Best Honeymoon Destinations?

So my Sim is currently engaged... and eventually I will have the wedding. Want the engagement to last a good while. :)
But I would love to send them on a vacation/honeymoon afterwards when they finally do tie the knot. However, I'm not sure where to send them yet!

So I ask you guys...

Where did you honeymoon your Sim couples (if you did)? Did they travel somewhere or just stay home?
Did they work out? Was it a disaster?

Spill the stories!

The last time I sent 2 Sims on a romantic getaway, one of them was crushed by a gigantic meteor.
    I voted for you, Kevin.

I think the last time I had 2 sims get married I sent them each to the day spa for the "Soothing Salvation" package, which is pretty expensive but it gives sims a +75 moodlet for 7 days.

If I was going to send them on an actual honeymoon, I'd probably choose Bridgeport since I have that set up as a Traveler destination and there are at least different clubs to go to unlike other EA worlds which can be pretty barren. If I ever get Isla Paradisio fixed up that might be a better choice.

I'm surprised you don't have one of EllaCharmed's fixes.

I have all of her fixed worlds (except China, that one has some problems with some of the lots) but I'm unclear whether more ought to be done with IP's world. I haven't bothered even playing it yet. I'm having too much fun in Monte Vista right now.

As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters.

I think it depends on your sims' visa levels. It's pretty plum to go on a honeymoon and have to stay in the base camp with no privacy. The first time I took sims to WA they happened to be celebrities and the wife got a 2 day shaming for public woohoo that ruined her mood for the rest of the trip. I guess the husband got an "ataboy!" Plum double standards!

It worked out much better when I already had a vacation home ready and waiting to go with as many different woohoo objects as possible.

Why don't you try to pick something based on your sim's traits? Think about the personality, tastes, and what the sim would enjoy. For example, if your sim loves the outdoors their idea of a great honeymoon might be camping in Hidden Springs and making love under the stars. An artistic sim might dream of Champ le Sims because they can visit the museum.

The location changes, I tend to favor World Adventure trips and then add a casino to the world. It wasn't a honeymoon but I sent Liam O'Dourke and his girlfriend to France for a proposal. The Last Venue of Amore seemed to fit in ok there. I like mixing in different venue lots whenever my sims travel for a special occasion.

Assuming you already know about the Traveler mod, you can install player made worlds with dive lots and that could be a fun experience for your sims. All though you do need a diving skill of 4 before you can go under water but that can be learned in any world.

I was going to do it, but my sims ended up pressed by their daily stuff. Now that the girl is pregnant, it's even impossible now.

I might have them travel when their child ages up. China and France have better facilities than Egypt.

Mine have a quick private wedding between having babies and skilling. I am beginning to feel guilty about my method of play.

Skill, little people, skill! Just had twins? Hug them, throw them in the crib and get back to skilling! If you max out that skill, I might let you entertain yourselves on high free will! Shameless.

    I am quite contrite. B)

Their Visa levels are actually pretty low. So I was probably not going to do anything from WA, but just use the Traveler mod to go somewhere. I was leaning towards Isla Paradiso or Starlight Shores, something tropical, since they live in Appaloosa Plains.

As for their traits, the guy is Connor Frio from Sunset Valley, and my Sim is a self-employed writer who's a bit of a shy homebody who loves her dogs.

But I figure they do need to get out sometimes and see the world outside their house. :)

So far, since I've got Traveler, I've sent newlyweds to Isla Paradisio. They're usually there for such a short amount of time that its problems don't become apparent. I do like the idea of Monte Vista, though... And, if I ever get around to having some vampires, I'd probably send them off to Midnight Hollow just for the atmosphere. They'd probably wind up moving there altogether, though. (Lots of ideas!)

I'd definitely go for the island scene myself! I love lounging on a beach and swimming and boating and diving. Just plop my save in your saves folder to avoid the lag if you like (found in my siggie).

For this couple they had a late honeymoon but I sent them to Suvadiva Resort.

This seems to be a four year old thread brought to life by someone spamming about real-life honeymoons... but your pictures are gorgeous, @Deshong04 !

Thanks, I usually look at the date since it's become such a HUGE issue regardless of on-topic posts. I guess I forgot to look this time around. Oh well. Still, sometimes old threads can be more interesting than recent ones but it usually always get penalized for forum participation because of a forum rule. It is what it is.

@OriginalMara I was going to suggest Suvadiva Resort, I have it also and it is very nice. Your sims will love it there. All you need to do is download it.
