Evolving plants in my game is taking way too long. Loving all the new things in The Sims Seasons. The gardening update however has me a bit frustrated. I understand having different plants grow in certain seasons. The glitch with wild plants spawning in multiples is weird but just leaves more for harvesting. My main concern is why does it take so very long to evolve plants. The Freelance Botanist aspiration requires 5 plants to be evolved. My gardener planted the very first day on the lot. He finally has evolved 4 of the 5 required plants. Gardening skills are maxed at level 10 and he has had two youth potions... so far. He does all of the gardening interactions several times a day. Some plants were moved indoors. Now they are all indoors. I added bees to the greenhouse but still see very little evidence of plants progressing.
Grafting is also suspect. I have tried in 3 different saves with different Sims. Example is grafting strawberries with snapdragons to get dragonfruit. I can take a cutting and graft but dragonfruit does not appear. What am I doing wrong?
Edit:

I noticed the issue after the patch and before installing Seasons. I have tested in Willow Creek, Newcrest and now in Oasis Springs.
I have pulled out the sims folder before and after the patch. I am deleting the caches and repairing game. My 3 different test Sims (different saves) rarely travel. I was keeping them on the home lot with the hope that would allow the plants to evolve. I gave used various fish as no plants to fertilize but it does not seem to make a difference.

Otherwise the gardening update is very nice. Before this, the gardening system was clunky.
Going to be watching for updates and hope it is resolved soon.
Level 2:
Achieve Level 4 Gardening Skill
Evolve 5 different plants
Level 3:
Achieve Level 6 Gardening Skill
Graft onto 3 plants
Fertilize 5 plants
This has always seemed backwards to me. I have always thought the fertilizing goal should be level two of the aspiration with evolving under level three. As it stands (and as previous stated) my gardeners reach level ten way before even completing the second stage of this aspiration. And with grafting on the fritz growing a cowplant is out of the question unless you happen to catch one while fishing.

On the other hand, it appears that using fresh produce in your recipes no longer makes the food inedible if the produce is 'nice' or 'normal'.

I found that we got some new cheats for plants. After 'testingcheats on', click on plants while holding shift key. I was able to make 'perfect' quality within 10 mins. Even it works for the wild plants.
My spliced strawberry / snapdragon plant includes dragonfruit in the description. However no dragonfruit has appeared to harvest.
Hello
The latest patch has fixed the issue with the labeling, but simmers have been posting that they still haven’t been able get the resulting hybrid fruit.

1. Plants only produce 2-6 harvestables per day. (I have tested waiting for 3 days. This value doesn't increase. Also each plant seems to have a limit. eg. Orchid plant only produces 2 per day, Begonias produces 6 per day, Apple trees produces 5 etc. This value doesn't change, though I think this is intentional, most likely to make higher rarity harvestables less convenient).
2. Grafted fruit doesn't produce. (I would assume that its tied to the first reason, but common grafted harvestables still produce. eg. Cherry grafted to apple still produces cherries and apples, but no pomegranate).
Its inconvenient, but its not like we're completely locked out of the fruit, which is good, however I've noticed that even if I graft a shoot from a rare plant to any other plant(eg. orchid shoot to bluebell plant), that harvestable too will never produce. Period. It seems as if this feature has
been locked out. I'll do more testing to see if I can find anything else.
For buying seed packets, I had to waste 5,000 simoleons to get just death flower seeds. And for other packets, I got magic bean? which I really don’t know about this collection. I went on a journey to the sims 3 for a long time. Anyway, I didn’t want to collect these but now I collected all but one from the rare seed packets. It costs 1,000 simoleons to get one packet. If I was unlucky, I would waste a lot of simoleons. It will be ok for the rich sims but otherwise, it’s rarely helpful. I'm still waiting for the bird of paradise. I couldn't get this from 10 rare seed packets. I'm wondered why Maxis put lots of magic beans in rare seed packets. Even I'm not able to plant them on the ground.
You have to buy the tree stump for them. Place the seeds in the hollows on the stump. You get a magic portal tree that gives you forbidden fruit, which you can plant to grow more fruit or eat to turn into a plant Sim for a few days.
