Alec was delighted to see her... but the Queen wasn't pleased to see him at all! In fact, she was horrified by him.
(I was actually going to end this with Alec and Cleopatra flirting and going on a date, but Cleopatra spontaneously reacted like this and it made me laugh, so I'll leave it at that. What a twist, Alec - the mummy thinks YOU are a horrible creature!)

This is either going to be tremendously long or broken into two parts...my laptop was against this part of the story from the get go and konked out 4 times over the course of the two days I needed for setting up and playing. It was going to be a very different chapter, but I decided to do VJ's backstory instead of what I originally had in mind, I like it much better.

They both got jobs as teachers at the school, Iqbal was an English teacher and Marianna was the music teacher. VJ was happy to have both his parents working at his school, he loved seeing his mom and dad in the hallways. They all walked home together after school.
A surprise in the form of a second son showed up a few years later, they named him Miraj.
VJ adored his baby brother, he couldn't wait till he was old enough to play with.
Since Miraj's birth Marianna and Iqbal had started bickering about money, Iqbal was a saver, Marianna was a spender. After a heated exchange Marianna took Maraj and went for a walk.

A handsome stranger walked over and introduced himself as Devon Green.
Through their conversation Marianna found out he was to be her assistant music teacher, specializing in piano. Marianna loved piano, she had her grandmother's piano and told Devon he was welcome to come over and play it whenever he liked.
They talked until Maraj needed to be fed and was getting grumpy Marianna excused herself and headed home.
Devon took Marianna up on her offer frequently though out the next few years, he and Marianna were very good friends by that time, they were spending a lot of free time together.
Marianna put on a good show in front of VJ and Iqbal but something was brewing..
"Can I talk to you in the kitchen Marianna?"
"I've been laid off from my teaching job, they decided to combing the 9th and 10 grade English classes so they don't need me anymore, I'm going to get 6 months pay and am thinking about staying home and writing a book.."
"How will we make ends meet after the 6 months Iqbal?"
"I'll be done with the book by then and will get a job somewhere in town, don't worry, it will all work out."

"VJ, they're fighting again...Maraj whispered to VJ, he was getting very upset with all the yelling going on lately.
"Come her little buddy..." VJ embraced his little brother. "I'll take care of you..."
Iqbal rushed upstairs trying to get the finishing touches on the last 5 chapters of his book...he was determined to save his marriage.
Little did he know it was already ruined...
"Did you tell him?" Devon asked.
"Yes, I told him, I don't think he believed me though.."
"He'll believe you tomorrow when you're not there! Are you sure you're okay leaving the kids with him?"
"One thing Iqbal is great at is being a father, the kids adore him, VJ just got on the honor roll for the 15th time in a row because of Iqbal helping him with homework."
"Come here...." Devon pulled Marianna into a kiss. "I can't wait until you're officially mine!" he murmured.

Anyway not much to report from me today. I still have a video to work on but not even started that yet. My main thing is looking forward to sharing my Sim Emily again soon but now is not the time for that just yet but I can feel her communicating with me!
Braden realized that when he'd gotten home that he'd forgotten to take the permission slips from the trip back to the city hall. So once he'd finished his homework, he cycled back to city hall and dropped them off. River sold yet another painting...this time to Sandi French; they were not related by blood, but now they were related by family ties, considering that both Molly and she were married to men of the Chikamori family. Defined, Sandi would be considered her Uncle-in-law's step-daughter or a step-cousin-in-law...(holy cripes, that's confusing). Relative or not, it was services paid for services rendered.
With all the recent complaining about homework and all that, Haruo and River decided to show their children just how important education was...and enrolled in university. After a discussion with their children to keep up their grades while Haruo and River pursued their degree, they enrolled in university. Yasunobu and Susan would take care of the children while River and Haruo were off at the University of British Columbia. Yay. "Tuum Est"
And so they departed for their first term with a send-off from Susan, "Study hard!!!" Of course, the moving van appeared and Haruo and River got in... and off they went for higher learning. As mature students, they weren't as pre-disposed to fun hijinks and other university pranks. Their goal was to study, get their degree and get home. Although in their case, it would take two trips to University to do so. For economy's sake, they tried living in the dorm. ...and Haruo got himself a varsity jacket and a more fitting hairstyle, at least for university. Welcome to the University of British Columbia. Of course there was a vocal minority trying to change the university mascot from the Llama to the Thunderbirds quoting that it was a more fitting mascot than an Andean long-necked sheep. Well...you can see who won...

"Yeah, cheating on dad and abandoning us! We both heard you and dad fighting..."
"VJ, I haven't been in love with your dad for awhile, it just fell apart, I'm in love with Devon, and we want a fresh start..."

"I will come back to see you every summer vacation, I love you boys but your dad was always the better parent.."

Everyone was "dealing" with the divorce in their own ways, Miraj was very quiet, Iqbal had started drinking... ..and VJ sunk into his studies, he was already the golden child, strait A's for years on end, college looks very possible, he was popular and kind to all.

"Dad please stop drinking!" VJ begged after his dad has started drinking in the middle of the day and well into the night..
Iqbal stumbled into the living room..VJ followed.
"Leave me alone you stooped little sh*it!!" Iqbal slurred.
VJ was stunned, his father had never called him names before, he was the kindest man on the planet..
"Dad please, you need to stop drinking, it's not helping anything, it won't make mom come back!" VJ yelled at his dad, feeling anger well up, he had already lost his mother and his father was on a downward spiral, he couldn't bear it.
"You shut your da*mn mouth!!" Iqbal yelled..
He then hauled out and slapped VJ with all his might, VJ felt his cheek sting and his teeth rattle..
That was the day the sweet kind VJ died, he was angry, his dad was a drunk and his little brother was a mute, never wanting to even try to talk to VJ. VJ was alone except for his three best friends none of whom knew how bad things were at home, they had their own problems, they didn't want to hear how VJ's world was falling apart around him...he was 13 and all alone in the world.
He decided to change his looks and attitude to match how he was feeling inside...MAD!
Ummm... so update on my sims game today. I created a family of 6 to help populate the town, 2 parents, 2 teens, 2 kids. The parents are happily married, or so I thought! I had my teen go over to hang out at their house today and when I walked in the mom was making out with Nancy Landgrab... Doesn't she have a husband too?
Does this mean they'll end up getting divorced and such? Also, I'm not saying it's wrong or anything (it's actually quite funny), but doesn't the game usually put females with males?
@Chi5678 I think each sim starts with a 50/50 chance of gender choice and it depends on what happens with them as the game progresses which gender they prefer. If you don't want same gender couples you'll need to intervene early in their friendships to get them to prefer the gender you want them to go with. The longer they gravitate to a particular gender it becomes harder to get them to switch.

Morning involved a little run. Since Haruo and River had arrived on campus on a weekend; they ended up with a day to kill before classes started. Then he went off to train on the weight machine. Evidently BC has a different weather system than the rest of the country because it was nice and warm...and it had transitioned to December there...but everyone was mentioning that it was going to be a cold-snap coming down as the Arctic weather front was going to move into the region in a few days. River was mentally psyching herself up for classes and a bit of me-time over at the coffee-shop was just what the doctor ordered. The snacks sold at the coffee shop were quite delicious...the only thing that she missed was Nanaimo bars...and unfortunately this coffeeshop didn't seem to have them. Oh well, she could subsist on brownies, but that would entail that she needed to work out to keep her trim figure. Haruo in the meantime was working out his muscles and huffing and puffing on the weight machine...after all, the jocks tended to do such stuff and well, he was married...and wanted to look appealing to the hot wife that he had. ...and decided that he would do an intense workout designed to build muscle and body-mass. ...and tried to ignore the red-headed eye-candy at the machine next to him. and River got some undue attention from the unattached boys loitering around the coffee shop, "I'm sorry, boys, I'm flattered, really, but I have a husband and four kids...better luck next time..." Boys: "Aw, plum...told ya she was married, from the ring on her finger..." River decided to bike over to the gym and meet up with hubby. And sure enough, he was on the weight machine. After a shower (separately...mind you, no sneaking into the women's shower room to woohoo with River...) they sat down for a bit on the sofa outside to kind of wind down after the good workout. ...and of course the obligatory college selfie. Of course, they had to get something to eat to replenish their famished stomachs after the workout. ...and a little woohoo was in order considering that they had some time to do so...before classes really got into session. Of course, they had dealt with orientation...and things before getting the rest of the day to enjoy themselves. ...and so concluded their first day on campus and tomorrow the real classes would start.

@Chi5678 The sims have a very loose set of morals and if you don't watch them like a hawk they will make out, romance, fall in love, fall out of love, slap, yell or scream with any other sim at any given moment. If you are enjoy watching your sims it won't matter to you. If you have your own ideas for stories than you have to watch them, guide them, lower the autonomy, or use mods to mod out behaviors you don't like. I watch mine like a hawk. Mostly they behave as I do use mods and lower autonomy at times if I have a busy household.
Melee arrived early for her show. She set the stage with the help of a couple of stage hands. All her friends were working and wouldn't be able to come for the start of the show since it started so early in the afternoon. She was nervous and kinda glad they would not be there in case she really messed up. She spoke to the proprietor to try to calm her nerves and then changed in the rest rooms and got on the stage.
There were a few people in the park, a couple having a late lunch or early dinner. Another playing piano at the edge of the lot. The proprietor finally went over and asked her to stop. She started off the show with one of her favorite songs and as she started singing her nerves calmed and she went into her zone. All she cared about was the music and the song and having fun. It showed in her performance as the piano player moved closer to the stage and the couple sat on their picnic blanket and watched the show. Brian and Jared arrived and came right up to the stage to cheer her on. Alexandra arrived just in time for the finale of the show. She hurried on the stage and gave her a big hug congratulating her on a successful show. The reviews were in and report that a new star is on the horizon. The four of them were starving and had a celebratory dinner at the diner.
They had all settled in bed when the alarm went off downstairs. Jared hurried down and was able to stop the burglar from making off with the computer and book case. The burglar tried to run off just as the police arrived and she and Jared had a knock down fight. Jared was successful in stopping her, but, he sustained a few injuries from those huge weapons (bo.obs) she has. The burglar is apparently unable to walk completely upright presumably also related to those assets of hers. The police were grateful to Jared for assisting with the capture...uh duh, he captured her period, no assisting to it. They sent a 500.00 simeolean check to him.
(Creator thinks a 12 year old boy helped design the townies, bartenders, and homeless in Bridgeport as they all have huge and somewhat misshapen assets)

Everyone was "dealing" with the divorce in their own ways, Miraj was very quiet, Iqbal had started drinking... ..and VJ sunk into his studies, he was already the golden child, strait A's for years on end, college looks very possible, he was popular and kind to all.
There was booze everywhere!
"Dad please stop drinking!" VJ begged after his dad has started drinking in the middle of the day and well into the night..
Iqbal stumbled into the living room..VJ followed.
"Leave me alone you stooped little sh*it!!" Iqbal slurred.
VJ was stunned, his father had never called him names before, he was the kindest man on the planet..
"Dad please, you need to stop drinking, it's not helping anything, it won't make mom come back!" VJ yelled at his dad, feeling anger well up, he had already lost his mother and his father was on a downward spiral, he couldn't bear it.
"You shut your da*mn mouth!!" Iqbal yelled..
He then hauled out and slapped VJ with all his might, VJ felt his cheek sting and his teeth rattle..
That was the day the sweet kind VJ died, he was angry, his dad was a drunk and his little brother was a mute, never wanting to even try to talk to VJ. VJ was alone except for his three best friends none of whom knew how bad things were at home, they had their own problems, they didn't want to hear how VJ's world was falling apart around him...he was 13 and all alone in the world.
He decided to change his looks and attitude to match how he was feeling inside...MAD!

****I think gender preference is randomly generated. They could just both be tagged as undecided in the game files.
@Charlottesmom Just 'cause VJ's mom is a 🐸🐸🐸🐸 doesn't give him the right to obsess/hit/stalk/abuse. (I know you probably know that, it just felt like it needed to be said anyway).

Got Bellamy a job in the salon. Haven't un-NPC'd any of the others in the household yet, though. Still debating it.

First Day on Campus
Morning involved a little run. Since Haruo and River had arrived on campus on a weekend; they ended up with a day to kill before classes started.

@MoonandStars83 , Oh you can bet I know that, but I did research for the story and learned abuse runs in families and wanted to show that VJ’s childhood was not a basket of roses. I didn’t want his abuse of Meggie just pulled out of thin air, that would make no sense.

@Charlottesmom I enjoyed the updates. Great backstory on VJ's parents. Sorry the puter was acting up. Love the pic of her talking to husband, but her eyes are on her lover. Great catch. VJ certainly has a sad back story, you had alluded to it, but this explains it in depth. Makes me more worried about her than I was. Watched too many Criminal Mind episodes!

@Chi5678 The sims have a very loose set of morals and if you don't watch them like a hawk they will make out, romance, fall in love, fall out of love, slap, yell or scream with any other sim at any given moment. If you are enjoy watching your sims it won't matter to you. If you have your own ideas for stories than you have to watch them, guide them, lower the autonomy, or use mods to mod out behaviors you don't like. I watch mine like a hawk. Mostly they behave as I do use mods and lower autonomy at times if I have a busy household.
The Cowboy and the Mermaid
First show
Melee arrived early for her show. She set the stage with the help of a couple of stage hands. All her friends were working and wouldn't be able to come for the start of the show since it started so early in the afternoon. She was nervous and kinda glad they would not be there in case she really messed up. She spoke to the proprietor to try to calm her nerves and then changed in the rest rooms and got on the stage.
There were a few people in the park, a couple having a late lunch or early dinner. Another playing piano at the edge of the lot. The proprietor finally went over and asked her to stop. She started off the show with one of her favorite songs and as she started singing her nerves calmed and she went into her zone. All she cared about was the music and the song and having fun. It showed in her performance as the piano player moved closer to the stage and the couple sat on their picnic blanket and watched the show. Brian and Jared arrived and came right up to the stage to cheer her on. Alexandra arrived just in time for the finale of the show. She hurried on the stage and gave her a big hug congratulating her on a successful show. The reviews were in and report that a new star is on the horizon. The four of them were starving and had a celebratory dinner at the diner.
They had all settled in bed when the alarm went off downstairs. Jared hurried down and was able to stop the burglar from making off with the computer and book case. The burglar tried to run off just as the police arrived and she and Jared had a knock down fight. Jared was successful in stopping her, but, he sustained a few injuries from those huge weapons (bo.obs) she has. The burglar is apparently unable to walk completely upright presumably also related to those assets of hers. The police were grateful to Jared for assisting with the capture...uh duh, he captured her period, no assisting to it. They sent a 500.00 simeolean check to him.
(Creator thinks a 12 year old boy helped design the townies, bartenders, and homeless in Bridgeport as they all have huge and somewhat misshapen assets)
