i don't know if this is off topic as i'm new but i'm thinking of upgrading to a faster laptop, as my current one is slightly better than my older one, but anyway i found this one is this a good one for gaming
i'll post the name if anyone can research this laptop for me as i can't post link until i'm a member, as i would post a link but as i mentioned i can't
website is www.tesco.com/direct/msi-ge62-156/intel-core-i7-windows-10-16gb-ram-128gb-ssd-1000gb-hdd-gaming-laptops-black
thanks
I can't pull up that item on tesco.com for some reason, but I found it elsewhere. It's more than capable of running all of TS3. You would want to be sure to install TS3 on the 1 TB regular HDD, not the much smaller SSD that it includes. Are you in the UK? There may be better places to shop for better prices and selection than tesco. @phoebebebe13
Hi, I have a file named launchermanifest.pid in the Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder. What is it? And more importantly, is it safe to delete? Thanks in advance.
I forgot to ask, what about LoadOption.ini and Sims3Logs.bin? Safe to delete or not?
I think the first two files are placed there by Patch 1.69 to manage the required handoff from Origin to the Launcher. The Launcher will probably not work, therefore there will be no way to startup the game, without them present. The Sims3Logs.bin file is part of the game's logging function, it's not doing any harm and should stay in place.
I had gotten hidden Springs world and when I try to install it it say's "Susses" when done but when I go in the game it's not there then when I try to install some hair that I paid for it say's "Please make sure your sim's is uptodate." the one I have is 1.69
I'm sorry, but I still don't understand what "susses" means.
(looks around) Does anyone else here understand this error?
hi there i have found that laptop on other websites but tesco has it for the cheapest price, pcworld has it for £1,799,99, does it come with 1000GB or 1TB HDD as it says 1000GB on the item but in the specs it says 1TB
1 TB and 1000 GB are the same thing. There are one thousand gigabytes in a terabyte. (actually 1,024 but many manufacturers use decimal and binary math interchangeably so that small difference gets confusing) It probably didn't help that I made a typo in my first response, now corrected.
if you search MSI gaming laptops the model is the 3rd row down, and last on that section, if that makes it easier for you to find
Got it. The price still seems (a little) high to me, but we are in different countries. It looks like a great choice otherwise, but if you wait for phoebebe's input she may be able to suggest alternatives to consider.
actually i have found a similar model, this one has the GTX 970M graphics card, but looking for anywhere cheaper?
this is the website www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/msi-apache-pro-ge62-15-6-gaming laptop-black
model name is MSI Apache Pro GE62
Thanks
This laptop only has a 128 gb ssd which is small you wont be able to game on it. You would have to put all your games on the second hard drive
This link is custom and good for 7 calendar days. Has a 500 gb ssd plus a 1tb hard drive. a GTX 960m and a new i7 skylake processor 1038 pounds http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/saved/1110463
hi there is that one i mentioned for £533 good for gaming, i'll be using the main HDD for my main reasons
could you check those pages for me please?
pcworld page has it under gaming laptops and amazon has it if you search gaming laptops under computers it's next to the Lenovo Z50 model
That laptop you mention I see for 900 pounds on amazon. If your looking into buying something used in a laptop, I would not go that route. Laptop hardware is not sold to the public , You dont know how the laptop was taken care of or used. You will not find a new laptop in the 500 pound range to run this game. I would suggest going for a desktop. Hardware can be replaced and is sold to the public. Its better and stronger for gaming.
That one is the 960m model sorry 4got to mention the one that is 400-500 is the 970m do u have email or f/b i could PM u the link?
It's against forum rules to give personal info. a laptop with a GTX 970m at 400-to 500 pounds would have to be used and not in great condition. There is no way you would get offered a laptop new with that video card on laptop for that low price. Even a GTX 960m .
You can post the link as long as you put a break in the link

sorry I can't spell right but can any one help me or make fun of me? if so then I'll just leave.

The store patch is separate from the game patch. Im not on patch 1.69 so Im not sure how you update the store patch. I know with the patch I have you open the launcher at desktop and it will prompt the store patch. @Simasaurus09 are you on patch 1.69? How does the store patch on 1.69? Thanks
here's the 970m model for you to have a look at, there are 2 for sale, neither have been used
can't post link but if u search MSI gaming laptop under computers department and it's the 3rd one on the first page
Seriously? You posted UK links and I have continued to post UK links. Find a way to post the link or please find someone else willing to help you. I don't have time for this

I honestly did not understand what you were saying and at first was asking if the other tech responders here did, was not making fun of anyone. It took me over half an hour to realize that you might have meant the message displayed was "success" (which you still have not confirmed) and trying to figure that out was not a very good use of my time. Sorry that I couldn't be of better assistance.
What you might want to do is open up a support thread at EA Answers HQ. I'm sure that you are not the only one having trouble installing EA Store worlds or the store patch and they may have a faster answer for you. http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/bd-p/the-sims-3
I cant post links until i'm a full member i have messaged both sellers just waiting for them to email me back when i search msi gaming laptops and the one with 970m is the third one on the first section of the page
Here is a way to post a broken link (we can figure out what do with it to unbreak it)
www(dot)somewebsite(dot)com/(the rest of it)(dot)html
The forum system would never try to make a link out of something like that, but we can.
Problem is, when I resolved some of the links you provided earlier from other sites, I kept landing on Page Not Found or No Such Product within those sites. I think some of these vendors recognize that we are accessing from a different country even if it's the .co.uk or whatever side of their operation and end up trying to display different things to us than you might be seeing. On Amazon, for example, I kept getting offers to ship the product I was looking at to the US. Can't really tell if the prices of the items I did look at, although in pounds but not dollars, were really the same for me so some two-way confirmation of things like that is often required.
Ok thanks was trying to do that but failed thanks for the tip
Okay, I finally got both of those earlier mentioned models to display properly, the 533 and the 550 pounds ones. They are both showing as used for me and from other vendors that use the Amazon marketplace, not from Amazon directly. One is being sold by an Auto Parts store (I think).

i think the seller(one of them)mentioned it's never been opened, only used for advertasing, sorry for spelling
That one is showing (to me) as 650 pounds and I have to question why an auto parts store has so much tech inventory in stock. Quite possibly on the level, but personally I wouldn't take the risk and nor be very confident that a repair warranty would be honored by the manufacturer.
Those are different generations of the same family of processors, the 6000 generation would be newer. I'm sure newer is better/faster, but as far as TS3 is concerned, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. At the very high ranges like that, it's not the processor that gets in the way of the game's performance.
Hoping someone here can help me. I recently reinstalled my sims 3 and expansions through origin. The game is running great, except for the fact that two of the expansions that origin claims are installed, just don't show up in my game (university and ambitions). In origin, if I look in my expansions, they say installed and I can click to play them. The content and gameplay from both of those packs are not there when I'm in the game. I'm not sure if there is a way to uninstall expansions and reinstall them, but I'd really like to be able to use them! Help!

It may not be an install issue. The new 1.69 Launcher includes a Pack and Stuff selection tab. You have to make sure that the EP/SPs you intend to have in play are selected (checked off) every time you start up the game, this new feature is notorious for not remembering your selections in between game sessions. If the EPs you expect to see are not even showing up there to select (checkbox), then try quitting the game and Origin and launching it again, several times if necessary.
I have version 1.67... there isnt a way to select EPs as far as I know :-/
I'm sorry, apparently I misunderstood. You said that you recently installed TS3 and its expansions through Origin. You would therefore be on Patch 1.69, there is no way to avoid it. Unless...ah, I now see from your posting history that you are on a Mac. That changes things. Issues with the Mac version of the Launcher and the game should really be posted to the Mac Discussions boards to avoid such confusion.
Hmm, I've played both extensively but we didn't have Origin for Mac back in the old(er) days, digital installs were handled a different way. You may need to uninstall and reinstall those EPs, but uninstalling and reinstalling Origin itself might be a better first step. Let's get some better informed input here.

This game does require a higher end gaming laptop or mid range gaming desktop to run. Especially if your running Pets, Seasons, ITF and IP
