I am sure there are a few fashion minded simmers on this topic, but I am not one of them. I am currently working on a random sim design (to clarify I don't know if she will make it into Run or my new story, the design is just random whim that I felt like doing)
The issue is that she has red and orange hair which I am finding very difficult to color clothes to match. Does anyone have any suggestions (not pink). Black looks good but I don't want her coming off looking goth.
I would suggest a creamy white, light orange, blue or teal, sky blue would look nice as well. Even a light yellow would be good or brown and or tan colors. I would just experiment with all the suggestions given by everybody and see which colors would work best. Red and orange colored hairs look best in autumn colors in real life. You could even try a darker red like a brick red type.
LunBeauty: I suppose so. I'm not sure really, but yeah, he's getting a fair amount of attention from the ladies. I'll have to cheat and age her down though due to the age up issue at Uni, but hopefully I'll be able to get Gen 6 sorted!
For me personally the baby stage is the worst because they can't do anything at all. At least in this game you can click on them to see their needs, but it's still dull. Toddler is second worst, due to the mentioned crying for no reason thing. Elder is third. They can do whatever they need to, but take ages to walk there.
I was talking about the Disney Chip N Dale, but yeah that did cross my mind. Little Chipmunk working hard for the money. *So hard for it honey!*....sorry!

The next day, and George gets ready for his first class.
He isn't exactly in a good mood, but he does meet his class mates.
Why look! It's Esther Atkins! The girls who was supposed to be Gen 4's wife! The she vanished from the relationship panel, and I have no idea why.
So this randomly happened just as George left his class room. At this point he still got no attraction sign popping up, and I realised he might have just been experimenting as a teen.
Chatting with the woman who SHOULD have been his mum.
Bad fashion alert! Eww!
Studying for another busy day.
Day three, and the snowmen STILL haven't melted. I may need to delete them.
It's practical day, so I have to put up with a tonne of gibbering sims and radio signals. Annoying!
George heads to the Rebel hangout to grab a bite.
More studying.
Another girl who's name I can't remember. I'll call her Miss Overalls till I remember it. Again, he becomes fast friends with her. I forgot to mention, he's now at Charisma level 4 I think.
George does some more studying to boost his degree level.
Then he goes to the Jock hangout and becomes a level 1 Jock while bowling.
Then, he heads home to rest after a hard day.
Another class.
"Hello everyone! This is George Muller, reporting on the strange cases of people being punched by gnomes. Many Students have contacted the police about being attacked by angry gnomes. Further investigation revealed it was actually an angry Rival Mascot from Gnome University doing the deed. He has since apologised, but claimed that The Llama Mascot started it."
This Werewolf is not only attracted to George, but is also able to multitask.
So, George bumped into a friend of his outside after class and started hanging out with her, when some dumb Pap threw a vial onto the bonfire, making his hygeine drop badly. IT'S NOT LIKE HE HAS A PARTY TO GO TO! Friggin' paps!
He was invited to Leonard Sheldon's party, but Leonard appeared very late to it.
George and Lenny soon become friends and George is closer to getting charisma level 5.
There was a huge jam when everyone tried to get to class, so by the time the professor finally arrived, the class was over. Annoying.
Miss Overalls and George had a very quick study time, before Overalls ran off for class, I guess.
George chats with another girl, again making a friend.
Exam time the next day! George passes with flying colors!
He then meets a purple haired girl. She's taken, sadly. Booo!
He invites over Miss Overalls and discovers she too is taken. So after much flirting, I decide to be a bit evil.
George convinces her to split up with her parter called Jim, I think.
In no time at all, they are boyfriend and girlfriend!
George does some more studying, then decides it's time for a party.
@celiria Here are some sample pics of different colors for your sim. Now it is true I don't know the color of your sims hair in regards to red and orange tint and the balance between the two colors, but I made a woman with more of a eye popping red and orange combo so you can see how the colors work with a brighter color. So if you think these colors look good with my hair combination they should work even better with yours as I am sure your hair color isn't as bright lol.

Thanksgiving was the usual for me. Everyone in the family met up at my grandparents' house, and after nibbling on h'orderves, we all tucked in to a dinner of roast beef and baked potatoes. Cake and pie along with tea and coffee were served as desert afterwards. Then we sat in the living room and chatted for a few hours before heading home.
Say, everyone, what did you do for thanksgiving? What constitutes as a regular thanksgiving dinner for your family?
@colorist: thanks that actually helped a lot. I ended up going with something close to the third on your list, though I may still end up going with something else color wise in the future. But I will definitely keep those colors in mind.
@bleedingbanshe: thanksgiving for me has mostly been Sims. Other than the character design I've mentioned I have been altering a house for the first chapter of the new story I have been planning (random side note I hate building :P ). I finally have the plan and characters done now I just need to get the house in order.
Food wise thanksgiving dinner for my house is always honey baked ham. Side dishes don't matter much since most of them are things Mom likes but I don't.
Happy Thanksgiving, or as the un-official Thanksgiving song put it, gobble gobble 1, gobble gobble 2, gobble gobble me, and gobble gobble you. I'm not kidding either, someone actually came on a radio station to sing that.

@Celiria: Yep, not as big of a nuisance, but always. If he had wanted it, it would have been a great irony for him to become a cop. :P I guess they both got a bit lost in the party mood. At least they couldn't slow dance. Now that would be really creepy. True, peppermint is good. But the joke was on Ning Shui. Before I quit, I saw he had herb nausea. Yeah, I think she will be. Well it is just me and my hubby at home having a roasted chicken, green bean casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, and I bought a few sweet potatoes as well. Going to butter those up and sprinkle those with brown sugar. Pumpkin pie for dessert. Was watching my team the Green Bay Packers get slaughtered lol, and playing sims. Also sometime today going to remember to thank the Lord for all my blessings. :-)
(To those who celebrate it - I don't really celebrate it myself as I am new to this American stuff even though I have lived here over a decade but I do make a feast for my family for the benefit of my American hubby and son).
I hope everyone is having a good day so far. I baked a pumpkin pie last night and have spent the morning in the kitchen getting the meal together. Looking forward to eating the fruits of my labor and washing it down with a couple of bottles of wine :P

thesealofthesims I've had my fun with the test,but I've noticed no stories popping up about the other households in Lee's story at all except when she was online chatting with somebody and a message about the guy she was chatting with popped up.I've got her in a game where I left the townies in.I found a similar situation in Winfield during the whole time I've played there and it was more obvious in the test game where the second household didn't make any changes while I played with my main household.I ended up checking my options menu and EA's SP was clearly turned off.
I thought it was weird to not have stories pop up until I found out about the Sp being turned off.It looks like the glitch I had was mostly in a glitched game and I've switched from that game.
Thanksgiving was in October for us Canadians -- that's why I asked about everyone else's holiday XD

Yep, that's what I had in mind when I named him. It helps that his voice is really deep. If only spinach puffs were a food option in the Sims 3 ... they sound delicious!

I don't know about a tutu, but I have stumbled across a few mods that allowed the men in the Sims 3 to cross-dress in a few hairs, skirts, tops, and dresses. Other than that ... there's not a whole lot out there for male sims that I like, admittedly. Here's my Portland game update.
Lee ended up playing chess on her computer for part of the morning to learn logic skill after getting up early that morning.
She started learning about repairing things for herself by reading the book about it after she'd played chess for a while.Lee stopped at lunchtime to get ready for the carpool to take her to work in the afternoon.
Lee came home in the evening to find she'd earned a raise and was tired enough to go to bed early.

I have a short update. Not much happened here, basically Clover and Cherry aged up into young adults and Acanthus became a child. The girls also took their university aptitude tests and headed for University.
Cherry was invited over to this guy's house after school. I don't know his name, so we'll just call him Bobby Hill for now.
Just before bed, Cherry tries to talk to Clover, but Clover doesn't want to hear any of it. She doesn't want Cherry's friendship at all.
Clover: Just because everyone else is so crazy about you, doesn't mean I have to be. Just don't even talk to me!
Cherry: W-What did I do?
Even I don't know why your sister hates you so much, Cherry. Clover is living proof that you can't judge a sim by their traits. She has some really good traits, but she's a total ******.
The next day, Clover, feeling rebellious, decides to skip school and spends time doing one of the more positive things that she likes to do, which is take different birds home as pets. Here she is befriending the Yellow Naped Amazon I believe it is called.
This, right here, is the very rare Lilac Breasted Roller. I had to get one of these for the family. Look at all of the colors!
The girls aged up that evening. Cherry, here, got the Great Kisser trait. She really blossomed, didn't she? This is my first time using that hair and, I have to say, it looks amazing on her. She is up for download if anyone is interested.
Clover also aged up nicely. Surprisingly, she got the Virtuoso trait. She's also up for download. Once again, this is my first time using this particular hair. It really seems to suit her. Also, I never noticed it before, but she has some very small bosoms. It was hard putting together outfits that looked good on her.
This is Acanthus. He takes after his mother in that he got the Good trait. He definitely looks like her, but now that I look a little more closely, he has his father's lip shape.
The girls graduate the next day. For some reason, they refused to go to City Hall. Don't you hate it when your sims don't listen to you? So here's Cherry graduating in the dining room. She graduated with the Highest Honors and got the Most Popular award. I bet Clover hates her even more now.
Clover ended up graduating with Honors (no high in there) and an award for Most Likely To Become A Rockstar. I can totally see this happening, can't you?
The girls wasted no time in taking their University Aptitude Tests. I didn't even bother to change them back into their everyday attire. Neither of them got any extra credit points, unfortunately. Still, I'm too eager for them to head towards University that I figure they can skill while there.
Nothing beats going to college in your cap and gown. Camellia came outside to wish them a farewell. I think she's secretly happy. She won't have to hear constant arguing for a good while.
Felicia also waves good-bye. Too bad she's facing the wrong way and the girls are already gone.
I hope you have fun with the senile ones, Camellia. It looks like they forgot to take their pills this morning.

squee1983 I actually had to put the bike rack in the apartment for Lee to even be able to own a bike.There's really no other way to store bikes in apartments.
LunBeauty Great update! The apartment is really only a temporary home for Lee while she replenished her savings before moving on from the city.

Okay time for the first chapter of the new story I have been working on. The start will be split into two chapters since it ended up a lot longer than I initially planned, The second will hopefully go up later today. So here it is. It's called:
Souls of the Suns
Chapter 1- A New Future
The buildings flew by as the car entered the Bridgeport city limits. Nyxie stared in amazement at the skyscrapers towering up into the sky. She'd lived in the small town of Violet Falls her whole life until now so buildings like these were something she'd only ever heard about from other people, to see them in person was phenomenal.
Her father glanced at her with the rear view mirror a weak smile spread across his face.
Mr. Drake: Enjoying the view honey?
Nyx grinned over at him.
Nyx: Yes Dad, the buildings are amazing. Violet Falls never had anything like this.
Mr. Drake forced a laugh, not wanting his daughter to see how uncomfortable he was. He wasn't fooling his wife at all though.
Mrs. Drake: Relax Del, their just buildings.
Mr. Drake: I know, it's just... it's so cold, so lifeless. I miss the trees, the streams, the flowers. I miss home.
Mrs. Drake looked at him sadly
Mrs. Drake: I understand dear, but we can't go back now. Besides just think of your new job. Think of the life we'll be able to provided for Nyxie.
Nyx: Mom, its Nyx, you know I hate being called Nyxie.
Mrs. Drake laughed
Mrs. Drake: I know honey, but your father and I named you that so you'll have to put up with it from time to time. Now go back to looking, we're about to cross the bridge so you'll have a great view of the ocean.
Nyx excitedly turned back to the window. The ocean was another thing she'd been looking forward to seeing. Another thing she'd never had a chance to see back in Violet Falls. Her father smiled, the banter between his wife and daughter had done a lot to brighten his mood, his wife noticing the more genuine smile ran her hand down his cheek in response.
Mrs. Drake: See Del, things aren't so bad.
This was the Drake family. Delvin Drake his wife Esmerelda and their teenage daughter Nyxie or Nyx as she preferred to be called.
Delvin had decided to move his family to Bridgeport after he was offered the position of chief of police in the Bridgeport police department. He had taken down the head of a a large criminal organization that had been smuggling through Violet Falls. That had gotten the attention of the Bridgeport PD and here they were.
Delvin hadn't wanted to leave Violet Falls, he liked it there, he liked the trees and nature and being able to fish out of the range of civilization. But the money was to good to pass up. As hard as he had worked in Violet Falls it was still a small town department and the pay reflected that. As much as he missed the forests and streams his family meant more, and he wanted to give them the life they deserved.
When Esmerelda had heard about the job offer she had stood by her husbands decision. A stay at home mother Esmerelda had seen her husband first hand as he struggled to provide the life he felt necessary for her and Nyxie. She loved nature as he did but she knew the reasons for his decision and hoped the extra income would help them lead a life in which they could afford to let Nyxie enjoy the remainder of her teenage years to their fullest. So she had gone along with the movie willingly. She wasn't anymore of a fan of the concrete and noise of big cities than her husband was but her daughters happiness came before her own.
Nyxie had been happy at the idea of the move. She loved to see new things, in a small town like Violet Falls though that was limited mostly to books and what other people said. This move however was a chance to see something new. A new place, new things, new people, and new ideas. She couldn't be more excited, and her happiness was infectious, its very existance prompting smiles on her parents faces. Even if they were far from their comfort zones Nyxie was happy and that meant the world to them.
As they reached their new home Nyxie stared in awe. It was a large house towering above her head. Their house before had been small, a simple one story home that could be afforded on her fathers salary. But with the new position had come some perks, including housing expenses.
Delvin and Esmerelda felt more comfortable once they reached the house as well. They may be living in Bridgeport now but Delvin had managed to find a place on the outskirts so that they still could feel some of nature around them, even if they couldn't escape the buildings looming nearby.
Myxie was the first through the front door excited to see their new home but as her parents followed her in they found her disappointedly standing in the living room, the house was still empty.
Delvin: Well thats annoying, it looks like the truck hasn't gotten here yet.
Nyx looked dejected
Nyx: Awww, I was hoping our stuff would be here so I could see the what the new house would look like.
Delvin: Don't worry honey, the stuff should be hear soon, for now why don't you two look around while I call Bonnie and see if she knows anything.
Esmerelda nodded and she and Nyx headed off to explore the house.
As they entered the kitchen Nyx turned to look at her mom.
Nyx: Mom, who's Bonnie?
Esmerelda: Bonnie is an old family friend, she knew your father and I when we were young. We fell out of touch when we moved to Violet Falls though but your father ran into her here when he came down regarding his new job. It turned out she works at the police department here so she has been showing him around the city and helped him with finding this house.
Nyx: Will I get to meet her?
Esmerelda: Most likely, no doubt she will stop by at some point to visit.
Nyx: What's she like?
Esmerelda laughed
Esmerelda: Do you ever get tired of asking questions?
Nyx smirked
Nyx: No
Esmerelda laughed again but seemed to mellow a bit as she answered the question.
Esmerelda: I honestly can't say what she's like. People change as time goes by. I haven't seen her in years. If she's anything like she used to be though you two will get along well.
The two continued their tour out into the backyard.
The down look on Esmerelda's face quickly changed to a smile.
Esmerelda: This is wonderful, there's a garden area all ready for me to start planting. I was a bit worried that living in the city would mean there wouldn't be any room for me to garden.
Nyx: Mom? Do you really think Dad would get a house without a garden? That was probably one of his top priorities.
Esmerelda: I know, but I was still worried.
A look of concern crossed over Nyx's face.
Nyx: You really don't like it here do you Mom?
Esmerelda: It's not that I don't like it, I'm just a little uncomfortable around all the buildings. I like to see things grow, and bloom. It's hard for that to happen though through concrete.
Nyx: So why did you agree to come here? You know Dad, he would have turned down the offer if you weren't going to be happy.
Esmerelda: But you were happy, you wanted to see the city, and his job offers a better life for us. I couldn't say no to that. Besides, even if I didn't have my garden I can still watch one thing grow and bloom.
Nyx: What's that?
Esmerelda: You. Always remember, as much as I like my plants and trees and everything else your still the most important thing to me. Your my favorite flower, and watching you grow and bloom is the greatest joy of my life.
Nyx blushed at the compliment
Nyx: Mom thats embarrassing, you sound like someone out of one of my books.
Esmerelda: Maybe, but it's still true. Now lets go in and see how your fathers doing.
Back inside Delvin had just hung up the phone. He looked up from putting it back in his pocket to see his wife and daughter enter the room.
Delvin: Well it seems the truck got delayed on the way here, a road collapse or something like that. Either way it won't be here until tomorrow.
Esmerelda: Thats to bad, I was looking forward after that long drive to making a nice home cooked meal.
Delvin: I know dear but it can't really be helped. Look I have to swing by the station to finish signing some documents before I start tomorrow, it shouldn't take long though so afterwards how about we go to the park and then go to a restaurant in celebration of our new home?
Esmerelda and Nyxie smiled in unison.
Nyxie: That sounds great Dad.
Esmerelda: Yes Del that sounds like a great idea. While your doing that I will actually head to the store, I need to pick up some seeds for my garden. Is that okay with you Nyx, are you okay with being home alone?
Nyx: I'm fine Mom, I want to explore the house some more anyway.
Delvin: Okay honey, just so you know your room is on the second floor at the front side of the house.
Nyx: Okay Dad, have fun.
Then she turned and hugged her mom.
Nyx: And you have fun too Mom, and thanks for what you said earlier.
Esmerelda hugged her daughter back.
Esmerelda: Any time honey, I love you.
Nyx: I love you to Mom.
And thats it for the first chapter, as said the second should be up later today (worst case tomorrow depending on how quickly the writing process goes).

I would suggest a creamy white, light orange, blue or teal, sky blue would look nice as well. Even a light yellow would be good or brown and or tan colors. I would just experiment with all the suggestions given by everybody and see which colors would work best. Red and orange colored hairs look best in autumn colors in real life. You could even try a darker red like a brick red type.
For me personally the baby stage is the worst because they can't do anything at all. At least in this game you can click on them to see their needs, but it's still dull. Toddler is second worst, due to the mentioned crying for no reason thing. Elder is third. They can do whatever they need to, but take ages to walk there.
I was talking about the Disney Chip N Dale, but yeah that did cross my mind. Little Chipmunk working hard for the money. *So hard for it honey!*....sorry!

The next day, and George gets ready for his first class.
He isn't exactly in a good mood, but he does meet his class mates.
Why look! It's Esther Atkins! The girls who was supposed to be Gen 4's wife! The she vanished from the relationship panel, and I have no idea why.
So this randomly happened just as George left his class room. At this point he still got no attraction sign popping up, and I realised he might have just been experimenting as a teen.
Chatting with the woman who SHOULD have been his mum.

Studying for another busy day.
Day three, and the snowmen STILL haven't melted. I may need to delete them.
It's practical day, so I have to put up with a tonne of gibbering sims and radio signals. Annoying!
George heads to the Rebel hangout to grab a bite.
More studying.
Another girl who's name I can't remember. I'll call her Miss Overalls till I remember it. Again, he becomes fast friends with her. I forgot to mention, he's now at Charisma level 4 I think.
George does some more studying to boost his degree level.
Then he goes to the Jock hangout and becomes a level 1 Jock while bowling.
Then, he heads home to rest after a hard day.
Another class.

So, George bumped into a friend of his outside after class and started hanging out with her, when some dumb Pap threw a vial onto the bonfire, making his hygeine drop badly. IT'S NOT LIKE HE HAS A PARTY TO GO TO! Friggin' paps!
He was invited to Leonard Sheldon's party, but Leonard appeared very late to it.
George and Lenny soon become friends and George is closer to getting charisma level 5.
There was a huge jam when everyone tried to get to class, so by the time the professor finally arrived, the class was over. Annoying.
Miss Overalls and George had a very quick study time, before Overalls ran off for class, I guess.
George chats with another girl, again making a friend.
Exam time the next day! George passes with flying colors!
He then meets a purple haired girl. She's taken, sadly. Booo!
He invites over Miss Overalls and discovers she too is taken. So after much flirting, I decide to be a bit evil.
George convinces her to split up with her parter called Jim, I think.
In no time at all, they are boyfriend and girlfriend!
George does some more studying, then decides it's time for a party.
Lol, here in Canada we had Thanksgiving a month ago. But thanks Colorist
Thanksgiving was the usual for me. Everyone in the family met up at my grandparents' house, and after nibbling on h'orderves, we all tucked in to a dinner of roast beef and baked potatoes. Cake and pie along with tea and coffee were served as desert afterwards. Then we sat in the living room and chatted for a few hours before heading home.
Say, everyone, what did you do for thanksgiving? What constitutes as a regular thanksgiving dinner for your family?
@bleedingbanshe: thanksgiving for me has mostly been Sims. Other than the character design I've mentioned I have been altering a house for the first chapter of the new story I have been planning (random side note I hate building :P ). I finally have the plan and characters done now I just need to get the house in order.
Food wise thanksgiving dinner for my house is always honey baked ham. Side dishes don't matter much since most of them are things Mom likes but I don't.

At least they couldn't slow dance. Now that would be really creepy. True, peppermint is good. But the joke was on Ning Shui. Before I quit, I saw he had herb nausea. Yeah, I think she will be. Well it is just me and my hubby at home having a roasted chicken, green bean casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, and I bought a few sweet potatoes as well. Going to butter those up and sprinkle those with brown sugar. Pumpkin pie for dessert. Was watching my team the Green Bay Packers get slaughtered lol, and playing sims. Also sometime today going to remember to thank the Lord for all my blessings. :-)

(To those who celebrate it - I don't really celebrate it myself as I am new to this American stuff even though I have lived here over a decade but I do make a feast for my family for the benefit of my American hubby and son).
I hope everyone is having a good day so far. I baked a pumpkin pie last night and have spent the morning in the kitchen getting the meal together. Looking forward to eating the fruits of my labor and washing it down with a couple of bottles of wine :P

thesealofthesims I've had my fun with the test,but I've noticed no stories popping up about the other households in Lee's story at all except when she was online chatting with somebody and a message about the guy she was chatting with popped up.I've got her in a game where I left the townies in.I found a similar situation in Winfield during the whole time I've played there and it was more obvious in the test game where the second household didn't make any changes while I played with my main household.I ended up checking my options menu and EA's SP was clearly turned off.
I thought it was weird to not have stories pop up until I found out about the Sp being turned off.It looks like the glitch I had was mostly in a glitched game and I've switched from that game.
I have an idea for a new legacy I might play;

Yep, that's what I had in mind when I named him. It helps that his voice is really deep. If only spinach puffs were a food option in the Sims 3 ... they sound delicious!
I wish option of marriage would pop up for Sharron and Stiles. I've spent most of the game trying to get it in the social menu!

I don't know about a tutu, but I have stumbled across a few mods that allowed the men in the Sims 3 to cross-dress in a few hairs, skirts, tops, and dresses. Other than that ... there's not a whole lot out there for male sims that I like, admittedly. If my game continues to glitch I'll just cheat and add Stiles as a household member. You can't wreck my game that easily, Glitch Gremlin!

Here's my Portland game update.
Lee ended up playing chess on her computer for part of the morning to learn logic skill after getting up early that morning.
She started learning about repairing things for herself by reading the book about it after she'd played chess for a while.Lee stopped at lunchtime to get ready for the carpool to take her to work in the afternoon.
Lee came home in the evening to find she'd earned a raise and was tired enough to go to bed early.
I have a short update. Not much happened here, basically Clover and Cherry aged up into young adults and Acanthus became a child. The girls also took their university aptitude tests and headed for University.
Cherry was invited over to this guy's house after school. I don't know his name, so we'll just call him Bobby Hill for now.
Just before bed, Cherry tries to talk to Clover, but Clover doesn't want to hear any of it. She doesn't want Cherry's friendship at all.
Clover: Just because everyone else is so crazy about you, doesn't mean I have to be. Just don't even talk to me!
Cherry: W-What did I do?
Even I don't know why your sister hates you so much, Cherry. Clover is living proof that you can't judge a sim by their traits. She has some really good traits, but she's a total ******.
The next day, Clover, feeling rebellious, decides to skip school and spends time doing one of the more positive things that she likes to do, which is take different birds home as pets. Here she is befriending the Yellow Naped Amazon I believe it is called.
This, right here, is the very rare Lilac Breasted Roller. I had to get one of these for the family. Look at all of the colors!
The girls aged up that evening. Cherry, here, got the Great Kisser trait. She really blossomed, didn't she?
Clover also aged up nicely. Surprisingly, she got the Virtuoso trait. She's also up for download. Once again, this is my first time using this particular hair. It really seems to suit her. Also, I never noticed it before, but she has some very small bosoms. It was hard putting together outfits that looked good on her.
This is Acanthus. He takes after his mother in that he got the Good trait. He definitely looks like her, but now that I look a little more closely, he has his father's lip shape.
The girls graduate the next day. For some reason, they refused to go to City Hall. Don't you hate it when your sims don't listen to you? So here's Cherry graduating in the dining room. She graduated with the Highest Honors and got the Most Popular award. I bet Clover hates her even more now.
Clover ended up graduating with Honors (no high in there) and an award for Most Likely To Become A Rockstar. I can totally see this happening, can't you?
The girls wasted no time in taking their University Aptitude Tests. I didn't even bother to change them back into their everyday attire. Neither of them got any extra credit points, unfortunately. Still, I'm too eager for them to head towards University that I figure they can skill while there.
Nothing beats going to college in your cap and gown.
Felicia also waves good-bye. Too bad she's facing the wrong way and the girls are already gone.
I hope you have fun with the senile ones, Camellia.

squee1983 I actually had to put the bike rack in the apartment for Lee to even be able to own a bike.There's really no other way to store bikes in apartments.
LunBeauty Great update! The apartment is really only a temporary home for Lee while she replenished her savings before moving on from the city.

Chapter 1- A New Future
The buildings flew by as the car entered the Bridgeport city limits. Nyxie stared in amazement at the skyscrapers towering up into the sky. She'd lived in the small town of Violet Falls her whole life until now so buildings like these were something she'd only ever heard about from other people, to see them in person was phenomenal.
Her father glanced at her with the rear view mirror a weak smile spread across his face.
Mr. Drake: Enjoying the view honey?
Nyx grinned over at him.
Nyx: Yes Dad, the buildings are amazing. Violet Falls never had anything like this.
Mr. Drake forced a laugh, not wanting his daughter to see how uncomfortable he was. He wasn't fooling his wife at all though.
Mrs. Drake: Relax Del, their just buildings.
Mr. Drake: I know, it's just... it's so cold, so lifeless. I miss the trees, the streams, the flowers. I miss home.
Mrs. Drake looked at him sadly
Mrs. Drake: I understand dear, but we can't go back now. Besides just think of your new job. Think of the life we'll be able to provided for Nyxie.
Nyx: Mom, its Nyx, you know I hate being called Nyxie.
Mrs. Drake laughed
Mrs. Drake: I know honey, but your father and I named you that so you'll have to put up with it from time to time. Now go back to looking, we're about to cross the bridge so you'll have a great view of the ocean.
Nyx excitedly turned back to the window. The ocean was another thing she'd been looking forward to seeing. Another thing she'd never had a chance to see back in Violet Falls. Her father smiled, the banter between his wife and daughter had done a lot to brighten his mood, his wife noticing the more genuine smile ran her hand down his cheek in response.
Mrs. Drake: See Del, things aren't so bad.
This was the Drake family. Delvin Drake his wife Esmerelda and their teenage daughter Nyxie or Nyx as she preferred to be called.
Delvin had decided to move his family to Bridgeport after he was offered the position of chief of police in the Bridgeport police department. He had taken down the head of a a large criminal organization that had been smuggling through Violet Falls. That had gotten the attention of the Bridgeport PD and here they were.
Delvin hadn't wanted to leave Violet Falls, he liked it there, he liked the trees and nature and being able to fish out of the range of civilization. But the money was to good to pass up. As hard as he had worked in Violet Falls it was still a small town department and the pay reflected that. As much as he missed the forests and streams his family meant more, and he wanted to give them the life they deserved.
When Esmerelda had heard about the job offer she had stood by her husbands decision. A stay at home mother Esmerelda had seen her husband first hand as he struggled to provide the life he felt necessary for her and Nyxie. She loved nature as he did but she knew the reasons for his decision and hoped the extra income would help them lead a life in which they could afford to let Nyxie enjoy the remainder of her teenage years to their fullest. So she had gone along with the movie willingly. She wasn't anymore of a fan of the concrete and noise of big cities than her husband was but her daughters happiness came before her own.
Nyxie had been happy at the idea of the move. She loved to see new things, in a small town like Violet Falls though that was limited mostly to books and what other people said. This move however was a chance to see something new. A new place, new things, new people, and new ideas. She couldn't be more excited, and her happiness was infectious, its very existance prompting smiles on her parents faces. Even if they were far from their comfort zones Nyxie was happy and that meant the world to them.
As they reached their new home Nyxie stared in awe. It was a large house towering above her head. Their house before had been small, a simple one story home that could be afforded on her fathers salary. But with the new position had come some perks, including housing expenses.
Delvin and Esmerelda felt more comfortable once they reached the house as well. They may be living in Bridgeport now but Delvin had managed to find a place on the outskirts so that they still could feel some of nature around them, even if they couldn't escape the buildings looming nearby.
Myxie was the first through the front door excited to see their new home but as her parents followed her in they found her disappointedly standing in the living room, the house was still empty.
Delvin: Well thats annoying, it looks like the truck hasn't gotten here yet.
Nyx looked dejected
Nyx: Awww, I was hoping our stuff would be here so I could see the what the new house would look like.
Delvin: Don't worry honey, the stuff should be hear soon, for now why don't you two look around while I call Bonnie and see if she knows anything.
Esmerelda nodded and she and Nyx headed off to explore the house.
As they entered the kitchen Nyx turned to look at her mom.
Nyx: Mom, who's Bonnie?
Esmerelda: Bonnie is an old family friend, she knew your father and I when we were young. We fell out of touch when we moved to Violet Falls though but your father ran into her here when he came down regarding his new job. It turned out she works at the police department here so she has been showing him around the city and helped him with finding this house.
Nyx: Will I get to meet her?
Esmerelda: Most likely, no doubt she will stop by at some point to visit.
Nyx: What's she like?
Esmerelda laughed
Esmerelda: Do you ever get tired of asking questions?
Nyx smirked
Nyx: No
Esmerelda laughed again but seemed to mellow a bit as she answered the question.
Esmerelda: I honestly can't say what she's like. People change as time goes by. I haven't seen her in years. If she's anything like she used to be though you two will get along well.
The two continued their tour out into the backyard.
The down look on Esmerelda's face quickly changed to a smile.
Esmerelda: This is wonderful, there's a garden area all ready for me to start planting. I was a bit worried that living in the city would mean there wouldn't be any room for me to garden.
Nyx: Mom? Do you really think Dad would get a house without a garden? That was probably one of his top priorities.
Esmerelda: I know, but I was still worried.
A look of concern crossed over Nyx's face.
Nyx: You really don't like it here do you Mom?
Esmerelda: It's not that I don't like it, I'm just a little uncomfortable around all the buildings. I like to see things grow, and bloom. It's hard for that to happen though through concrete.
Nyx: So why did you agree to come here? You know Dad, he would have turned down the offer if you weren't going to be happy.
Esmerelda: But you were happy, you wanted to see the city, and his job offers a better life for us. I couldn't say no to that. Besides, even if I didn't have my garden I can still watch one thing grow and bloom.
Nyx: What's that?
Esmerelda: You. Always remember, as much as I like my plants and trees and everything else your still the most important thing to me. Your my favorite flower, and watching you grow and bloom is the greatest joy of my life.
Nyx blushed at the compliment
Nyx: Mom thats embarrassing, you sound like someone out of one of my books.
Esmerelda: Maybe, but it's still true. Now lets go in and see how your fathers doing.
Back inside Delvin had just hung up the phone. He looked up from putting it back in his pocket to see his wife and daughter enter the room.
Delvin: Well it seems the truck got delayed on the way here, a road collapse or something like that. Either way it won't be here until tomorrow.
Esmerelda: Thats to bad, I was looking forward after that long drive to making a nice home cooked meal.
Delvin: I know dear but it can't really be helped. Look I have to swing by the station to finish signing some documents before I start tomorrow, it shouldn't take long though so afterwards how about we go to the park and then go to a restaurant in celebration of our new home?
Esmerelda and Nyxie smiled in unison.
Nyxie: That sounds great Dad.
Esmerelda: Yes Del that sounds like a great idea. While your doing that I will actually head to the store, I need to pick up some seeds for my garden. Is that okay with you Nyx, are you okay with being home alone?
Nyx: I'm fine Mom, I want to explore the house some more anyway.
Delvin: Okay honey, just so you know your room is on the second floor at the front side of the house.
Nyx: Okay Dad, have fun.
Then she turned and hugged her mom.
Nyx: And you have fun too Mom, and thanks for what you said earlier.
Esmerelda hugged her daughter back.
Esmerelda: Any time honey, I love you.
Nyx: I love you to Mom.
And thats it for the first chapter, as said the second should be up later today (worst case tomorrow depending on how quickly the writing process goes).
