@jillbg Well, I enjoy the Bollywood movies, but I love over-the-top action and super heroes! I can easily buy into the outrageous scenarios. Usually with movies, I just want to be entertained. I see enough real life, thank you very much. So for the most part, I prefer absurd to true-grit in my leisure activities.
@TadOlson We all have our own styles of stories with the sims. That's what makes it fun. ...You're always good at changing out your sims clothing. I'm lazy about that until I finally get tired of seeing them in the same outfits.
@RedDestiny92 Several years ago, I joined a belly dancing troupe. It was actually a lot of fun, especially coming up with the costumes. One time we gave a short performance at an elder-care home. I can't believe we actually did that! But yah, I'm not really an athletic type person either. If the exercise isn't fun, I avoid it like the plague. Terrible.

Davis and Lacey Bell were both up and getting ready for the day early on the final winter morning.
They both got their computers out though Davis had to repair her broken computer before she could do any writing on it.
They had noticed that the temperature had risen in the night and it was now above freezing with the snow starting to melt as they studied.
They were both starting to get ready for work as the snow continued melting.
It was dinnertime for them and the snow was down to just a few patches left on the bare and muddy ground.
It was raining as they left for work and it was getting very soggy out.
It was 9PM when they got home from work and got into bed after changing to new outerwear for spring.
I've been busy the past few days, but today I decided to finish up the updates I had for Roy and Family in the Wild West. They are pretty much posts I've already shared, but some people may not have seen them.
Just a little background. Roy, Holly, and Riley came from my Riverview Criminally Challenged household. I finally moved them from there and set them up in their own home in the Wild, Wild West Revisited CC world.
Holly Thistle was once a ghost witch, who is now a live witch. I made her to keep an exiled, trouble-making Roy company. She ended up falling for him, and I decided she could keep him ...and good riddance!
Riley is Roy's son from Ruby Broke, who is now married to Clyde Farrow (based on RL Clyde Barrow of Bonnie and Clyde fame.)
Roy Thorn is based on Bonnie Parker's RL husband, Roy Thornton. He was created to be a jerk, and he stayed that way, despite my taking pity on him and changing his Loser trait to Athletic after he showed interest in various physical activities. I'll just leave it at that.

Vocal legend Madison Avenue, Kaydence's biological mother, had long been puzzled by her daughter, and, to be frank, by the idea of parenthood in general. Singing and entertaining, came easy for her.
Parenting a child like Kaydence did not. The very bubbly, extroverted Madison had difficulty believing that a daughter of hers preferred books to teddy bears, or that she'd rather read than attend a social function.
Madison, to be fair, had her moments, though, when she at least tried to relate to her daughter. Even though her interactions with her daughter were few and far between, Kaydence enjoyed the times she spent with her.
While their daughter buried her nose in thick books, she and Sebastian led a lifestyle with glitzy parties.
Only recently, Madison publicly acknowledged Kaydence as her daughter at one of her concerts on her world tour.
Even now, Madison didn't quite 'get' her daughter's interest in technological things.
But in interview after interview, after years of pretending Kaydence didn't exist, she was effusively praising her every chance she got. "She's amazing, incredible," she told interviewer Joyce Ann Ward, when Ward brought up Kaydence's book and TV show.
"Have you read your daughter's novel?"
"Actually," Madison replied, "no, I haven't, yet."
@venusdemilosims I hope Madison is really caring about her daughter now she's a little more grown up. There are lots of parents who aren't that interested in children. But could it be because Kaydence is good publicity?

@jillbg Yep Madison has realized that Kaydence being her daughter is good publicity for her. Especially since Kaydence is famous on her own and not riding on her mom's coattails. They're not even in direct 'competition' with each other since they're in different fields, so to speak. Even though physically it's obvious who her mom is.
@Silverofdreams30 I'm glad to hear the weather is good this summer - last one rained away! We're having hot summer weather too in the French Alps - around +30°C (86F)!

@lanlyn Nope, neither Madison nor Sebastian have read their daughter's book. They haven't read her book - but they didn't have to. Kaydence took them inside her world. So, Madison is being a little facetious.
And if Madison would actually read it, she would see A LOT of herself mentioned in it, even if it is in disguise as someone else. The character of 'Celeste Morningstar,' Astra Blythe's social-climbing mother, was no doubt based on Madison. The book may be science fiction, but there are kernels of truth reflected in it.
@jillbg Enjoyed the new update. I don't think the school officials know about Taiga's secret life! And I appreciate that Granny is making the effort now to spend time with her. I do hope her grades in math do improve and that she accepts Connor's help. The poster looks good there in Linn's room. It was something I did on the spur of the moment.
@venusdemilosims Thanks again for letting me "use" Kaydence! Noone at school knows about Taïga being a witch - not even Linn! I think Granny will see to it she takes Connor's and Derek's offer seriously...

@jillbg The movie isn't being made 'yet' actually but it could be. Kaydence and Taiga are similar in that their peers don't know about their secret lives The only one of Kaydence's peers who knows is Terry, and even he doesn't know everything. In Kaydence's case, her fans have no clue that she and Astra are the same person. Or that she's actually done a lot of the things she wrote about in her book...
@venusdemilosims They are quite similar! Taïga can sing and play the guitar and the piano, but she's far from as intelligent as Kaydence, nor is she as emotionally mature... Would anyone believe Kaydence if she told the truth about Simtopia? And now she's protesting about aliens, what will her fellow students make of that?
@jillbg Honestly I wouldn't know how Kaydence's peers would react - particularly her current college classmates. I'm not talking about Skylar and company, but her current college classmates. It's already clear that Savannah's ex-BF is spooked!

I did makeovers to fix the other outerwear of my sims for the new season.I found they were still in snowsuits after the makeovers and had to fix the outfits up.Angel Frankovitch and Ami Jankowsky had both had hair growing out over the winter.
@venusdemilosims Aha! Well then, I guess I'm not so disappointed in Kaydence's parents. But still, her book is created art. It took time and effort. A book is not the same thing as the experience. It interprets; it gives meaning.
Along those lines, I just recently read a quote by Virginia Woolf: "A memoir is not what happens, but the person to whom things happen." Which is very much like what you were saying about Kaydence's book characters: they are "real" even though the story is science fiction.
@TadOlson Did you recently get a new computer? I must have missed that news...or do you mean the old computer you had when you first played Sims 2?
I may not be able to do a lot of new game playing in the next couple of weeks, so I decided to try to get more work done on my blog. My plan is to update the Roaring Heights story and then move on to Riverview. It's going to take some time!
When I first started playing Sims 3, I used mainly memory pics instead of the larger screenshots (even after turning automatic memories off). Eventually, I stopped doing personal memories altogether. But a few of my stories started with those poor quality pics. I'm not going to try to go all the way back through those. I'll just concentrate on the latest updates.
Today though, I did use some of my early shots to give a little background on Roaring Heights and Riverview. Here are the direct links to posts I updated today:

One of Linn's dads is a famous photgrapher,so I just thought it plausible for him to get his daughter a signed poster before anyone else...

Poor Clyde - first beaten by a girl, a mermaid girl! Then attacked by a megaphone! Did he ever recover his hearing?
I think my favorites were Bonnie and Clyde, I loved them in Riverview, and it's nice to see their arrival. I use the manor for the Grey Witches too, I especially love the decrepit, decaying version...

The Grey Witches Part II - Chapter 32 White, Grey or Black?
As the night of the blood moon approaches, Taïga is solicited by different sources of magic.
Missy tries to teach her what she knows, and that can never be good…
… while Granny decides on advancing the beginning of her initiation to keep her safe from the risk of fire.
What difference could a couple of days make anyway? It’s not as if her grandchild never has touched magic before, is it?
