Do you guys want me to seperate it and we can discuss the course. Would that be a better learning experience for you. Let me know okay.
Hi Lynda! I think it's just fine as one post! I'm just starting a little late--having troubles with the forum and had to switch browsers twice. If anyone's curious, Firefox and IE crapped out on me, but Safari seems okay for now.
Just now starting to read your intro stuff! Thanks for doing this.
first lesson i learned, one should not play Zelda before coming to class. I've been overloaded with information, but i think i have it. Can i post a couple of mini-builds tomorrow when i'm able to put this info into practice?
Hey guys dont worry just fiddle with it. Explore those other builds..this is just a starter..next class will be on arches and arches only. I think everyone will enjoy that. Sorry for the info overload. I found that when i started this lesson i was going to try to teach it all and brain burned out. Hope you learnt something. This is beginner class so if you already know some CFE its a bit to basic but the rules are still good to know know matter what level your at. By the end of this course you will know them. Dont worry about having them engrained now.
Svlyn, this is AWESOME! I'm actually pretty good with CFE (or think I am) and I already picked up two useful tips!
Could you check your post and see if you can tell why one of the pictures isn't showing?
Thanks, I'm going back to watch some video tutorials you found for us!
Yes when i did this lesson i learnt about the doors...which is why i was admit about it. I will check..I cant believe how long this took me..I am very rusty with lesson plan, been nursing for years now.
Okay, so I did everything as instructed, except I didn't have flooring on the first floor, and it wasn't letting me level the base without it. So I added flooring, which didn't seem to cause a problem. I followed your steps to level the base and then re-level the top, and everything looks good...except for this black wall that is not recolorable. Is it because I added flooring later? Note: The black wall is on the same side as the foundation we deleted earlier.
You mention a glitch since Pets with the doors. I never got the doors to work (or look right) when placed in foundation height walls. I always put in a piece of full height wall for the door and picked a wall covering that hid the weird triangular topped wall bits.
Does this not work after Pets?
I don't usually make a single level that is taller than the one wall height. Generally that is not what I'm using CFE for, so maybe I just haven't had the situation you warned us about.
This is great, by the way. I still have a few tutorials to watch!

I have never seen this issue..I generally make sure to make a floor before i elevate a room. I am thinking your wall in the back might not be level. Try to relevel it and put in flooring on the top floor to see if it levels out. Let me know if it does. You might have to reuse the level terrain tool too. Try that also.
Not to butt in, but I think I have had that happen. I THINK it may be a temporary lighting glitch. Jess, try to delete that wall and then use "undo" and see if that fixes it.

I generally dont use a higher room but i would like to in the future..as for having another wall to make the door work. That would be another lesson. I just want you all to know that will your creations you can if you want to make a higher ceiling. BUt you have to make sure that doors are not just placed. If you notice in the video that guy made a tall house the throw a door in..that is what i want to avoid in peoples creations. I hope that made sense.

I think you were both right. Svlyn, I must be having some weird unlevel stuff going on. However, the only way I could fix it was by deleting the wall and undoing the delete. That works!
