I will wait, perhaps for a sale
First time for me saying this, but I'm going to wait it out on this EP. I have had a great run with Sims-starting with Sims 1. But it's starting to get somewhat ridicules. Worlds are smaller, fewer lots. Content isn't all that great. I'm sure many will find this EP pleasurable and enjoy themselves.

I will buy it early enough for the bonus items.
I still plan on getting this pack sooner rather than later, but seeing how badly this patch affected mods is making me grateful I decided to cave and buy Horse Ranch on the last day of the recent big sale. Along with getting MFPS for free, I have plenty to keep me occupied for at least a while.

I'm still so anxious for real apartments though! I can't wait to fill the sleazy run-down motel in the back corner of Newcrest with sims I don't like. :naughty:

I'm going to wait until they have done some serious bug fixing and it goes on sale. I definitley would like it, but I'm not desperate. I still have plenty of other features I haven't explored in my game yet. :)

Thank you @Bluegayle. I'm so glad to be back. Unfortunately I've learned that there's a censorship, so I have to be very careful what I say.

Right now, I'm waiting to see how well the patch today worked, and then if it sounds promising, then I will probably buy tomorrow to have for this weekend.

Inclined towards no. Neither the video reviews nor mentioned woes in the forums put it in a favorable light. Pretty, but a buggy mess. But not as much as MWS.

I was happy to see the bug fixes the other day.

I am going to wait on this pack until they fix:
    - the bug where tenants can't pay rent/bills
    - the bug where landlords can't collect rent
    - the bug where lots break if you turn them from residential rental into something else.

Considering it's basically an EP about building and renting apartments, I need the basic features of the pack to work before I buy it.

I’m really glad the last few packs have not left children out, that they have added some new activities for them. I hope that they will add some new activities for toddlers too. Having something ( a toy ) that works on the same skill as the stacking blocks would be nice. A rocking horse, a little ride in car, a little wagon to pull, and I’d love to see them have a little doll they could carry around, feed and put to bed. Stuffed animals to play with. And, we didn’t even get a trike for them in growing together. Teens and elders could use a bit more things too. Skate boards for children and teens would be nice. I’d love to see children be able to toss a baseball back and forth with their parent, or friends.and a baseball and mitt clutter to put on a shelf. I’d like to see family volleyball make a return. Bingo for elders, a cane, etc. I thought the hearing aids were a nice touch, and the community center in Growing together was a nice start at multiple type lots. I’d love to see a sewing machine in the sims 4 with various patterns for all age levels. I would love to see a game pack for sewing that added a color wheel for fabrics and things we could use. Besides clothing for all ages they could add rag dolls and stuffed animals, making quilts to throw on a bed. They could add pillows to sit on and patterns for curtains. They could do so much with a sewing game pack. I’d also like to see a few other hobby packs like pottery and basket weaving. I heard that jewelry making may be coming our way, I like that idea. A few other things I’d like to see are a pool slide, a pool table, some new arcade games, hotels and casino stuff. Cars and a mechanic career, a gas station with a car wash would be a cool new lot too. They could add stuff packs and kits with new types of cars. I also want to see a lot trait for clothing like we had for food ( simple living ).

    I will not buy it.
Nope. I'm a gameplay focused person and the gameplay features hardly add anything that would interest me, especially after learning it's the same ol' loading screens galore (also, bugs and glitches but that's like the norm). The pack seems more geared towards builders (once again) and I have little interest in building. Sure, the CAS looks pretty neat and new traits are always welcome but... meh. Even features like "secrets" which sound interesting on paper, turned out to be artificial hogwash since they are generated randomly and thus don't feel meaningful. The world looks pretty but it's the same ol' set dressing for the most part (and is also small compared to some other expansions).
Taking all of that into consideration, what's left... I'd need to be really invested in being a landlord to justify buying this pack and, sorry, I'm not. So skipping this one for sure. It wouldn't even interest me if it was on sale cuz I don't feel it adds anything substantial. Like, I have my issues with HSY but ended up getting it during a sale because I feel like it does enhance teen lifestage which has been really lacking identity for me. This pack? I don't feel like it "mends any lacking elements in my gameplay" so to speak.

I have already bought the For Rent EP and I love it and have been playing it but I have found a lot of bugs in it and now am very frustrated. I have seen that many others also have found bugs in the the new pack. I sure hope that some fixes come out soon! I have some lots now that I can do little with now. I have a Sim that owns two residential rental properties but the properties management box shows that he doesn't have any. That is the worst of them. I have many problems but I am not sure that this is the place to list them. I am still new to this forum and am learning. Still, over all, I love the new EP! It will be even better when they work out the bugs. wink:

There are some items I like, but the cas is quite lame and I haven't really checked what kind of gameplay the pack contains. I'm a little bit interested in the pack, but I'm definitely waiting for a sale if I decide to get it.

@calmhere ... You have to go to EA Answers HQ to report bugs you may experience. Bugs must be reported individually. https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/ct-p/the-sims-4-en
You can also use the search box to see if someone reported your bug and add a comment to an existing bug already reported.

EA Bug report link for "Tenants wont pay rent" in case someone has this issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-FR-Tenants-wont-pay-rent/m-p/13289161#M262684

I had the problem where the property management box would not display although I owed an apartment building. Just go into build buy and then close it and the Property Management box will reappear. I have been testing things to see if this issue would resolve itself along with some other issues.
    1. I moved my Save file and CAS mod CC to my desktop.
    2. I uninstalled the game.
    3. Deleted the EA folder
    4. Re-installed the game to play everything new with no CAS cc folder.
    5. The issue with the Property Management box was fine along with some other issues I was having.

Hope that helps and welcome to the forum :) .

I had the opportunity to buy For Rent over the holidays, but decided to go for the bundle instead. I ended getting Horse Ranch with Dream Home Decorator and Paranormal.

    It's complicated.
    I still haven't bought it. :|
I'd like to have the items that will come with the EP when purchasing it before January 18th and I don't have a lot of time. I'm just not interested of the landlord stuff or the gameplay in this pack in general. I just want the CAS & BB items and the new traits and world.
I haven't played Sims in 3 months because I've been sick and I really want to do it already. I miss my Sims and I will probably have to get the EP soon to have something new to explore when I start playing again. :)

This is the first pack I was planning to buy around launch but changed my mind. There is little too little gameplay outside of the landlord / tenant, the world is game pack size with 9 lots across 2 neighbourhoods. The bug that breaks saves is scary.
I think the pack is fun and having multiple families on one lot is a game changer (if it doesn't break your game) but it's not worth 40€ in my opinion.

I've made a rule for myself that I won't buy new packs unless I'm actively playing the game, have use for the content, or it goes on sale.

My problem is EA went back on their promise they made long ago about no bonus content for S4 packs. I'm someone who hates missing out on things even if it's very small and adds nothing valuable. I haven't bought For Rent because of the save file corruption bug. However, with the bonus content deadline approaching, I'm sooo conflicted.

@SimplyJen, I think patchday is tomorrow, the bonus content until the 18th so there is a couple days clearance to watch bug reports after the patch. I want to play now though! LoL 😂🦹🦇

I bought it, but not being able to change residential rental back to a residential lot or other type lot is game breaking for me. This is one pack I wish I had waited to buy. I have to play a practice save. One reason I don’t use CC or mods is because I don’t want to have to wait to play the game, but I have had the for rent pack for nearly a month now and I can’t play my actual main save because I don’t want it corrupted.

I certainly hope they fix not being able to change lot types after changing a lot to residential rental, and they fix the extremely high price of apartments. I have been playing as a tenant with a practice save, and that is going well, but I’d really like to begin playing with my permanent save sgain. Fingers crossed that they fix the big problems with this patch.

I was going to hold off on it but it was gifted to me by someone. I wanted to hold off for the fixes, but it's so bad I can't even have more than 13 units without ti corrupting my save. I have this whole new system but I am afraid to use it. I really hope they fix this.

I brought it as well but luckily I did not play it as I saw the reports coming in on the problems was developing whether you used the cheats are not and this pack was released during the holidays which for me was a mistake being everybody was working on a holiday schedule.

Yeah, I’m sorry I bought this one so soon. I’m getting tired of playing a practice save, but am afraid to play my main save till they fix changing the lots. I hope they fix it soon. I’m about ready to go back to my Minecraft game.

I think there's a very good chance now that I'll never buy it. I feel that some of the bugs might not even be fixable. I'll be viewing future packs with extreme skepticism as well. After the last few EP and GP releases each being more buggy than the last, culminating in this For Rent fiasco, I have no trust in EA's process. Nor do I like they way they're handling players' criticism about it in general. Bad mojo.
