I have a stupid question. When I move out non-heirs I don't have to make them playable, right? I mean, is there a way to process them out and into NPC bliss? I just didn't want to get into 3 or 4 generations and have like 9 households to have to play.

Once the non-heirs are moved out they can live out their lives in NPC bliss (Love that term). For this legacy challenge only the primary (founder and heirs) household Sims are playable until they move out.

Hehe, glad you like the term. Thanks for the information. As I said, I didn't want to be dealing with 9 households. One is enough. The triplets (the first born is the heir) are now young adults. There's also one child and one toddler (the Mrs. wanted a girl, but 5 boys is what she got and she stopped after that). So I wanted to start thinking about moving out the 2nd and 3rd triplets to make room in the house for when (eventually) Luke (the heir) find true love or a passionate tryst. Either way.

Never mind sorry I guess I haven't been here long enough to post links.

Chapter 1.1: The Beginning
@EuphorialQueen Thank you! I actually went and read that after posting this. I have a better understanding now. Thanks for taking the time to tell me that though!

@turnonthedark I am glad you found the information in the thread helpful. Happy Simming!

Don't worry, we'll be reading it! I know I will! Looking forward to it!
I haven't simmed very much in a good decade and it's awesome to see how many swimmers are actively doing legacy challenges. I never did one when I played before, so I'm trying it out now!
@SpoonieSarah Legacy families are fun to play. I like watching how the genetics carry thru to each generation. I only remember playing the full ten generations once.
When playing a multigenerational challenge I like to give myself little mini-challenges to keep things interesting.
Just do what you find makes you happy and have fun!
Curious how those doing legacy challenge have accommodated for Seasons. I wanted to stick as close to the rules as possible but I just HAD to start for storytelling purposes. It made no sense to get pregnant at Winterfest and have a baby at the New Year lol. I've changed aging to longer and did use a mod to stretch pregnancy out longer as well. Its rough to keep a sim happy when she's pregnant ALL OF THE TIME and I feel like its gonna take me forever to get to the third generation this way but I couldn't see another way around it. Ideas?
I'm just starting the legacy challenge for the first time ever, and just brought a potential spouse into my household and noticed he has a lot of skills already. Can he contribute to any of the legacy challenge points?
So it's been a turbulent week - almost 40 hours of SIMS filled action and working 4 of those days...I've finally decided to start The Legacy Challenge, or should I say that was last night. I'm probably 8 or so hours into it now and I'm finally reaping the rewards. I'm playing only with Expansion DLC and not particularly bothering to keep track of points as I can either do that later or not at all. I also don't think I could give this up after 10 generations so it'll probably be "my own version" of the challenge if that makes sense.
Anywho, I'm looking forwards to getting the chance to post updates on a thread here as soon as I contribute to the community enough, as I'm already 4 babies deep, though only 1 is of my chosen -achy...Time to fire up the bun oven again I guess!
Hi @blueshells & @Burd
Hope you are enjoying the challenge.
Points are difficult for me to remember to track. But this is still a great way to explore all the options in the game.
As for questions may I suggest going to the official site linked on the first page. @Pinstar1161 & @MysticLegacy have posted a lot of updated information there.
Thanks @EuphorialQueen as friendly as any member of the community! I thought I'd hit a 5 baby snag today and actually weighed up starting again (4 as toddlers simultaneously is not a great idea if I might add, especially on long difficulty), but I played through it and got the reward of a beautiful 5th toddler called Niamh who will definitely be my heir as there's a few ways which she could work out and I can't wait to see which it is!
Currently around 50k in the bank and I've already renovated the naturist camp into a 2 story home of 7, I think it's time for a 3rd bathroom primarily, they seem to be the hotspot in the house for sure!
I'll be posting some pictures at some point, just need to hit the 15 post mark beforehand
> @GuiltyPlayer said: > I actually finished this and when I did I was so surprised that I had played through 10 generations of sims!
I could never last that long... I think my computer would start to spazz out and smoke would start coming from the screen and everything. Lol. Never fails... anytime I am nearing completion of a challenge or a major build some technical calamity happens. Haha.
Sorry if this is a repeat but I couldn't find an answer. I wanted to know about the gnomes you get on Thanksgiving. Mine have gotten the Halo and continuously give me seed packets that can be sold for 100 simoleons and it adds up quick. Is this allowed in legacy or not?
Comments
Also: I see that non-heirs count in the scoring system. Do non-eligible children also count (traits, careers, etc)?

I think the score thing acts like a help to not get bored before you reach generation 10. I've never counted the score either tho
(edited the post because I found a mistake, changing the sentence in the middle and not deleting the "wrong" part ^^)
