Posting again as it was hidden by the spoiler thing suggested by someone.
So far I love all the suggestions. YES! Let's bring back cafe curtains- Loved those!
Eco means being ecologically sound and sustainable. To reuse, recycle, repurpose and refurbish things with very little waste. That being said, fibers for clothing should be natural; cotton, wool, jute, hemp, silk, linen and animal hides; leather, suede and other pelts. Clothing should be simple earthy tones, hand dyed using natural dyes. Synthetic materials should be kept to a minimum if used at all. It is also holistic living, natural and self sustained. Gardening and mini farms, lots of herbs used for medicinal, cosmetic and decoration.
I'd love to see apothecary cabinets like these, filled with homey concoctions in mason jars. Wall cabinets with mason jars filled with herbs. Apothecary jars of herbs and various items. Mortor and pestels and potted herbs for the window sill or counter top. A rustic potting bench. Sun kissed somewhat wild hair styles. I've attached a link to my Pinterest board for examples. I am hoping this works because I couldn't figure out how to get the images posted here. Thanks for reading and looking.
Clothing should be simple earthy tones, hand dyed using natural dyes.
You're doing something wrong if all you get from natural dyes is earthy tones.
These are just some of the colours that natural dyes can get you... if you use the right mordants.
Faded colours occur when the dye isn't concentrated enough, but when it is...
Those are beautiful. I've seen all those colors on the earth. I should have said all colors you see in nature instead. I stand (actually sit) corrected. Thanks!
I'd love some long, loose braids for all ages! Double and single braids. Maybe some with hair ribbons or bows?
More long hair options for men and male children, messier than the current options.
Longer dresses for children! Loose, sundress and vintage (floral print, maybe), with pockets, patches, faded, or fancier bows and ruffles or lace options.
Some loose blouses, and tucked in ones. You know how in the 70s there was a little house on the prairie inspired clothing trend? I'd love any clothes like that.
Some suspenders for guys and gals.
Straw hats.
Sandels! We don't have a lot of sandels, and I'd like some that aren't just flip-flops. Simple two-strap unisex leather sandels would be nice, or some gladiator sandels. I'd like some for kids and toddlers too.
BUY
Mason jars, either with flowers or without.
More planters! We only have one version of each size right now.
A deco garden hose.
Light, airy, curtains.
Long grass, and maybe some cat-tails.
Wooden beds with faded or pastel floral sheets, in double and single. The closest we have is the mission bed, which only comes in darker colors.
Doilies!
Some hanging dried flowers or herbs.
Any kind of furniture in a wooden with peeling paint antique look, especially counters, bookcases, desks, and dining tables and chairs.
A table with folding leaves, in open and closed variations.
Some sort of homemade or vintage toys for kids, maybe a log cabin dollhouse, some wooden blocks, or ragdolls (either as toys or as the larger stuffed animals.) Also maybe a different model of activity table! I'm so tired of putting the modern kindergarten looking one in my cottages!
Shabby chic counters what a great idea! Toys, handmade toys, yarn dolls, rag dolls. All awesome ideas.
Those are beautiful. I've seen all those colors on the earth. I should have said all colors you see in nature instead. I stand (actually sit) corrected. Thanks!
Yeah, wording makes a difference. 'earthy tones' usually means browns, greens, yellows and oranges (if you're lucky). It usually is the shades of dirt, mud, moss, and leaves on the ground
Lets just hope I've given the designers an idea for the colour palate.
The funny thing about plant based dyes, is that you can get some crazy colours, that don't relate to the expected colours from that particular plant, all depending on the mordants you use (for those who don't know, mordants are metals that cause a natural chemical reaction, altering the end result)
Here's a great example of what mordants can do with natural dyes (in this case, cochineal, from a type of insect) https://sheepyhollow.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/cochineal.jpg
Typically, it's a bright red dye, but copper makes it brown, and iron turns it black.
With some plants, diffent parts of the plant result in different colours, the flowers may give one colour, the leaves another, and the roots yet another.
And while all this is technically natural, it really is all just chemistry.
If anyone thinks I've gone off topic, have another read of what I've posted here. Think about the posibility of natural dyes being a new crafty thing in the game. A combination of plant material (herbs, flowers, or even veggies) plus a metal/mineral, to get the desired colours.

Wow, all that is so interesting. I have only used vinegar for dying, well setting the dye and it was store bought dye. That's fabulous, it would be great to have more activities like that using all the different stuff our sims can already collect. I did show some pix of colorful clothing, but did not emphasize that. There is so much that could go into this pack it boggles the mind. I wonder how they will ever narrow it down.
What about Mehndi (henna tattoos)? While it started in India and used in their weddings and for other reasons, it's also popular in America for decoration. Here in Florida, slews of tourist shops offer them.
I've been browsing this thread again in my lunch hour and I'd love to second things like hammocks (could they be mimicked off a sofa or even a single bed?) and daisy chains/flower crowns (as hats rather than as hairs so you can mix and match).
Also I'd love to see more blanket type clutter - a sofa that came with a cosy-looking blanket draped over the back as deco would be very neat, or a bed with piles of deco blankets.
Maybe another deco item could be those keeper coffee cups?
Having them as functional items would be cool too, of course, but I imagine that might be harder to implement?
Also a hard yes to dungarees/overalls.
I'd love to see "woolen" clothes* and "wooden" furniture obviously but I was also thinking today about clay!
We could totally have some piles of plates or cups as kitchen deco.
So something like this:
in either "plain" terracotta or in some cool colours and patterns like these:
*Speaking of, I don't think anyone has mentioned socks yet?
Bc I'd love some chunky woolen socks for my sims.
And maybe you could include some knitting related clutter? Something like this?
And finally - if we're doing laundry, which it sounds like we are - we're going to need baskets.
You've got big ones like this to go in the laundry as decor:
And then you've got your little ones like this to go on the coffee table (and hold your yarn-related clutter!)
Also, and I can't believe I forgot to mention it - watering cans, rakes, empty pots (more clay!) and other garden-related decor would be super awesome!
Wood stoves! Fireplaces you could cook on too. Pottery and kilns - Just throwing stuff out there. Might be good stuff for the new game play items. I'll try n suggest them when it comes time for that. I miss the wood stoves from 3, tho. I loved putting them in my green houses with seating areas around for reading books on gardening. Awesome idea on the watering cans. There's so many great ideas in this thread!
I like that first one, but the second has more of a retro feel. I totally think the peasant look would fit tho. Easy to sew tops and dresses in muted colors and light gauzy materials - Definately!
I think it would be cool to incorporate healing crystals. They can effect mood, help sick sims, and help with tiredness and confidence and stuff. Like the plumbobs. They could be either decorative or found with the collectibles and then used in game. Like have emeralds and opals and labordorites and stuff.
Great idea! Would love some sun catchers whether home made painted glass pieces or crystals to hang in the windows, they could make you happy, calm, confident, . .. whatever and cast rainbows around the room as the sun moves (if that would be possible). But just sparkling in the window would be lovely.
Open shelving full of jars, and an island, but obvs. would have to be a single-tile version:
the hutch in that is also charming
Cabinets and farmhouse sink:
Washboard decor:
Wallpaper:
rag rug:
bench that's basket/cubby storage:
plants:
LOVE all these ideas, the cabinets, hutches, colors, window treatments - everything. Great ideas. Rag rugs -awesome! and Macrame too! Lots of handmade things and baskets.
also some herbs for the kitchen, like a parsley plant, chive plant, rosemary plant
Window sill herbs! YES. Parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme, lavender, mint and marjoram in little pots or - better yet in tea pots or cups. They should actually look like the plants tho. The ones in the game don't exactly look like the plants they are supposed to be, but I do love them anyway!
I would love to see some cute overalls that look like something someone would wear while gardening. A little messy, but still trendy.
I also would love a casual blue jean romper
As well as loose and flowing dresses that look boho but less bright and in your face than movie hangout colors.
And the last thing on my suggestions is long messy hair. The closest thing we have right now is romantic garden's long hair or the base games long wavy hair, but it isnt messy, just perfect wave. I'd like to see something more roughed up like this
What I don't get is, in what way is this ECO? It is hippy if anything
Well, it's all cotton apparel and unstyled hair. No curling iron, blow drying so no waste of electricity. Eco friendly is anything that won't hurt the environment as in plastics and over use of utilities. Stuff like that. How do you think it's not eco friendly? That's what I don't get. Hippy, BOHO and shabby chic are all eco friendly in that they waste not, recycle, reuse and live off the land.
@IngeJones in my case if laundry is in the vote i will vote for laundry i will vote for content i know i will use for my sims homes i prefer more modern conviniances like washers and dryers that can be eco ect no one plays the game the same after all.
A dryer cannot be eco friendly. However if enough people ask for an electric dryer rather than a clothesline then that is what we'll have
I would love a clothes line, even if only just decorative. We already have strings of lights how hard would it be to take off the lights and put some bed linens and kids clothes on it? Great idea, clotheslines!
This post is too good. It looks like my pinterest LOL
Anyway my suggestions:
CAS
- I'm all for hipster/hippie style (like those many have posted before me) but I'd also love it if this pack included some "homey / comfy" clothes (oversized sweaters, etc.). I feel, specially for females, most clothes are way too tight, revealing and why not, they look plain unconfortable and def not like something you would wear Sunday morning at home.
(How could would it be to get those leg warmers/socks that can be used instead of slippers)
Buy/Build mode
- I'd like a country chic style and lots of clutter.
Screen windows/doors would be great as well!! I'd love my sims to have a screened in porch without CC. Maybe an old, shabby looking porch swing?? If it'd just be a normal chair....No qualms with a working porch swing tho lol
The main reason why I voted for option B instead of A is because it reminded me modern provence style of living.
One of the cafe near my home (Central Europe btw), called PS Café really brings these vibes to me. Yes, I agree.. there is a lot going on in the pictures. Little overkill with all that decorations but it's great for an inspiration.
Another reason - herbs and flowers.
When it comes to clothing and hairstyles in B.. I'm not really feeling it. It's like from the modern farm or something. I would rather save it for more outdoor/country themed pack.
I'm not trying to sound basic but just look what people are wearing at Coachella. It's called boheamian style (but you already know that I guess). It's not that far from what you showed us. It's just better fitting.
Type "boho outfit" to Google search and you'll get thousands of pics.

Golden rod tops usually give a bright yellow, but ammonia turns it golden, while iron makes it dark green.
