So, I'm really not interested in the gameplay of Journey to Batuu. I like Star Wars but not for my sims. Still, I find myself wondering is the CAS and Build Buy options it gives are worth the (sale) price.
I'd appreciate people's thoughts.

Besides, the pack comes with new dishes to be added to the menus at restaurants and for the sims to learn by eating them. The expansion pack Dine Out is needed for using those options.
I skip babling about the gameplay as you're not interested about that, but I do it occasionally for funsies ...
Loving the CAS/BB.
Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
For CAS I really like some of the hairs.
Not exactly a build/buy item but I also like the food options which my sims unlock by eating them in a restaurant in oasis springs.
If you like the items, it could be worth getting it on sale but I wouldn't recommend it at full price.
O your sims don't play Sabacc?
For me, buying this game pack for Build/Buy & CAS alone is 100% worth it. Since JtB is pretty much an advertisement for the Disney themepark Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, you can expect high quality items (mesh/texture) that are above standard TS4 level. Attention to detail is excellent, in my opinion.
JtB's BB items live predominantly in my medieval / fantasy/ / steampunk, abandoned lots and (non Star Wars related) spaceships, which is pretty much all of my builds! There are some fantastic items in the DEBUG catalogue as well, such as overhead electrical wires (great for abandoned buildings) , sockets and a rag tree + fantasy tree that you won't find anywhere else. The Sabacc game is a must!
JtB-Build/Buy quick overview:
CAS is excellent as well, especially if you play medieval-ish, post-apocalypse or sci fi. There are plenty of different colour swatches to choose from too.
JtB-CAS quick overview:
The great thing about build mode and CAS is that- with the exception of 2 or 3 items- none of it screams Star Wars. It's a very versatile pack and right up there with my favourite packs.
The build/buy has some really cool pieces and I've seen some amazingly creative builds ranging from Apocalyptic/desert survival to shabby futuristic/Alien builds, to Steampunk and retro-futurist. The art design on all the items totally nailed it.
The CAS is one of my absolute favorites and I use it all the time. They are not only good for adding more Aliens and for Sim Alien wardrobes, but also for a variety of styles. I'll share some of my looks if you want to get an idea...
The pants on the right in this pic are from Batuu, I love them, they are great for Goth looks
If you have the EA app and you click on the Batuu pack and scroll down, you'll be able to see everything that comes in the build/buy and CAS.

The Batuu Positive Thoughts thread is huge, and some of the pics might not be active in the early pages, so I'd suggest going to the last page and working backwards to find some great pics.
I have yet to play the storyline, as I tried once and it was totally boring, but I will someday. I haven't played many of the story lines but will as I paid for them. Strangerville will be next on my to do list.
wouldn't say its super useful its mostly just " oh this one item goes here nicely, cool" kind of build items to me
like James Turner multiple times said
"Oh! Batuu!"
but also I am probably most clueless person to ask about Star Wars on this planet so yeah wouldn't know what to use this pack for if I tried π

Second this
Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
The gameplay, no.
Oasis Springs - Base
Strangerville
Evergreen Harbor - Eco Living
Also, for additional SiFi fun to use the following packs:
Discover University - Servo Robot & Foxfury Science Tree
Get Famous - SiFi Props objects
Get to Work - Aliens Lifestate, Sixam objects & Science Career objects
Unfortunately, Sims 4 doesn't have Time Machines or even Lunar Lake.
FYI: Remember to type in BB.MoveObjects BB.IgnoreGameplayUnlockSentitlement
BB.ShowHiddenObjects BB.ShowLiveEditObjects
Once did, but that was because of a mod. I had a mod that nuked townie spawning too well, even gamebreaking "well" , then it did. But that was years ago.

@BlueSeaWaves No, townies don't spawn with the alien heads. Devs let us know when the pack was released that those are actual heads that can be selected, as they animate. They do spawn in Batuu, as that location is programmed a little differently than any other "vacation" world. CAS is limited there for our own Sims, unfortunately, as is building, as it's supposed to be an immersive Star Wars experience, which I do understand, but I still wish Occult powers worked there. But I digress.
So no, all the heads and weird accessories do not generate randomly on Sims. They were designed to only do so in Batuu. If they do, it's a bug, but I've never had an issue with it myself.
Build items are good for junky, industrial, military, and alien lot builds. Sabbacc game is nice for creating a casino or a bar where sims gamble. I also LOVE all the hanging and wall lights. I resize them smaller and use them in all sorts of builds.
CAS stuff I actually used most for creating a crew of pirates, but also great for nerdy sims, aliens, spellcasters, imaginary desert based cultures, or other creative stories.
(I also love the weird drinks. And when my sim does go to Batuu, he mostly moonlights as a bartender and earns tips, which he then loses in gambling. Because this is the Sims, so I can play that way. Sometimes I just want to serve weird drinks to weird customers.)
@LiELF Thank you, thats what I was curious about. I have no problem with sims having those heads in the Batuu, it was just beyond thatπ
Awww, I enjoyed looking back through those threads.
@luciusstorm did you decide yet? I really enjoy using the BB stuff from this pack. Some of it gives off a great 'trash' vibe and can be used in those seedy neighbourhoods/poverty builds. The sabaac game is great for that secret gambling room in the back of a bar. The flooring is nice and I use that all the time. A lot of the pieces blend well with Steampunk builds. Some of the clothing can be used with 'normal' items to create a standard kind of look.
I'm not a Star Wars fan in any shape or form but I have thoroughly enjoyed the pack pieces. I even take some sims to Batuu occasionally - I pretend it's a theme park and some of my geeky sims are Star Wars fans and get a kick out of visiting and bringing back their very own light sabre.
In this case, it sounds like the general consensus is that Batuu's CAS and Build Buy options make it worth picking up, on sale at least. So, yeah, I think I will.
I want to thank everyone who has chimed in. @LiELF, thanks for showing some awesome sims that really showed off the potentials. @BlueSeaWaves, thanks for asking an important follow up question. Everyone else, just because I didn't tag you doesn't mean I don't really appreciate your comments! You're all Awesome and Insightful.
