Wow, those two new commercial lots look incredible! SimEve, you've really outdone yourself with the details of the landscaping, and I love the hot spring caverns! Josh, I love the detail of the tatami mats, they look exactly like they would in Japan! Great job to everyone, I'm leaving recs! I love Japanese stuff. :)

    Hello everybody!
I'm missing you. I just had to pop by and say hello, I'm currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina and I've been traveling for roughly a month, only 7,5 to go :D

The neighbourhood is almost finished, and it is a bit sad that we just didn't get it all wrapped up. I finished the Imperial Castle before I left but I just didn't have time to upload it :( I've asked Kitkat, who is making the world, to put together the neighbourhood anyway to make sure no lots are lost.

Take care all and happy holidays.

thanks for passing by and sharing your work. Check the list of lots to see if you find a place for it, the lots have all been specified so it would need to fit the description.

    Hi, Tota.
We should definitely finish this. I still have my fisherman and son build. It is done but I never did pictures or a covershot. I may just upload it as-is. It's too much of a hassle to change the photo...

Perhaps contact Kitkat about making a week for this in Build-n-Share. Maybe people could sign up for a build that is yet to be completed.

Hope you have enjoyed your travels!

    addict,
I will def. talk to Kitkat when I get back, one month left :)

I have also one lot finished that I only need to get the screenshots ready and upload when we get back home. But we need more people to sign up for the remaining lots, or I will end up doing them all, which would be boring :(

Oh well, hope that people will join the project.

I'm putting finishing touches on the school, so that should be ready soon. I've been trying to come up with a name for it.... I was thinking of naming it after an affluent family or business in the neighborhood to imply that they had a hand in funding it, but I wasn't sure what would be appropriate.

On another note, I've been eyeing that Shopping Square, lot 53. I'm wondering how set you are on having that be a 'modern shopping square' because the inspiration pictures you linked to are a bit intimidating to translate into Sims 3...
I was invisioning something more traditional and 'small town' along the lines of:
    http://worldneighborhoods.com/pictures/download.php?id=262&t=1
    http://bulk.destructoid.com/ul/94074-destructoid-feature-more-on-persona-4-from-atlus/p4_4-468x.jpg

If that's not what you're going for though (or if someone else wants that lot), it's not a big deal. I'd be just as happy working on a different lot.

    Beljora,
I think it is a great idea, of naming the school after an important family. I think you should pick any of the yakuza families, maybe, that would be cool. They always have a finger in everything :)

I'm sorry if the pictures for lot 53 are a bit intimidating, it is not what I hoped for. I think the main idea is that it should look modern, and Japanese people love shopping so the idea is that it should reflect that. But I think you should go with your own feeling, although remember that it is one of the main squares in town :)

Okay, the school is technically finished. As usual, I'm having a hell of a time getting The Exchange to work, so I've uploaded it to mediafire.

I want to point out that I did have to use CC as there are no school-related items in the vanilla and expansions, such as desks and blackboards. I can cut the CC back or even get rid of it if it's a problem.

CC I included that I consider essential:
    School desks
    School chairs
    Blackboard

CC I included that isn't essential (though I feel adds to the school atmosphere):
Clocks on the outside of the building
    Files (notebooks standing on end)
    Inbox/Outbox
    Printer (For the computer lab)
3 signs for the wall (Chart, reminder to clean up, nameplate for the school/classrooms)

Tell me how you feel about the CC, and I'll try to work it out.

    ______________________________________________________________

With that out of the way, I present Shinoda Gakuen (Shinoda Academy... or possibly Bamboo Field Academy):

    Screenshots (photobucket slideshow):
    http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a20/Beljora/Shinoda%20Gakuen/?albumview=slideshow

    Download (Mediafire):
    http://www.mediafire.com/?zudaj4x2uemg24d

Criticism welcome. I'm willing to make changes to improve the school.

If you want the solar panels on the roof like shown in the screenshots, download and install the Prius Celebration Pack before placing the school in the town. Found here: http://store.thesims3.com/prius (It's free and also has some other cool stuff like wind turbines and, of course, the Prius).

If you don't want the solar panels, just don't download the Prius Pack and they wont be there when you place the school (I've tested it and there's no error/problems from doing it that way).

    Beljora,
I think the house looks great, very well executed. The science and computer labs are awesome :) Since I'm not back home yet and I can't download and play test it, I just want to make sure, did you include the School rabbit hole? :)

Fantastic work, can't wait to see your next build.

Yes, the rabbit hole school is tucked underground... I originally had the basement stairs in the 'main' building, but in the morning when the kids flooded the place it was a bit of a traffic hazard. I moved it to the annex and haven't had a problem with that yet.

Though, when taking those screenshots I discovered a random tree stuck in the basement (off to side).... I'll fix that.
Edit: Nevermind, that was only a glitch when I placed it. When I bulldozed and placed it again it wasn't there.

Where can I download what's been completed please as I just found out about this and keep getting a no longer exists message at builders boulevard?

    EDIT
A single download containing the currently completed world/lots/families/custom content all set up so I only need to download it would be nice :D . Seriously though I can't follow any links to download as they take me to builders boulivard and cause the message mentioned above to appear. Which is a shame because I really want an eastern, Japanese for preference, world but can't find one.

Don't tell me this project is dead... I was half finished with the Sumo Stables before summer break ended. I wanted to start working on it again after finals...

I was hoping to contribute, but I need to be sure this project is still active... I checked the initial thread regularly with no response. I randomly checked it today to find out someone responded 2 months later... If someone could let me know I'll be happy to throw some fire on this to get it completed.

I'd love to see the finished neighbourhood but if you didn't get a reply for 2 months it doesn't bode well given the changes the game's had with the latest patch/expansion. Still I'll check back in January.

I downloaded as many lots as I could find back in August, but there were quite a few I couldn't find, so it's definitely incomplete. Also, I didn't download any of the actual families, just the lots. If there's some attempt to revive this, I can contribute what little I've salvaged, however. Some of them are so amazing that it'd be a tragedy if they fell into digital oblivion.
