Has anyone else noticed suspicious behavior with the ad points? I seem to be getting more points than I should when farming ads. It doesn't happen with single ads, but when I have multiple tabs playing. I'm going to be diligent the next time to see for sure, but I swear since they came back online they add up faster than they should. Not that I'm complaining! But I figured I'd ask.

@Kittycat87, I'd be twitching by day 2! I have "unlimited" data on my phone, but I've hit that speed bump down from 4G once and really would hate to have to live with just that slower speed again. I'm such a net junkie.

Besides entertainment/games I'm a Google/Wikipedia/IMDB addict. People always joke "what did we do before smart phones?" My reply: "I was waiting for them to invent smart phones!" I was that kid that read the encyclopedia for fun. I just love knowing "stuff." So I love knowing an answer as soon as I have the question.
I'm on day 4 and it's driving me batty! I keep going to click on gifs and videos on facebook and having to smack my hand away as I don't want to waste bandwidth - I need to save it for skyping with my fiance. I just tested one of the ad videos and it used 10mb of data for a 70-or-so second long ad, so I definitely can't risk it - 10 ads would use up as much a a single skype call! :'(
I have to go into town tomorrow and I'm considering bringing my laptop with me and holing myself up in a Cafe with free WiFi and watching some YouTube and doing a few ad-videos etc.

@JoeJude16 sometimes what happens to me is that the ad doesn't pay out right then but then a few ads later suddenly they'll all pay out and it will jump up very quickly in spurts. It seems to have leveled out for me but every so often it still does it. I didn't catch it at first but after watching closely that is what was happening to me. Perhaps that is what you are experiencing as well.
As of 12-18-16 I joined the Own The Store Club! Now I get to pay it forward! Thanks to everyone who helped me get here. You guys are amazing. ^_^ Love to you all!! <3

Ads are back to a steady slow dribble. A handful at a time a couple times a day.

Slow dribble, indeed. My incoming ads are about the same. But a friend of mine is easily getting 12 ads at a time and at least a few times a day. I wonder how they dole them out. Low SP balance=more available ads? Maybe @despina53 has some insight to offer?

    @JovialJoy and @Tamaek - Yes, the max is 35,000. Just 500 more points and I'm there :p

What have you found as you've accrued your SimPoints? Any patterns with ads?

The only suspicious behavior I noted was right before the ads started paying out again. I'd play an ad, and it would drop more than 5 SP into my bank. I realized it was temporarily adding back the points I'd spent purchasing my last Store item. Whenever I reloaded, the points would disappear.

Have you detailed this occurrence any further?

@JovialJoy, no, haven't gotten enough ads today to determine whether or not there is a glitch. Got a whopping 4 paying ads. Plenty of others, but all Olympic Channel, which don't pay, so I skip them.

In my ongoing saga of torture, I uninstalled and reinstalled my game trying to get store content to load. What a nightmare. Now I'm having trouble just getting the game itself to reinstall. Just got a message from the Origin app "Windows has blocked the download...." problem is I'm not running Windows, I'm on a Mac!!!! New motherboard should be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed the new system comes together. If not I may just go buy a complete system and shut down on voluntary spending for a few months to restore the savings I'd be hitting. That and I really don't want dad to know that I'm spending the money right now. Not when I have a "perfectly good" top of the line Mac which does everything fine. Except run Sims. So I'd kind of have to sneak it around him, which I'm not sure I'm cool with. *sigh* We'll see. One thing I'm sure of, if I'd known back when I bought my Mac that the graphics weren't compatible, I definitely would have compromised and gone with Windows. I use Sims way more than any of the graphics or video software I bought the Mac for. Hindsight=20/20 vision

I did see some minor delay in points adding this morning - no points, but then 10 points added. Nothing that suggested anything more than a minute's delay or so.

Hit 10,000 points this morning!!! Can't believe that! Good weekend.

Unlike others, @JovialJoy, my internet doesn't seem to like it if I try to have more than 2 windows open at once ( blankety blank TDS ) so I'd usually just have one ad running while I was reading then collect my sp. The only pattern I had was I would have a run of ads for maybe 2 hours then they would disappear for at least 30 minutes before I could find them again. Needless to say, it's taken a long time to get to this point ;)

I wish I could offer some sage advice for you @JoeJude16 or wave a magic wand and *poof* all better but alas I have neither to offer. I hope things are fixed for you soon. That's what I always say, that Hindsight is 20/20. Great minds and all that. Apple, Windows and EA are all differing degrees of annoying when it comes to using their products, I swear.

    Nice @AuraKnight!

Plums! Now I can't download and install new content. Couldn't install Hidden Springs from disk yesterday, but I noticed that the Download Dashboard was there. Today I bought the Buzzer Beater Free Throw Machine to use in my Dive Bar build and I can't install it at all. Tried to download it from the web page, no go. So I figured I'd download in game. Not happening there either because the game says I'm signed in but the Dashboard says I'm not. Contacting EA will be useless because their first suggestion will be to reinstall everything. I am so not doing that ... I'm getting this horrible feeling that I'll own the store but have nothing to play the game on!
Oww, don't like the sound of this at all! :( TS3 can certainly be a frustrating experience, I do hope that you can find a solution to these problems and get back to playing this, otherwise, great game.

Actually, I'm wondering if they have made changes to the login processes. I am logged in to the TS3 Store site and see my points and purchase history but when I run the game itself, although it shows me as logged and displays my avatar it says I have 0 simpoints!?!?! :hushed:

As has been mentioned, I think it has been "catching up" with the points that went missing when the ads weren't working. As I recall we have seen this before, where it works it way through the database and adds points back as it goes through each transaction, rather than applying them per person in one go.

Good to see another name from the previous generation of Deal Stalkers popping in again, hi @DrewRavida :)

Which reminds me, because Drew is also an awesome builder (just check out his Studio, http://www.thesims3.com/userExchange.html?selectedAsstType=all&persona=DrewRavida) ...

Lately, the site has barely been eeking out any ads for me--especially paying ones. And half the time I do get an ad, it loads only to tell me there isn't actually an ad available. Getting a little bummed out on how sluggish and unsuccessful this has become! I don't know how you had the patience to do this so slowly, @despina53! At this rate, I won't have the necessary funds take advantage of all the DDs this week. Time to prioritize!

Feelin' your pain! Getting a complete system would definitely be expedient, but I imagine it's a lot lot more expensive. Personally, that's my only option! But I'm having a really hard time deciding on what I should get. It seems like a desktop is the best way to go for TS3, but it really isn't very practical for me. I don't even have a proper desk--for pete's sake! And, as far as creating computer graphics goes, a touchscreen convertible laptop makes more sense for me. However, I've so far been unable to find a system that can serve both purposes. When I look at compromising just some of those features, I'm brought to gaming laptops. And I just can't justify spending that much money! Why isn't everything in life able to be purchased with SimPoints? :p

Aww, that is a shame. It would be a little unfair to gift the casino but there are a couple of other gambling tables available in the 'Double Down set' neither of seem to be on your wishlist ... :)

Never got into mobile games myself, but amazed if they have turned SimCity into an app - are the graphics really as good as the website shows? :hushed:

It would be unfair; and I wouldn't expect that--unless it was a family member! :p My aunt, who I recently found out plays TS3, said that she might be able to gift it to me (so I added it to my Wishlist), but it doesn't look like she has enough SimPoints. I'm cooking up some ideas though! I'll have a couple of questions for you in the competition's thread.

Trying to access it in my regular browser is still only working intermittently at this point; sometimes when I click a link that takes me there, I get a message that says something like, "We're busy right now, but we'll be right back!" :#

@JovialJoy, I totally laughed when you mentioned buying a real computer with SP! I'd had the same thought weeks ago! I suggest you REALLY confirm that any system you buy has the chops to run the Sims if that is a priority, which of course it is. The tablet convertibles rarely have the hard drive capacity or graphics power for under $1,000, whereas you might be able to find a traditional laptop that can handle it. But, if you have a comfortable den/living room situation consider a desktop system connected via HDMI to your TV as the monitor. It saves you the cost of a monitor and having to dedicate a space just to the computer. If you go this way a wireless keyboard and mouse would complete the setup. BTW, this is what I have done in the past. My current system has both a monitor and the TV connected and I go back and forth depending on what I'm working on.

In other news, can't sign in to the store today. Hopefully it means they are actively working to fix things.

@CravenLestat I am having the same problem but so far it's only on mobile browsers (iPhone safari and google browser) and safari on my mac... all windows browsers work fine for me as does google chrome on both PC and mac. On my iPhone, it just randomly logged me out and I can only log in by clicking the 'MyPage' link at the top, but it logs back out if one tries to go to the store.

There are so many issues with the site lately! It seems like every couple of days, something new happens. And MMAO has been down for me since October 14th. :( So, although I've only used it maybe one time maybe three years ago, I took a cue from @Tamaek and tried reaching out to someone through Twitter.

That's EXACTLY what I'm finding! And yes, even with a traditional laptop, I'm having a hard time finding anything with all of the right specs and still within my price range. It seems like if the Processor, Memory, and HD are all good, then the graphics card is integrated and/or not up to snuff ... and vice versa.

I've considered this setup, and I was pretty close to buying a Desktop. However, I find it puts me in a position of either being isolated from my housemates (by being in my bedroom) or having no privacy at all (by being in the living room). And this is where a laptop again better suits my needs. It allows me to be in the company of other people, while the screen and audio remain relatively private.

    Yeah ... I'm torn.

I have the same problem today. I've also finally been downloading and cataloging my store items, which has let me see that for the last couple days some of the store navigation menus have been messed up for an hour or so at a time. So I do think they have been actively fixing doing something to the site for the last week or so.
