Woohoo! Thank you for the review and the award. I can't wait to hear what the next challenge is!
Yay!! Thanks so much, @fabtiffsim! My son is getting married in August so maybe someday soon I'll even get to BE the creepy grandma!! I had a kooky grandma too. She practiced a lot of 'Witchcraft' but to her it wasn't magic, it was just what you did when you had a problem. She also went to mass several times a week and LOVED her saints. Jesus was just too busy, she used to say. Have a great feets-up on the couch and looking forward to the next challenge! Thanks everyone for the great builds! I love looking at the builds on this thread!
The new challenge is up! There is a lot of capslock so my apologies for that. There is also a lot of reading which is most definitely NOT required haha it's just a lot of different inspirations you could choose from. They're all from the wikipedia page so feel free to find ANY different ideas. It's way way way open to interpretation and I greatly look forward to all of the many different variations of ANCIENT GARDENS we will get to see!!!

Do a small farm in the Carpathians? noooo, Perhaps a Celtic beehive house and step garden? nooo. I decided to take on Babylon. This has been, by far, my most ambitious build.

Back story: Assyria (her parents honeymooned there, loved it, hence the name) dreams of becoming an artist and working on the great mosaics in the temples of Babylon. As a worker in the hanging gardens, she has frequent opportunity to glance at the fine work of mosaic artists like Yehuda. Yehuda catches the girl admiring his handiwork and it is love at first sight. However, upon asking his family for permission to marry her if she'll convert, (They're Jewish) he is told that he is actually the Queen's half-brother. He was placed with them as an infant to protect him from the insane queen in case she decided he was a threat to her throne. Will Yehuda (nee Gilgamesh) come forward as royalty and claim his throne? Will he stay silent and instead pursue the woman he loves? Is Assyria even interested? Will crazy Queen Ereshkigal end this by killing them all for shabby garden and mosaic work? With his new information, will Yehuda break down and eat a pork chop? All to be revealed on the next episode of "As the Flat World Rotates"
Link to pics: http://imgur.com/a/BfJig - I will probably be adding to this before the end of the challenge, but I think I got all the rooms - just not a lot of Babylonians.

Wow, @Rosemow! Thanks so much for taking the time to really look at my build. I'm kind of awestruck! I very much appreciate it! It was the biggest build I've done and man is it a lot of work to do one this big. Thanks again!!
Wow @Ainsleyf your Babylonian temple is incredible! I love the baths and water temple, how you done the beds in the servants quarter and actually just everything!!! I don't know how you managed to get such a big and detailed build done so fast I'm in awe!
Thank you so much folala!!! I pretty much did nothing but eat, sleep and build for nearly three days (oh..and laundry and grocery shopping). I had a couple of days off work. Anyway..I was making my Queen and could not stop thinking that she needed to look like your Sumerian. No queen I made was right because she didn't. I finally had to face the fact that to me, you have set all the fashion standards for the Mesopotamian Simlish woman. I am trying to work a Babylonian Fashionista named Folala into my back-story.
Thanks so much, @fabtiffsim! That's a very lovely thing to say! Thanks again @folala and @rosemow. The vote of confidence from you all is greatly appreciated.

Lol @Ainsleyf you have me in stitches with laughter here! I think its time to start petitioning Maxis for an 'Uruk fashion week' stuff pack!

Back story: I've been meaning to build a Japanese garden for ages and ages but just hadn't gotten around to it so this was the perfect opportunity. I know very little about the history of Japanese gardens but I looked up stuff and settled on Heian period (794-1185) gardens. In this time period there was a novel written called 'Tales of Genji' that describes the gardens in great detail so even though none still exist we have a fair idea of what they looked like. Also, because I'm lazy, I used four of the main characters from said novel for my backstory
So, We have the prince Hikaru Genji and his father is the emperor Kiritsubo no Mikado. Genji is a terrible playboy, womanising up a storm and getting up to lots of mischief. His mother wasn't that high up the social climbing ladder so while she was one of the emperors favourite wives he doesn't have lots of family in the court watching his back. In steps another jealous and very ambitious wife who wants Genji out of the way so her son can become heir apparent. Its not that hard for her to find some dirt on him and when he's found out having an affair with one of the emperors concubines he has to demote him from the line of succession. Meanwhile the Emperor who really misses Genjis mother finds yet another wife who happens to look almost exactly the same. And guess what? Genji ends up having an affair with her too. Seriously, what is wrong with this guy?!
