Hey guys, I wrote a special set of rules and a back story for a Vampire Lineage Legacy Challenge. I really love playing Pinstar's Legacy so I really wanted to stay as true to it as I could in my own game, and that inspired me to write this challenge modification. Here is the link:

Sanderson Sisters Challenge ideas,
Sara is creative, childish, and cheerful... has to max singing and charisma (maybe the violin too).
Mary is, insane, gluten, and gloomy... has to max cooking, baking, and gourmet cooking.
Winni Hates children, hot headed and evil. She must max gardening, herbalism, and mixology
All three must master vampire.
I made them vampires to give them some powers and make them able to "eat" teens.
They must "eat" (drink from) a teen every night or they get old and you lose.
You must eventually have "stolen" 10 children or toddlers and raised them to teens to drink from so you don't have to go out. If you are seen drinking from a teen, you lose. Once the children or toddlers you stole are YA, they must move out or die.
Hey guys! I've started a legacy challenge and blog to go with it. Each generation must complete an aspiration until all aspirations are complete! I just started but I've got a few chapters...check it out! https://thebestsimmer.wordpress.com
I know that for TS4 you are allowed to add #LegacyLoves, but I was wondering what the restrictions are for making your own Legacy Loves. I know you're not supposed to know the traits of the potential spouses, so I was wondering if others have made their own LegacyLoves while maintaining the Pinstar rules?
@matthewrodney I haven't but I've asked friends to make them for me. If you did want to make your own you could always use a random trait generator so that it's still fair. Not sure what Pinstar would think about it but it's not like you're personally picking the traits which was the point. I use this one when I'm not using the one from the legacy site since you don't need parents info.
I've been reading a lot of legacy story now and have never actually do it. I'm not following the rules strictly though, I don't even think I can finish 10 generation as none of my casual play have ever reach that many generation.
Hey guys! I've been working on a newer blog about my legacy challenge. 7 Chapters so far...I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think!

There is a first time for everything! Can't wait to read about your process (:

I know this is a bit late (sorry) - but I tend to go into the manage households and marry off random townies and then randomize toddlers. I can use the toddler trait generator to get a toddler trait, but by the time they're young adults and eligible to marry my heirs/spares, I have no idea what their adult traits are.
I've been thinking of starting a legacy for a while. Now that I have time, I might actually do it. Just wondering if people actually read them? I like playing but it's honestly a lot of effort if no one reads lol :p
@clementine101 Honestly, legacy is one of my fav challenges. At first, my only thoughts were 'I hope I get a ton of readers/fans of this work' but the longer I played, the more I grew attached to the family and I started to care less about how many views I got. Even just a handful is strangely touching - even if only a few people read. Those few people may honestly love what you're putting out and grow to love your sims as much as I hope you do, once you get into the nitty gritty of the challenge.
I have a question. Apparently, editing community lots is allowed in the legacy challenge. So there's nothing stopping me from creating a mini posh home on the top floor of (say) one of the cafes. Isn't that cheating?
@DoreaXD I'm pretty sure that's allowed even though it's kind of cheating. For me, it depends on you if you considered that cheating since Legacy Challenge and other sims challenge rules are mostly self-imposed.
Hello everyone! I'm a new Simmer on the forums, looking to tackle the Legacy Challenge for the first time.
I was looking at the spreadsheet to track points that can be found online, and I'm a bit puzzled on this one thing. The instructions to get started say to adjust the Settings for the rules of your challenge. I was able to figure out my Succession Laws, so that's fine. But I'm not sure what I should select in terms of "difficulty". Pinstar's guide to getting started for the challenge didn't mention difficulty settings, so I'm not sure if this is something simply up to me to decide, or if it matches some settings in the game that I can't find (like... the deaths difficulty. Is it about the number of required deaths (self-imposed), or is there a way to set how easily my Sim will die (game setting)?)
The sheet comes with settings automatically set on Hard so I don't know if I should leave it that way or not. Any help figuring this out is appreciated!
Hahaha... nevermind. Turns out I just had to open the document with a better browser for the explaination window to pop about Difficulty v.v Move along, nothing to see here...~
Hi everyone! I'm playing a legacy challenge, and my friend also wants to start one, and we were wondering if there have been any official updates in rules/scoring with the Cats and Dogs update? I want to add a puppo to the family!

A great source for this type of question is at the official site. http://www.simslegacychallenge.com
There is an updated trait generator to include the new traits.
There is also a note from a couple of weeks ago that and new Cats & Dogs rules will be delayed.
In the meantime I am sure @Pinstar1161 & @MysticLegacy would not mind if you added a pet or two.
Ah, I must have missed that... Thanks for the reply!
Not everyone realizes the website is there. I subscribe to email updates from them and remembered (vaguely) seeing a post about Cats and Dogs.
I just hope it helped answer your question.
I have a legit question about the Legacy Challenge. I am on my "D" generation, after starting at A with my first gen. My current family is so bugged, I am finding I need to reset my sim because he/she gets frozen almost every other interaction. I have no mods, but all expansions/stuff/game packs. I don't see how it's possible to go 10 generations without the buggy-ness that I am having. How do you deal with it, if you even have it at all?

Hi @VekVek you'll want to post your link on the challenges thread actually. People use this one for Pinstar's legacy. Here's the link...
