I love these speculation threads so much!! So many great guesses and creative ideas... but the odds are that TaterTot would make me fix the stereo while standing in a puddle if I gave any hints, so all I can say is- I bet you guys will love it!

I wished he would use the forum.... when it is directed directly to a thread in the forum.... I don't know how many goe hunting down guru's blog's I don't the forum threads I can see if new post have been made... esier, and in 1 spot pr. forum.
It seems to me that most of the guesses have been things we ALREADY have. Logically, the store exists to provide NEW content for our games that works off of things that are already established. So, for example, we got a library, which we already have -- but it included the unique spellcaster podium thingy. Or the arcade, which was new, but provided different takes on arcade games, which we already had. It also offered new content, the gumball machine.
So it seems like this new venue must utilize common aspects already existing in our games in entirely new ways, and offer premium content that is unique.
I just can't imagine what that might be, given the clues in front of us. :P I think it must be some kind of "summer"-themed venue, because of the clues. To be honest, when I first looked at it, I thought it looked like a rabbithole. But they couldn't be that mean....could they? :P

We already sort of have hotels in World Adventures, so I'm not really clear on what the point of having a hotel is, I guess. I mean, if you don't have World Adventures, your sims can't travel anyway, so the hotel would just be in your home town...and what's the point of staying in a hotel in your home town? We can already do that by sleeping on community lots as it is. I always add beds to lots where it makes sense to have them.
Not shooting down this idea, or anything, I just can't see the advantage of having a hotel without World Adventures, and World Adventures has base camps already.

I've made "bed and breakfast" type places for my towns on my own for my sims who want a romantic rendezvous away from the prying eyes of neighbors or spouses. :P It just doesn't seem like something the store can make a lot of money on...which is usually their goal. That's my point.
could it be linked to sweet treats.... I have seen (in real life) a candy store, where some of the candy was around a big octpus like thing....
sounds to fare out... but it have been pointed out in this thread that there seem to be a small link between the release of an EP/SP and a store lot/town ........
have Katy Perry (shrugs) done any under water theme songs/videos? that they could use as inspiration?

The Sims 2 hotels were great! I liked when they would come with the covered dish full of cheeseburgers or lobster thermidor or whatever your sims ordered. That was nice. It would be great to have that back again. It kind of seems like it would be outside the scope of store objects, though...

Yeah, I miss that whole side of Sims. I just want an EP where that stuff comes back. There are EPs that are supposed to be like old TS2 Eps.. But they are just not the same. They lack the things that made The sims fun. If they came back with seasons I'd be a happy lady.

I agree...I do feel like, even with all of the fantastic advantages of Sims 3 (such as open neighborhoods and full customization), the game is missing some of the fun and whimsical things that made The Sims, well..."The Sims."

logically it would be that or an aquarium.... but when did the clue got posted? was that when the majority still said hotel/resturant/casino?

I agree...I do feel like, even with all of the fantastic advantages of Sims 3 (such as open neighborhoods and full customization), the game is missing some of the fun and whimsical things that made The Sims, well..."The Sims."
