Need some building help (solved)

So I'm attempting to create my dream house (haven't built a house from scratch in years). I'm having trouble figuring out how I can possibly hide this roof from showing through the walls http://prntscr.com/4w9vqd (besides having the walls down while playing, I know it's still there :P). Any suggestions on what I can do? I'm recreating this house http://prntscr.com/4w9vwb and as you can see I kind of need to have the roof shaped like that in the front.

Honestly...the easiest thing to do so you dont have to change a lot is to move those stairs forward one square and make a false wall where the roof is showing through. It will still allow you to have that window there ( put a light in the space so it looks nice from the outside) but it wont look ugly from inside. Bob's your uncle.

Thank you so much! I was thinking the false wall but then I wasn't sure about it. I'll definitely do this now ^.^ I'm pretty proud of what I've done so far. Only thing that is really taking me the most time is landscaping and figuring out how I want it to look like.

I just had the same problem on a house I'm working on. I opted for the false wall, but I hated having to do it. Love the house you're replicating, can't wait to see your build!

@Lizziguin: You will not have this problem if: A. It's only a roof part on that level, B. The room is closed by walls, so the game knows it's an inside room that will cut out any roofs and C. (not always) the roof doesn't stop at the wall, but goes in the room.

I know roofs can be difficult. My latest build with a Dutch hipped roof has made me try 3 times to get it right, and I think I now figured out the roofs and how the game treats them. I'm planning on creating some howto pictures and tutorials to create better roofs and know what to look out for.

I may fiddle with it some more but for now the false wall works even if I hate having it there. I'll take a screen shot of my progress so far when I hop in game.

Edit: Also @DieterPrivate: I'm not entirely sure what you mean, it'd definitely be better if you showed an image. I understand the whole game recognizing it as a closed room which it is but it's still clipping through the wall for whatever reason.

So I keep noticing how every time I come into game the pond that I have in front keeps disappearing. So instead of constantly having to replace it I might just do a fountain.

Your home looks very nice! You have reflected the inspiration house so very well! The exterior looks very nice! The roofing looks great! It looks very nice the type of and how you have placed the windows. It looks great how you have used the spandrels. The flowers look very pretty how you have placed them and the rocks on the front edges of the house. Great side patio. Child sims will have fun playing on the monkey bars and the pirate ship. The layout of the levels of the home looks great.

Argh, I'm having some issues with the layout of the house now. It's just not working how I want it to. I need to redo the downstairs and possibly the upstairs for the layout.

Edit: HAHA! I'm going to move the stairs and I finally freaking fixed the roof xD I just pulled the walls forward for the two "rooms" and made it all into one room so now the roof barely clips through.

Thank you! I agree the downstairs layout is muuuch better. I'm all finished! I can't believe it first floor: http://prntscr.com/4wwel7 second floor: http://prntscr.com/4wwext backyard: http://prntscr.com/4wwfej , http://prntscr.com/4wwfo9 front yard: http://prntscr.com/4wwfy4. I'll be putting it up in my gallery, my origin ID is MenguPengu. Fair warning though I have used CC in this for the carpet in the bedrooms, plus the pond disappears but it's easy to put back as long as you get some of the rocks/plants out of the way. Also, at least one tree might not show up either because of how I placed plants around the base of them. I used the hidden objects cheat to get the pond and a couple of pictures. Otherwise everything else should show up.

Edit: Oh and I'm definitely putting in a pool when they're available.

It is great that you have finished your home. Your home is very nice! The exterior of the home looks very nice! The flowers look very pretty along the front edges of the home! The pond in the front of the home looks great. Very nice outdoors areas! Great backyard area! Child sims will have fun playing on the monkey bars and on the pirate ship. Nice patio area for sims to enjoy cooking on the bbq and eating their meals at the umbrella covered table in the sunshine. Sims will enjoy growing plants in the garden pots there. It is great that you have the observatory there for sims to use. It looks very nice how you have used the hedge fencing and arch on the sides of the build. Very nice layout and furnishing of the interior of the home! The wooden texture of the flooring looks nice. Great angled study desk area in the kids room for them to enjoy sitting at the table using the computer or having a read. Great games area on the upper level for sims to have fun playing in the games cube or playing games on the card table. Nice sofa and armchairs sitting area there for sims to enjoy resting on the seats and having a chat together or a read of a book. The curved bar stool counter in the kitchen looks very nice! Very nice dining room! The patterned floor rug under the dining table looks nice there. Sims will enjoy having a drink from the bar counter with their meals. Nice outdoors patio for sims to enjoy painting on the easel in the subshine or just sitting resting on the seat benches there. It looks nice how you have placed the plants in the corners either side of the seat benches there. The water fountain is nice for sims to see whilst sitting and painting.
It is a very nice home!

Thanks everyone ^.^ I'm very proud of this build. I've been recently inspired by this lovely house that is built near my neighborhood. I wish I could take a picture of it without being creepy lol. I'm going to just try using the exterior walls that it has which is a combination of paneling and stone.
