    "Yay. Try the wire, then?"

"Try using the wire to fish it out," Dr. Sapphira offered, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. Relief washed over Katie. This seemed simple enough. She plunged the wire into the bowl, the cool metal sending a shiver down her arm. But as she pushed it deeper, her heart sank. The darn wire was too short! It strained pathetically towards the key, a cruel reminder of their precarious situation.

London glances around the room and rubs his chin.

"You know...we still have the 4-digit number we found under the bed. Maybe that would work as a password for the computer."

He walks over to the computer and types in 5687.

"Well, I tried. I wonder about the rope. Maybe this will fish out the key."

He tries to tie a loop in the rope. Then, he takes the wire and tries to attach it to the rope. He slowly lowers it into the fish bowl, aiming it at the key.

With trembling hands, they use the wire and rope to fashion a makeshift fishing hook. The silence in the room stretches as they carefully lower their precarious contraption into the piranha's domain. A sickening tug on the rope sends a jolt through them. Had they snagged the key, or something far more sinister? Slowly, they reel in the line, their breaths held tight. There, glinting in the dim light, is the key! Relief washes over them as they secure their hard-won prize, leaving the piranha to its watery prison.

London grabs the key with a yell of victory and runs to the glass door, hoping its locking mechanism will twist easily under the twist of his wrist.

The ornately carved key feels cold and heavy in their palm, a tangible symbol of hope in this decaying castle. With a mix of trepidation and newfound determination, they approach the glass display case guarding the statue. The key slides smoothly into the lock, and with a satisfying click, the door swings open, revealing the secrets the statue has held captive for centuries.

London uses his hands to wipe off the dust. He blows on it as well, gently as to not choke on the mysterious layers.

Casting a wary eye around the room, London searched for something to tackle the dust. A glint of fabric caught his attention - a forgotten cloth draped on the armchair. With the cloth, they gingerly begin to wipe away the grime. As the dust gives way, a glint of metal catches their eye. Etched onto the statue's surface, barely visible beneath centuries of neglect, is a cryptic message:

Quinn puzzles over the message, relying on his experience with word puzzles in which you have to deciper messages written backward. "Well, that has to mean Dracula right? But what does it mean? It would be too easy if this was the computer's password. Oh, I have an idea...." *Quinn thinks some here, then goes to the computer and types in alucarD.

Elated, they punch in the password "Dracula" on the PC screen. A tense silence hangs in the air, broken only by the whirring of the machine. Suddenly, a low tremor shakes the room, sending shivers down their spines. From the direction of the grand hall, a deep, ominous rumble echoes through the castle. The ground beneath their feet vibrates, and dust motes dance in the flickering torchlight. Has their success triggered some ancient mechanism? They exchange nervous glances, the weight of their actions settling in. What awaits them in the grand hall now that they've unlocked its secrets?

Their hearts pound in unison with the castle's ominous tremors. As the rumbling subsides, they turn their attention back to the grand hall entrance. The air hangs heavy with anticipation. Then, a marvel unfolds before their eyes. A previously hidden section of the floor gives way, revealing a set of descending stairs shrouded in an inky blackness. The inscription's cryptic message may have granted them passage, but where will these newfound stairs lead them? Downward, into the very heart of Dracula's castle? A new challenge awaits, one that promises both peril and, perhaps, the key to their escape.

    Congratz! You solved the puzzle!

Any chance that Katie can take the piranha bowl with her as a rescue?

    Group 1/Challenge 4:
You push open the creaky left-hand door in the passage, revealing a narrow walkway shrouded in dim light. To your right, the walkway dead-ends at a sturdy, ornately-carved wooden door that appears firmly locked. A shiver runs down your spine as you glance to the left. There, a set of dusty stone stairs spiral upwards, beckoning you into the unknown.
With a mix of trepidation and determination, you ascend the stairs, each step echoing eerily in the silence. Reaching the top, you find yourself on a wide balcony overlooking the passage below. Two grand double doors lead into what appears to be the main bedroom, but a gleaming silver lock thwarts your attempt to enter. Your gaze then falls upon a smaller, octagonal room nestled beside the bedroom. Inside, a lone desk with a dusty computer sits amidst a clutter of mysterious objects, bathed in the faint glow of the moon filtering through a cobweb-draped window. A sense of anticipation hangs heavy in the air, urging you to delve deeper into the secrets this room may hold.
