From what limited info I could get for that laptop (HP 15-AF112NA 15.6" AMD A8 8GB RAM 2TB HDD White Laptop) I would say maybe. They list the graphics as "On-board graphics adapter model*AMD Radeon R5". Too bad they forgot the most important information, an R5 - what. This could be anything from an R5 - 220 to an R5 - 435 or more likely R5- Msomething. You will have to guess what the something is as I have no clue as to what it is.

    Edited for syntax

All I can ever find for the graphics is R5! So annoying!
Are MacBooks any good for playing sims?

Technically no they aren't. I used a MacBook Pro since TS4 launched and the gameplay is decent but mine was an older MacBook pro (2011) and it can still play on medium-low graphics, but macs generally aren't made for gaming. It's possible but not at the level you'd hope or expect especially with what you pay for them.

If they aren't telling you what the graphics card is, you can pretty certain that the laptop is not intended for gaming and probably has only integrated graphics. I checked Acer's site and don't see an E5-573 with an i5-5200U listed there, but that whole line is only integrated graphics. http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/models/laptops/aspire-e

How weird that it's not on there! Would it not play at all or would it just be lower settings?

There's not enough information provided to know if it would play at all, not even the base game only before two years of patches made it more complex. In my opinion, you're wasting money if you buy anything good below recommended, not minimum, requirements. You could just end up burning out the computer and needing a new one earlier. Money saved mow turns into more spent overall.

it's under recommended requirements and you can't change laptop hardware you are stuck with the specs you buy and it may not survive the game. The games requirements are for desktop not laptop . Laptops are weaker than desktop so you need a more powerful gaming laptop to equal the requirements for a mid range gaming desktop desktop

On laptop You want a GTX 960 or better video card
a quad core i7 HQ or MQ quad processor not a "U" dual core processor
    8gb of ram
at least 500 gb hard drive space
    windows 64 bit

why I posted this laptop. It meets the requirements https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GL62-1089UK-15-6-Inch-Notebook/dp/B01LMWCCXW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1476828933&sr=8-2&keywords=gtx+960m

It would also be appreciated if you would stop overloading this thread with many computers.

It's not a huge deal if I can't play the sims on it so I don't mind too much, it's not specifically just for that anyway. Didn't realise I was overloading this thread..
    thanks.

    Any recommended settings for this?

Your computer is integrated processor/video card which is under recommended requirements to run the game. Don't know that your computer will survive the game since it is not designed to run this game.

I would put the game in 32 bit mode, lower your game settings , lower your resolution if it's 1080p. try putting the game in laptop mode in game options. Your going to have to play with your settings to see which works best . If you have CC or Mods will make the game more demanding it may make your game more sluggish. You may need to remove the mods and cc. Play in off line mode and turn origin off in game http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/deactivate-origin-in-game/

How do I run the 32-bit version of The Sims 4?
If you are on a 64-bit version of Windows and would like to run the 32-bit version of The Sims 4, do the following:

Right click on The Sims 4 tile in Origin.
    Select “Game Properties”
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”

Than why did you ask about settings if the game is running fine for you?

Oh ok. you can try but I don't know how it will run. The game may become more sluggish for you. Why I mentioned to play with the different settings I mentioned above. Playing the game where you are at med using laptop mode would be about right. As the game add more you may have to change your settings. You might have to change resolution or lower settings. No one knows how much EA will add to this game and whey we advise people to have a computer that meets the recommended requirements.

I think it will be laggy on ultra or maybe even high cuz they just changed the lighting setting to include shadows in the house/indoors and this will put more work on your computer.

    Hello,

When will you add AMD Radeon Pro 460 support to The Sims 4 for Mac?

I got a warning message about unsupported graphic card.

    Thanks

    Hi fellow Simmers,

I am currently using iMac 21.5” Late 2012 when playing Sims and I am planning to upgrade my computer at the end of this year.

My mac runs macOS Sierra currently and Sims 4 crashes all the time :( So I made the decision to switch to PC now.

Just need your help and opinion if this computer will run Sims 4 on High (Ultra is better).

I don’t do heavy gaming just Sims 4. I am also going to use the computer for school and everyday use as well.

Currently looking at the HP Envy 27se

    Windows 10 Home 64
    Intel® Core™ i7-6700T (2.8 GHz, up to 3.6 GHz, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
    27" diagonal QHD multitouch-enabled LED-backlit (2560 x 1440)
    16 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
    2 DIMM
    2 TB 5400 rpm SATA
    256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
    3-in-1 memory card reader
180 W external AC power adapter
    4 USB 3.0; 1 headphone/microphone combo
    1 PCIe x16
ENERGY STAR® certified; EPEAT® Silver registered
    Bang & Olufsen

    What do you guys think?

Would not recommend HP for gaming. They are also overpriced. You also need a GTX 960m or better on laptop . Your resolution should be 1080p. Your processor should be HQ or MQ i7 . This game is processor heavy. The games requirements are for desktop not laptop and laptops are weaker than desktop. You are stuck with the specs you buy with a laptop so your laptop needs to meet recommended requirements. Do you have a price range? What country are you looking to buy

If the video card has an "M" it's laptop. What you posted is laptop specs. If you could please post your budget and country someone can help you find something for desktop
