Maybe they should give it away for free -- after all, all those programmers and designers can just motherlode their rent money and grocery money out of thin air, right?
A touch defensive?
There is nothing wrong at all with waiting for the price to go down, which it eventually will, or speculating when that may happen.
I didn't see anyone here suggesting we just pirate it (as amusing as the pirated screen shots were) or wait for it to be free (but it was rather nice to release Sims 2 like that). I do imagine though, if it were free, I'd pick up a copy and do so guilt-free as I would assume they would only ever contemplate such an action when the game is no longer making any money and is no longer going to be supported.
Anyhow, I would hazard a guess it will depend on how well it does after the next expansions which could be in a few months it may be available for $40+-ish or it may hold for quite some time and end up on some anniversary sale for cheaper. I imagine that sales might pick up a little after the first expansion, depending on how good it is, but they will probably drop sometimes after that and if other games are anything to go by, might be able to get it cheaper with an expansion, but you will likely be waiting a year.
I've heard of Black Friday. Isn't it when Americans get together to kill each other over cheaply priced consumer goods?
Pretty much. I saw several people fight over 50 cent towels the one time I went to Wal-Mart for one of those things. Will never in my life do that again.

It's a Gif madhouse now
If you were going on a shopping spree, why go for the cheap designers instead of the good ones? They have much better designs.
