It will be great to see what type of sim and build that simmers decide to do for the new challenge! ( i think that you mean April not March 4th as the due date )
@fabtiffsim - I LOVE the new challenge. SO excited. YAY Pagany stuff! New thing to get obsessed over and use to avoid doing laundry! Haha! And, I just posted to that link you suggested yesterday, so I'll check on it in a bit. Thanks again!

ahaha you should! You gotta take those little victories and run with them!
I'm so glad to find this thread for ancient builds, as I do make a lot of them in Sims 4. If you have any new challenges that resemble after real-life ancient civilizations, please let me know. It's amazing to see other simmers create such beautiful builds and inspire others.

Back story: Okay, so we're only going back about 1200 years here...hope that's acceptable. Baba Yaga is probably the most famous character in Russian folklore. She lived in a house on chicken feet that would turn to you and let you enter if you knew the right words. Her yard was surrounded, and illuminated, by skulls with flaming eyes, raised high on posts. She could be helpful to the people who showed her respect, but usually killed and ate her visitors. For the right person, however, she could either initiate them into the world of magic and teach them all of her secrets, or show them to the path of great destiny.

Baba Yaga's Hut looks great! @ainsleyf The exterior design of the home and the way that you have done the outdoors areas looks very great! The skulls look very scary on the posts! You are so very creative! The design of the home with it being built on chickens legs looks great! Very nice curving roofing! The upper flower box balcony looks very nice, The front steps look great how they are placed for sims to enter the home. The alien plants in the outdoors areas give such a great look and feel to the build! The pink terrain paint flowers looks very nice. It is nice that the wishing well is in the build. The cauldron looks great on the front porch. Very nice design and furnishing of the kitchen! The items on the counters, tables and walls, and the candles. and jars on the fireplace ledge look very great! The mounted fish are a nice touch on the wall. The bookcase looks great in the room The red curtains in the areas of the home look very effective to go with the black walls! The layout of the home looks very nice! Very nice red and black colour scheme of the home! The nook areas in the upper level look very nice! Nice nook area where there is the table with the red and white candles. The study desk table is nice. The bookshelves look nice placed on either sides of the nook. The type of bed used looks very nice.
It is a very creatively designed build!

I'm so glad you like it!! You're always welcome to do the challenge and tell us about the REAL civilization the build is inspired by, it doesn't have to be made up! I'd love to see your creations!!
@Ainsleyf you are so speedy!!! What a great build!! -
I just got obsessive over it and did nothing but build for a couple of days...and work...and eat...and I DID shower. I know I used glass and no one would have had glass back then...or shiny metal tea sets, but.... Houses on chicken feet probably weren't real either. I just couldn't resist doing Baba Jaga. If anyone is interested in the most popular Baba Yaga/Jaga myth...you can google "Vasilisa the Brave/Wise/Beautiful" Thanks!!
@fabtiffsim! I had so much fun building Baba Yaga's that I'm starting another healer project. I'm going back a little farther in history and getting out of my Eastern European comfort zone.... Mind if I post it here too?

I hope you DO post it here! I'd love to see it! I'll "judge" both of them!

Back story: The Shaman in Altantsetseg's tribe passed on before he could complete his apprentice, Altantsetseg's, training. Her tribe has set up a camp for her, a little way away from the main camp, so she can have the solitude she needs to commune with the spirits and become a full Shaman in her own right. She has a main yurt for living and a smaller yurt for seeing those seeking her help. Her living quarters contain a small ancestral altar which also honor the horse spirit, an integral part of the lives of the Mongolian people. The altar image is that of a tree, as with it's branches in the sky and it's roots in the Earth, it was seen as a way to communicate with both the spirits of the dead and the spirits above.

Shaman's Yurt looks great! @Ainsleyf The exterior design of the yurts looks very nice! The roofing looks great! The animal skull is a great touch on the roof. It was great reading the background details to the bulld and about the altar image. You are very creative in your designing of the areas of the build! The outdoors areas look great! The smoking fish grill area is a nice touch, and the shaman's music drum area looks creatively great! Very nice furnishing of the interior of the yurts! The patterned floor rugs give such a great look to the yurts! It is nice that there is a massage table in one of the yurts. Sims will like coming to the yurt for a healing massage. The garlic is a great touch hanging on the wall! The patterned tapestries look very nice on the walls and suit well the bulld's theme. The wooden interior wall texture gives a great feel to the build. The type of doors used suits well the type of building. The central firepit area looks great! It looks very nice that it is in the middle of the yurt, with ottoman seating placed around it.
It is a very creatively designed and furnished build!
Thanks @Rosemow. I'm in shock! I didn't think it deserved it. I can guarantee, however, my yurts won't get favorited! Haha!! I do really like my little fake drums, though.
