First, I'd like to apologize for the delay in posting my new build with possible new theme. I got distracted with the latest round of the Build N Share Challenge. Anyway, I've posted my entry for that and I have a bit more online time so thought I'd finally share my build. It's called...
Theme: Reality TV... or not? Origin ID: Karababy52 Lot Name & Link:Itty Bitty Bunker Based on: Doomsday Bunkers Gallery Lot Price: 18,344
Description: Tired of the rat race? Need a place to write in peace & quiet? Are you suspicious of all the aliens running around town and want a secure place to hide away? Perhaps you're convinced doomsday is upon us. Whatever your fear, this little underground cement bunker has everything you need to survive. At least until things settle down back to reality... or not. Includes a kitchen, bathroom, single bed tucked under the stairs, TV, computer, bookcase, couch & a survival supplies room. #NoCC
My idea for the new theme would be called, 'Reality TV...or Not?' Thank you @EuphorialQueen for the title suggestion! It would follow the basic rules, except you would have 100 total tiles for the interior and landscaping. The 100 tiles is for each floor, not combined. Budget is unlimited, but if you want to challenge yourself (like I did) use the standard limit of 20,000. Pick your favorite Reality TV show and build a micro mini lot and Sim/Sims to represent that show. Please include the name of which show you are representing with your build. Sound good?
Sorry my pics are so dark, I took them at night and my graphics card isn't exactly the best. Hope you can see them alright. BTW, I'm LOVING all the Micro Mini builds/Sims posted since the last time I was here. Y'all are so talented! I'd try the Dr. Who theme, but I've never seen the show and haven't a clue what it's all about. lol I do know what a Tardis is though. Happy Simming!
@Karababy52 Absolutely love your bunker! Never thought to put the bed under the stairs. Your build is chock full of all the necessities for a loner to survive. Ridge Everest is mucho delicioso. ♡♡♡

And I have a suggestion actually inspired by you @ButtonsGinger. I had a little looky at your sims 3 blog and saw I dream of Jeanie builds.(I loved that show I used to sneak away to the canteen and watch it while I was at work occasionally) so i tried and failed miserably to build something that looked like a genie's bottle. ( I have not given up. ) but thought maybe it would make a good theme.
Finally got my Doctor who build finished Here it is: The interior is very basic I'd like to give a great reason like the aliens that moved in had little use for unfunctional /decorative items or I went with a minimalist theme.
But honesty I have a 6 year old complaining about me taking too long on the computer.
@Karababy52 I just quoted your post for Itty Bitty Bunker and got the "needs to be approved" comment
Anywho.....I love the way you've tucked everything Ridge needs in this tiny space! Btw, I am sure Ridge makes that tin hat look gorgeous! Adding links to index asap. I quoted your challenge and added it to the index! Thanks for the suggestion

Thank you, glad you like it! This build is the first time I've tried putting a bed under the stairs, was surprised & pleased that it's fully functional. Yay! However, I did have to move that shelf further up the wall, Ridge couldn't get in. Guess the poor guy was afraid of possibly smacking his lovely head on it. hehe I agree! He's also the first 'adult' Sim I've played in my game, I usually start them out as 'young adults.'

Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to seeing any Micro Minis Simmers might create for this theme, should be interesting! And thank you for adding it to the index, you're welcome! I'm a teensy bit miffed Ridge can't actually wear the tin hat unless he earns it as a Science career reward. Ah well, I think he's safe enough without it. I don't know how anyone could actually look gorgeous wearing one, but I guess if anyone could rock the look, it might be Ridge. LOL Thanks again!
So many themes ... so little time
Username, Despicable Me, Storage Wars, Petsaplooza, Into the Woods, Under Budget, Under Development, Doctor Who, What happened to the sibling? She ate it (Jurassic Park), Walk in Float out, Where's Waldo?, Dr Seuss and Reality TV...nor Not?? Themes.
WHEW! Such great variety and so many ideas. (Did any body do a dog themed build for Petsaplooza?)
Since we don't have a chat forum just for builders (that I can find) I'm gonna ask you guys, you're my favorite people on the forum anyway. How do you guys feel about clutter in a Sims house. Should it fill every hole? I keep getting the same critiques on builds for challenges, Not enough clutter. I -hate- Clutter. I build all my full size houses so essentially they're ADA accessible, (since they would have to be for me to live there LOL) 2 blocks wide passages and such. Not to many things on the wall so the house looks neat ect. I don't know HOW to clutter it up anyone got tips? This always seeing the same thing is making me not wanna do any challenges but ours anymore.
@PersRealmsShadow I do not know how to clutter. I have to remind myself to put in 'necessary' clutter like the toilet paper roll or things on the tables or night stands. Clutter is a matter of personal taste. To me less is more. I even forget / rarely use window curtains or wall hangings.
My preference in joining a challenge is to join one like this one. Challenge yourself to create instead of Complete with others. Judging is very difficult and is a challenge in itself to remain impartial.
@EuphorialQueen LOL See I always remember the toilet paper, (seldom the curtains though XD) I'm with you on less is more for sure. I've never really done building Challenges until Sims 4, the clutter comments is getting discouraging that's why I'm trying to learn how to do it.
I try to remember the loo roll, and usually add a (debug) plunger by the toilet too . I tend to make small kitchens so I don't have room for much there, except maybe cooking utensils or a washing up liquid bottle (a debug thing, not sure what it really is, though I think it's an ingredient or gardening thing) - or the kids crafting macaroni jar made a bit bigger. There's a coffee bag for the coffee machine and a canister for tea too, and a spray cleaner bottle. Hallway consoles maybe a notebook or other scribbles with an element paperweight. There's some (debug) perfume bottles, lipstick, deodorant and breath spray that are handy on dressers. There's firelighters that are great for mantlepieces and BBQs/grills too, and a fire log item that you can stack next to the fire (OR). A (debug) toothbrush for the counter if it's a single sim and you don't need a whole cup full. You can add shower caddies inside showers opposite the door and it's still accessable. There's a basket of toiletries that can be placed on top of the toilet cistern with MOO. These are some of my tricks anyway. What's more, the debug ones (except collectables) are usually free.
I think the point is to make it look lived in a little. Nobody's house is spotless. Unless they are OCD perhaps, and even then they probably have clutter... Just in nice neat rows arranged by colour or alphabetically.
@EmmaVane ModArt Budget Starter is very nice! I love the curved patio and roof. The brick and teal stone are a nice contrast. The floor plan is super. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us and your cluttering tips! Adding link to index
@PersRealmsShadow I am more of a player than a builder so when I build I tend to put the basics and then leave empty rooms so my sim's whims can be fulfilled. If the house already has everything then it's hard to fulfill their whims. I do like to add curtains and the toilet paper roll I like the house to have that lived in look but not too much. Of course, I don't have time to enter too many of the challenges atm, since my work schedule is so busy.
@EmmaVane I didn't know there was a toilet plunger in the debug items....gotta remember that one!
@EuphorialQueen I agree, I like challenges much better than comps. Just everyone sharing their creations and ideas is super fun.
I usually don't even know that a lot of the stuff is in the game until I see someone else's creation
Clutter is a very personal thing. The ones I suggested are more generic, but the bulk of it would be based on the sim the house is for. This is why build contests have sim backstories (generally). Base the build on requirements and the décor and clutter on personality. I tend to not over-clutter the houses I make for personal use as I like collecting, but you could always clutter then replace with collectables over time.
