1st Crush
Everything starts with a first crush at school or on a famous person.

Sexual self-discovery
As a teen, Self-discovery phase begins in order to figure out the sexual orientation.
Even if the player already set it, the sim doesn't know it yet (IRL it can take time to know yourself).

Romantic Preferences
As an young adult, it's time to figure out the Romance preference (loyal couple, free couple, trouple, one-day romance, … ).

Peaceful Romance
As an elder, the things are very simple. Just enjoy to spend time together.


Maybe everything wouldn't be a good gameplay but my global idea is about adding depth to the romance.
Of course it also includes Zodiac Signs, Attraction & Chemistry, Romantic Reputation, Fortune Teller career and Dating App.

Other features that I'm thinking :

• Paris world : Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, barges on Seine River + Love Lock Bridge and palace of Versailles
• Create-A-Drama :
  • Secret romance : The sims hide their relationship in public or from someone. If the sims are celebrities, journalists by hacking email account and paparazzi could discover this secret, in this case the sims can try to buy their silence.
  • Forbidden romance : this relationship would cause a negative reaction from everybody or from someone in particular.
  • Fame & Romance : The fans could react positively or negatively to the romance of 5-Star celebrities (Supportive and Jealous fans).
• Stay in touch : When the sims are not together in the same lot, they keep on talking together by phone call, SMS or email once a day. And the sims always accept phone call from their romantic partner in the middle of the night.

I wouldn't mind a romance EP, but if it's going to be an EP, it should have great things in it. Hotels would be a great start. Maybe a Las Vegas type hotel with a few gambling machines. They could put:

[*] We could also get a romance coffin. A pink coffin with a white swan on top that all sims can use. Woohoo capable.
[*] More lingerie which we lack heavily.

[*] hammocks are what I've asked for since middle of Sims3 and they could probably make one with the bed and just have it a standing one with fake palm trees on each end.
[*] obviously more interactions
[*] a dating game where either your sim can be in it or choose to be the one choosing from three contestants. The simmer should be able to decide the sexual orientation of the contestants and if it includes only single people or if all sims can be contestants.

This would be a no brainer buy for so many sims. The gambling, the hotel, some items that aren't in the game at all, and all new gameplay that isn't in any sims game ever which is the dating game. This hotel could have a pool and that would be nice to add the pool bar from the Sims3 back, the waterfall, and the slide. The hotel could serve as a honeymoon destination. You could build your own hotel/resort and run it. I can't imagine any simmer not wanting this.

Casino and hotel also exist in Paris, France but gambling isn't really an activity in Romantic movies.
Instead it could match better to §1 Million Lifestyle.

Hotel / Palace with a romantic suite would be nice.

About the neighborhood of Palace of Versailles, Princess and Prince theme could be romantic.

A royal family gameplay inspired by UK would be nice.

I would love a full Romance Expansion Pack that had a Paris France World or even better a Niagara Falls ON, Canada World.
Also, there so needs to be a free Heartshape Bed in a Base Update. It would so fix the mistake that should've been in Basement Kit, please.

So I would like a first crush but with highschool years everyone was crushing on everyone it was annoying you talked to one person all of a sudden your sim had a crush because that random sim talked to them I'm like...no. that's not how that works. I would like a sim to develop a crush like get to know the sim first before you start automatically having a crush.

I would also like chemistry like we get along we have good chemistry.

Walking hand in hand also arm and arms kiss on hand or on head while and talking.

Bring make out back.

Sleeping snuggled together like Sims 2.

Romance at work

I think it misses some options for the Romantic sims with a rabbithole career.
The sims could start a romance with a coworker and have a romantic lunch break.

Romantic Chance cards could also be added.
If the sim is already in couple and refuse this romance, it could create an embarrassing situation at work.
Same thing if the sim is single and be rejected by the coworker.

I'm not big fan of systems relating to romance because its just kind of like I want to choose if they have crush on someone or not and all that myself I don't want game to mess with it so my sims like all the random sims or whatever

should just ask before it assigns anything like " Cassandra is feeling flirty does she possibly have crush on Malcolm Landgraab or is this just weird coincidence" or whatever

and I really wish we had more romance interactions any sim could use (as long as romance bar is high enough ofc)

I think more about an option like "Work Hard" or "Socialize with co-workers".
If you pick "Romance with co-worker", a dialog box will show you the coworkers and if you pick one then the romance will begin.

If a romance already exist then it will keep on adding points to this relationship.

One thing I'm going to say about a Romance pack - it needs to either include an option for us to decide (similar to likes and dislikes) what our sim finds romantic, or (better, possibly easier) take traits/likes into consideration.

A geek should find a date to Geekcon romantic (cross pack compatibility) or an evening playing video games on the console.
A squeemish sim should not enjoy an evening camping under the stars, while a sim that Loves the Outdoors would.
A book lover should gain more romance when given a romance novel as a romantic gift than when given a rose.
Or, heck, watching a movie that doesn't have to be a romance - as long as they both like it. (My dad's first date with my step-mom was Die Hard, which continued to be something they watched on their anniversary until my dad passed.)

The one thing that would completely turn me off of a Romance pack - be it game pack or expansion pack - would be if what a sim considers to be "romantic" continues to be "one size fits all" of overused romance tropes.

For the drama, the game could allow parents, grandparents, siblings and maybe best friends disapprove the romance of a couple when the Social Compatibility, Reputation or Relationship are negative.
Discussions about this topic would be a source of conflicts until they are convinced that this relationship is healthy.

For example :

• A sister disapproving the romance between her brother and an enemy.
• Parents disapproving the romance between their daughter and an infamous sim.

Romance is also about Jealousy (lack of trust), Jealous sims could be disguised and spy their lover or hire a private investigator to get more infos the other romances.

I would very much like it if a couple can walk together while holding hands. I would also love it if person A could snuggle person B from behind. Say A is standing at the kitchen counter either fixing food or something and person B comes up behind them to give them a hug or a squeeze, or even a peck on the cheek.

I would love Sims to be able to hug from behind. Whenever one of my sims goes to warm themselves in front of the fire and their partner follows them I always think a hug from behind would be such a welcome addition. And imagine them standing in front of a bonfire and cuddling from behind. I think hugs/ kisses from behind would inject some tenderness into the game.

I would also love to see forehead kisses which I think would be really sweet.

Slow dances for couples and also the option for group Slow dances where group members dance in pairs would be so much fun, especially for simmers who want to play out a period drama or legacy players etc.

Picnics could be such a cute date idea and they could feed each other food.

Sims in relationships having the option to hold hands when walking would be heart warming.

An option to romantically greet a sim by kissing one hand would be cute too.

Sims being able to hold hands across the table would be adorable.

Also a run and jump hug/ kiss would be fun and welcome.

I would love an option where a sim could hook a finger under their love interests chin to raise their face before kissing them.

And finally a connected moment where sims could hold hands and just press their foreheads together would look really cute.

I love sims4 and I love that there have been so many new interactions between parents and kids. But I think we really need some new romantic gestures/ actions to inject some tenderness into the game and really bring our stories to life. I would love a romance update pack.

I would love all of these interactions, but to be honest, I'd be pretty furious if they were hidden in a pack. Why? Because they sold us a romance pack - My wedding stories! Why in the world would I agree to buy yet another romance pack?

So a loud no for me on the pack, but a big yes on the interactions. Make some of these basegame (cuddling in bed, sitting in each other's lap, holding hands while walking...), include others in the packs where they belong, such as going horseback riding together in Horse Ranch, sailing together in Island Living, the bear rug in Outdoor Retreat, table romance in Dine Out... additional interactions could come in other new packs such as a hotel pack (could easily have the vibrating bed for instance) or whatever they throw at us.
