Hotels, Cars, Casino’s and a New World would make a great EP!
And to put my 2 cents in, I hate rabbit holes. Give me more lots with functions. I would love to see multiple function lots. Like a mall lot, with retail, Dining and maybe another lot function or two.
I don't want a hotel GP. I want a hotel EP. Imagine this - 3 mini-worlds, a beachside world, a mountain get away, and a modern hotel on the Simgas Strip. Bringing in 3unique hotel building themes, something tropical and seaside oriented, a smaller low-frill type of hotel and a casino, respectively.
Each world would have 4 lots. One for the main hotel, another for a unique type of activity, another for something like a community lounge/nightclub and one empty lot. The whole mountain/forest, the Simgas Strip and much of the Beachside "town" would all just be backdrops.
The only thing is that the mountain getaway is much like Outdoor Retreat, so I'm not really sure that's the best way to go with the general idea I had, which was a more inexpensive and laid back low-scale type of hotel. Not dumpy but not really all that nice either.
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

Actually having a mountain getaway world similar to OR with some sort of swimmable water would be an alternative to the OR refresh we will probably never get. I like the idea of 3 mini locations as long as hotels are not lot locked.

The mountain retreat could be a hotel located on the shores of a swimmable lake, with added activities on the lake like ice fishing and skating during winter and pedal boats during summer, and hikes all year round. An inexpensive family get away, not like those mountain cabin hotels that offer rooms with bunk beds and communal showers, but nothing very fancy or very modern either.
I won't cry if cars aren't here for that reason, but it would still be cool. The Sims 2 had closed world and cars worked just fine. Getting into the car and disappearing into the loading screen would be just fine and mechanics skill, possibility to fix, build, or wash your car, building relations wit it would make up for closed world
Hotels would be great but cars, fairies, horses, and music themed pack are still waiting and are required by everyone, you know..... Actually, hotels are last on my priority list

Everyone is different, hotels are my top priority and fairies and cars aren't a requirement for me at all.
Also I totally agree on nectar making, I really wish they would bring this feature back.
Everyone has some great ideas in here. Some of those don't appeal to me as they wouldn't add much to how I play. But I totally understand why we have differing wants when none of us play the game the same way. Because I prefer playing families, I am always looking at the new packs for what they will add to the game that is family oriented yet can be used by everyone in the family and by every life stage. And that idea takes me back to Sims3 and the addition of Lucky Palms which gave us casinos. I played the heck out of that pack. The world was stunning, had houseboats on the lake, very diverse neighborhoods, and a place where the celebs could show off their dancing, music and comic skills. And, of course, slot machines and gaming tables. But since we're speculating on what we want to see next in Sims4, the one EP I would love to see is one centered around a large vacation world with a casino, theme parks with rides our Sims can actually ride on and be seen, hotels that range from the cheap to the most expensive, and other activities all Sims would like to take part in.
Leading up to the EP the teams could introduce having bands again in a game pack, the pre-EP update could include water slides of all sizes, the pool table and maybe something new such as a mini-golf venue. Then the EP itself would have the new world with hotels/resorts, theme parks like a water park, one with various carnival rides, several restaurants and cafes, and of course, the casino itself. And as much as I realize this might upset other players, this new world would not include any residential lots. Just a couple of empty lots we could build our venues on. Save the backstories for the many service Sims our Sims will interact with while visiting. Use fewer fake buildings and give us a few new rabbit hole venues such as Broadway shows, attending the filming of a late-night comedy show, band concerts, or a game show where our Sims might win a prize for attending. The casino would also have a stage area where our bands, comics, and other entertainers could perform and hone their skills. And because we have had so many worlds that are thought of as being American, perhaps this world should be less American and be more generic. There are many other great cities and countries in the world to emulate this time around. Paris, Dubai, Morocco, even Shanghai. This new world wouldn't have to be a Sims version of Las Vegas. In fact, it might appeal to more players if it wasn't.
The only thing is that the mountain getaway is much like Outdoor Retreat, so I'm not really sure that's the best way to go with the general idea I had, which was a more inexpensive and laid back low-scale type of hotel. Not dumpy but not really all that nice either.

Hmmm, that's a fair point. I wouldn't mind having another mountain getaway if it is sufficiently different from Granite Falls. Swimmable water would be a big step, but I would also want to see it look fairly different, with different geographic and cultural features. Granite Falls looks like a very typical American (and probably Canadian) state or national park. But if they did something like the Swiss Alps, or the Scottish Highlands, or... I don't know, Germany, maybe? That could work. The low-scale hotel could be something like more like a hostel, even.
Hotels would be amazing, but we also don't have bands, fairies, cars yet which I would love to have as well! There can even be active waterparks and amusement parks with a hotel pack.

I don’t want a rabbit hole motels, I want ones we can make ourselves.
