Old Unplayable Files and Story-Telling: Do you Retcon, Reboot or Rebuild?

Sorry your old saves wouldn't play for you. That usually only happens for me if I uninstalled something that I had when I was playing the save, like CAP or CAW. It I didn't open my game when I was playing with those tools, then the game was still okay after uninstalling them. BUT, if I played a save while I had those tools installed; then uninstalling them messed up the save. I didn't know those tools would affect my saves, but they did! So, I had to go back to older save file and replay.
