Can anyone experiencing this issue please send me your DxDiags? I know they're typically pages long and I don't wanna blow this thread up, so feel free to send me a private message
Hello
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report.
You can then upload the text file to http://pastebin.com/ or a file sharing site such as Dropbox, google drive or mediafire and pm the link to SimGuruNick
Thanks @rosemow! When you click Save All Information, it'll allow you to save everything in a text doc. You can copy/paste everything in there to me in a Private Message, or you can upload the text document to a free file sharing site (Google Drive, Dropbox, mediafire, etc). Whatever you prefer
I should also mention that DxDiags can only be grabbed on Windows machines. Which brings me to a very important question: is anyone experiencing this lag on a Mac machine?
does anyone have a clue when they're going to fix these bugs & issues?
Hello
If you are experiencing lagginess in your game, it would be good if you could upload your diaxdiag info to a file sharing site then post a link to the file on SimGuruNick's wall. Because you aren't a full member yet, you are unable to meesage him the link.
Doing this will help the developers as they are working to find the causes of the issues that are occurring.
Someone mentioned that if you play offline (turn off online features from your in game settings), you won't get the lag. So maybe try that cuz I play offline too. You don't have to go offline on Origin, just the in-game will do.
Hello.
Just to add onto what DeKay suggested , try going to game options, and unticking : Online Notifications, and On line access, Then see if that helps the issues.
When you want to access the gallery, you will need to tick the online access box to access the gallery again.

Going completely offline really does make a difference. I hope that this is only a temporary solution though.
Thanks for the tips!
@SimGuruNick I am on a Mac and I am experiencing lag that I have not had before. I got the spinning beach ball a number of times while playing yesterday after I patched. I felt the game ran smoother and crisper than previously but now have these little beach ball hiccups. Do you want me to send my info? If so, how and what info do you need from me?
I just wanted to add that the lag did not start with the patch, but with the day of the dead update. When this began I had momentary lags that didn't last long, which I assumed was due to creation of special characters. It was worsened with the patch. I updated to 74 bit in Origin which helped but there is still some lagging.
Just in case it helps someone else, I thought I'd mentioned what I discovered was the problem for me. I had tried clearing my cache and repairing, updating my drivers, turning Origin in game off, switching from 64 bit to 32 bit (which made it worse), and going offline, and none of those steps made a difference for me. I then performed a complete uninstall and reinstall (having copied off my saves, tray, etc. first). Hopped back into the game, and it was a speed demon. Exited and copied my saves back, re-entered, and it was still fine. Exited and copied my Tray back, re-entered, and the lag was back. So, in my case, it seems to be related to the contents of my Tray folder, and I do have many items in there that I've downloaded over the years. However, I had just as many prior to the patch without experiencing this lag, so it seems like something new is happening where the game is checking/loading stuff from that folder too often (but I'll let the devs figure that out). Anyway, for now, I can get away from the lag by cutting and pasting the contents of my Tray folder elsewhere. I really hope I won't be required to clear out most of the Tray, because there are so many good items that I would have trouble finding again in the future, but it may come down to that...

Replying to state I'm having similar issues, where the game will periodically lag for short periods of time, happening often enough that I can't pin point any action that may be causing it. Initial load did seem to be a bit longer than normal not noticing much increase in other loading screens.

Hello
Try switching between 32 bit mode and 64 bit mode and see if one of those modes helps better than the one mode.
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
Or change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 64-bit”
Try playing in offline mode and see if that helps.
Simmers have also been finding that their tray folder ( which holds the files of the sims and households that they have in their library ) has been causing issues.
Try moving your tray folder to the desktop , then test to see if the issues remain. If it helps, then just put back into the new tray folder that has been generated in the sims 4 folder the files of the sims and builds that you want or need to still have in your library. You can put the files back into the tray folder as you want to use the sims or builds in your game, then take them out again afterwards.
Your tray folder ( in your sims 4 folder ) contains the files of the sims households and the lots that you have saved to your library. Each sims household contains 5 files and an extra file for each extra sim. ( 1x .householdbinary, 1x trayitem, 2x .sgi, 1x .hhi and an extra sgi file for each extra sim) A Lot consists of 6-11 files, depending on how many floors your Lot has (1 trayitem file, 1blueprint file and 4 bpi files, and an extra bpi files for each extra floor).
You can sort the tray folder by date /time and that can help you to find which files relate to which sims household or build.
Whenever I go to @SimguruNick 's profile the page shows I need to sign in (which doesn't happen to other members profile) so I can't send anything to him.
I link my DxDiag link here, hope it finds him this way..

Hello @elram76 .
It would be good to post about your issue on a thread in the Mac section of the forums. Mac Simmers there may be able to help you.
