Sigh is all I can say
I know this goes on a lot and it is upsetting people but really this goes a bit far
There is a player by the name of pitbullboxer31 that is targetting people and stealing their builds
He is now having a ball stealing my creations and writing on my wall.
He has even had maxis nominations in the noms thread for other peoples work he stole

Will maxis ever do something about players like this? They need to be banned from being able to put anything on the gallery as its obviously misuse of it.
I dont understand why something more isnt being done about these people, you will just lose the good players and the bad will stay.

I know some people dont care about the stealing but it really is disrespectful and though you may not think its stealing because your creations belong to maxis, when they post on those builds stating they built it is outright lying and wrong.

I would love some feedback from some guru's about this issue and also anyone else thats having stolen work issues post them
You can prove it was yours but the date you originially uploaded onto the gallery.

Sorry if this offends anyone but when someone is outright targetting good players and nice people I just have to speak up.

I would also suggest you all go check his gallery to see if he stole your work also.

Indeed, please stop faving works from pitbullboxer31. He started stealing from half the community. Spread the word, plz. He stole more then one room of mine too. Putting smilies and stupid remarks on my wall in Gallery. Sad to see really. Thank you so much for adressing this issue @Cbear13

I would hazard a guess that calling out a certain player goes against rules? But to speak in general terms, I often see my lots re-uploaded (as well as other creator's) and it is, of course, frustrating. I think they could probably put some simple measures in place - such as a message before uploading just saying that its best to upload your own work or some such. I think many people do it out of ignorance (let's not forget kids play the game too!) I think it would be hard to have a system of banning people for re-uploads, though I imagine they already do for harassment. It is a game and should be fun, for that reason I don't get too invested if someone is doing it maliciously. I prefer to think of the great creators who continue to share their work.

Wouldn't this fall under harassment?

edit: I just took a peek at his page, and uh, it is pretty blatantly obvious what he's doing, so I imagine it'd be enough for EA to actually do something.

This has happen before but not at this proportions it looks like he has stolen thousand of rooms and lots, I tweeted ea, ea support, origin and the sims, abut this matter I think this situation needs immediate and drastic actions

He is going out of his way to take that off and then write its his
He is also targetting players and harrassing them with this, he has made comments on peoples profiles that he had his own work stolen several times and if he cant beat them he will join them
He has also stated that he doesnt care who it hurts in the process and he is going to continue doing it
It is harrassment and in a situation like this he well deserves a ban from being allowed to upload

@cbear13 absolutely, if there's harassment involved then there's no argument. Since you mentioned stealing of lots I just figured I'd give my two cents on that issue. I think it is a very different one from outright harassment, which needs to be immediately resolved (had an incident myself recently!) I guess I'm saying they are two distinct problems. I wish Maxis would act more swiftly to the issue of harassment and hope your problem resolves itself and you can have fun

I still think even without the harrassment the uploading of other peoples creations and visibly claiming they are yours is wrong and should be punished. I know people spend hours, days, weeks on some of these creations to see someone take it as their own.
If nothing is done good people will get sick of it stop playing and stop uploading and all that will be left is these bad people doing it to more people
Get rid of bad (lower in numbers) or run the risk of losing a lot more good players

Well, hopefully EA are paying attention to the complaints about him/her and we'll see them disappear, considering how blatantly obvious it is.

Haha well, I hold hopes that this is a special case amongst all the other reports on similar stuff they receive.

Total waste of effort for sure.

Edit: @Cbear13 I don't know if it's just my searching but he seemed to have disappeared from the gallery. (Or is that because I reported him? lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just wanted to say that I fully support @Cbear13 #stopstealing
Hopefully karma can find him and others like him sooner than later.

@Cbear13 He has stolen all of my most recent builds, including a build I released just a few hours back dedicated to this issue. It was called Please Stop Stealing, and he stole it. This guy is just trying to upset everyone. I am hoping that Maxis will read this thread and all the posts on other threads talking about this, and decide they should intervene. I'm really at my wits end with this. It's not healthy to be as upset as I am, so I'm going to do my best to just ignore him when it comes to my stuff. Even so, I will call him out when I notice he is doing it to others.

Yeah I know he has been stealing them all day, he thinks its a game though how hes not bored of it already I have no idea
I am not giving him any more attention on his profile I have reported him everywhere I an and hopefully something will be done:( sorry @Coffee219 try not to get to upset over it as that's what he wants.

He has now stolen the majority of my builds, and he has renamed 'Garden View Estate' to 'Coffee219 is Stealing'. He is clearly not content with just stealing creations, he also wants to ruin the reputation of solid simmers. I'm tired of this. The worst thing is I that I'm starting to think saying something is only making it worse. He's just going to keep on doing this, and if Maxis does nothing, then my reputation, and the reputation of other builders probably as well, will be tarnished. I'm so upset I can't think right. Funny thing is I wouldn't have even noticed if he didn't comment on my profile saying I was stealing his work.

Report him for harrassment and message a guru
but dont waste energy getting upset over him its really not worth it

I am lucky that I am a nothing builder and don't have anything worth stealing, but I do feel for everyone that has had their builds stolen.

WOW! Yeah, this guy is out of control. I can't believe he hasn't been reported numerous times by now and it's just ignored. It looks like he has comments turned off as well- I would think EA could force him to have comments on so the original creators could post links to the work he has copied. A little shaming might go a long way.

Several simmers have tried to confront him... all he does is delete the messages a creator writes and starts harassing that simmer even more. I have reported his harassment via Origin, EA and ingame. Hope everyone he has stolen from does the same. It's EA's turn to do the shaming now in my opinion.

The report button is just painted on. So far as harassing/inappropriate comments are concerned its ridiculous. For one thing, when you report a comment, it deletes it for you, but everyone else can still see it. I guess it gives the illusion that something is being done? I have reported offensive comments on my or other people's stuff, and it takes a week or so to just get a form email back saying they "received" my complaint, by that time I don't remember what it was so who knows if they follow up with anything. Last week, someone wrote stuff directed at me that was so offensive I can't even elude to it, its all still there. So even if many people are reporting a player's comments I would question whether there's anyone actively looking into it. If people said this type of thing on the forum, for example, they would be gone. Its crazy to me that they would create a gallery feature and then not police it at all. Re-uploading work is annoying, but there is NO reason why players should be verbally harassed.
