Thank you for hosting yet another fabulous build thread, Karritz! Very much appreciated!

Me, I've been too busy playing with the "Now" version of the venue so I haven't been doing any building. I did enlarge the "Now" home to have a larger Living Room, enlarged the small porch off the dining room and made it into a kitchen, converted the old kitchen into a music room with a grand piano, and added a sun room to the left side of the house (done after these photos were taken). On the second level, I also enlarged the Master Bedroom and the adjoining Nursery. I also added a basement for nectar making, potion making, etc.

I also moved Fricorith Tricou to the back yard. I've aged him up to a Young Adult. He's gonna be romantically involved with my Sim, Branwyn Specter.

    Best Regards,
    Nik

My friend has been remodeling the Now & Then Manor all morning while we were chatting in yahoo. And I just found this and told her she should feature it here when she's done. :D

Here's what she's done so far:

Karritz then I take it your bakery has some of the new set in it if it has cobwebs. As I don't have that set yet, which explains me not being allowed to download it.... but I saw that and thought how perfect that would be in Rflongs "Haunted Valley 2" world.

I am enjoying everyones pictures of what they are doing with the set. It was funny the day after that set came out there was a picture in the news of a Haunted House in Illinois a whole lot like the mansion in this set. I thought it was funny that a real haunted house simmers can now build was in the news right after the set came out at the Sims 3 store.

ETA - Never mind - I think I may be able to download it now - I was just gifted that set. Ohhhh - I am so happy. I so wanted this set and kept trying to build up enough points, but the ads stopped showing up for me except rarely. So will go try and get this bakery again as it will look so good in Haunted Valley II. Thanks for creating it Karritz. Looks creepy good.

I love it, love, love it! I adore the tree growing up through the porch and the ivy all over the place! I'm stealing the ivy idea from you! LOL I also added the fantastic dead tree from Grimm's Ghastly Manor that's actually a deco item in Sculptures that I always forget about to my little cemetery plot out back.

I searched it as soon as you posted that. I'm one of those haunted house and spooky movie/tv show fans. My husband hates my choice in tv, he finds it all equally as boring as I find Axmen and Storage Wars.

Yep, I am the same way - Sy Fy, Ghost Adventures, Chiller, all those types of channels. Hubby doesn't watch tv much- but some football and some Nascar, then sometimes he watches movies we rent or buy - like Avatar, and the Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp as well as the New Oz with the Witches - etc - but TV is more my domain. He is a music buff - 70's and 80's Southern Rock and such. Besides he has an office in the house he uses his pc in, while my desk is in the dining room. Open concept with living room and big wall tv - so I am usually doing both - pc and tv. hehehe

Building it would be nice if we could find the blueprints or at least see the inside. Maybe through that realtor that has it listed. If they have an online listing for it - they might have a walk thru online. The "famous" type houses sometimes do.

I bet there are a lot of talented simmers that could build that house here - I am not one of those, for sure. hehehe

Thanks I'm happy you like the way my spectral bakery is progressing.

I learned the trick with the ghostly tombstones when I did the Zoo U course on Tombs And traps. Hint: you need Ambitions and World Adventures to do it.

So what's the secret? Spooky builders need to know!

Writin_Reg did you manage to download the Spectral Bakery?

I hope you did manage to get it. It never occurred to me someone might consider it for a world. I was just having fun seeing what I could do.

Since I've been buying everything that comes out lately I want to try to find ways of using it and I find I enjoy Midnight Hollow. MH is where I built this bakery.

Apart from the things I've purchased myself, occasionally a generous person gifts me something and then I like to try to use the items in a build so they can see what I'm doing with it.

I've never downloaded any custom world's but do think I should try to one day before the Exchange closes.

I don't think I could take on such a building. I don't have the right style for that kind of building. My homes tend to be more on the clutter bug, or poor old fashioned side. Harley called my style shabby chic. But I know a few of these builders could probably knock it out of the park. I bet I could do the fp, just don't think I could decorate it properly to do it justice. We'll have to just cross our fingers and hope one of those super talented individuals spots this and it spikes their interest.

@Rumbutter. Yes, I, too, seem to be obsessed with finding uses for that chain (when I'm not assisting my Granddaughters with WIP "Twinbrook Story"*). And, of course, searching for seats that might work as swings. An ax would be helpful.

Karritz, Thanks for starting this thread. I can't build worth a whatever - these threads are the only way I get new things in my game. I'm using your new bakery in MH straight away.

    Lots of snippage ahead ...
may post that venue here if it's ok cuz I will use some parts from this set....but it's not going to be a mansion per say is that ok Karritz?
    Karritz wrote:
Yes. You can post anything here that uses at least some of the 40 things we got with that venue.

This was my question too. I just uploaded a house to the exchange today which uses a fair number of the items from this set, but it's definitely not a mansion, just a family farmhouse.

Love your creepy bakery, Karritz!

    C&P'ed from another thread:

Hi everybody I decided to post this on the store thread because I used so many of the new items from the Now & Then Century Manor venue/set. I'm not really a mansion kind of girl, but I am still really happy with this set. Finally I can have my screened in porches! In this build I used the fan, recolorable glass door, colonial window and shutters (love!), curtains, grandfather clock, and screened windows and door. I've been working on this house off and on for about a week, just waiting for the set to be released. I finished it today, and well, here it is.

I also posted this build on my creations thread here: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/749786.page

    Exchange link http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8195735

The Banning Court House is a 3 BR 2 BA home which features a large inviting front porch, master bedroom suite, kids room with bunk beds, guest room, eat in kitchen with large dining area, screened side porch and great room with fireplace. All appliances have been upgraded to unbreakable or fireproof. As always, no stuff pack items or CC and checked with Custard.

Nicely done! Left you a rec!

The bakery is on the ground floor. It has a kitchen and toilet facilities as well as a dining room.

Access to the attic living quarters is by a ladder in the kitchen.

Kitchen and behind the counter are blocked from access to all but the current family.

Barrier to Entry system. You will need to set this for your own family. Just click on each of the two barrier to entry doors and set the locks to allow only your family. Or else make the locks do whatever else you want them to do. There is no ticket machine on the lot so you will have to add one if you want to use the ticketing system.

There are 5 graves in the garden plus a few extra tombstones. The ghosts will come out and haunt the bakery. They eat and posses things.

The garden has a small pond and I added 2 fish spawners to it. There are also 4 fog emitters in the garden for butterflies, fireflies, fog and moths.

There is a partly decorated basement for you to have some fun finding and decorating.

    Have fun

What a wonderful idea Karritz! I love it! Left you a rec!
