Folly, your homes are beautiful. I think my fav is the Spanish one. Althought they are all gorgeous. I can't help notice the colors and details seem "softer" on the Sims 4 than on the Sims 3. Do you find that is the case? At any rate, I won't have any experience with the game until they release it for the Mac, and there…
Thanks Yanti and Stickie. Almost done...two bedrooms and a bath on second floor left to do. Made some adjustments to exterior outline to make it less boxy and create a more interesting roof line as well. Take care, Kirk
Exterior is completed and I've finished furnishing the basement (bedroom, bath and laundry in there), as well as the kitchen/dinning room. More rooms to complete tomorrow. :)
Great job 60209060! Has a grand feel to it. The interior is going to be stunning. The outside color of the manor is very nice, but I'm unsure about the boxy chimneys. If you have the castle set you could MOO together some more interesting chimneys, if not some columns MOO'd together might work nicely as well. Will be…
Fischio, just spent an hour going through this thread staring at the pics with mouth agape. Always been a fan of your work, bookmarked your blog on my previous PC (Why Plumbobs are Green). This is your best work yet. Everything ties together so nicely and is so regally scrumptious! Your roof work is amazing. Your sense of…
Just bought the 2nd Empire set from the Store, so had to start something using the new Mansard roof! Here's some WIP shots: Has attic and windowed basement. :)
Folly, love your new WIP. The cottage is very appealing. I like the exterior color pallet very much. It has a warm old-world feel to it...not dark at all. :) Can hardly wait to see what you do inside! Kirk
Manssom, very nice indeed. Love your color pallet. The kids rooms are a hoot! The position of the lot on the shore, jutting out into the ocean is awesome! Rec'd. Kirk
Thanks one and all! Your comments are much appreciated. The sims community is full of the best gamers in the world!! Loved your thatched manor saitouamy, rec'd. Thanks for the recs all. Kirk
Thanks Rita and Yanti. I finished the Casa del Sol Download Here so I can continue my more difficult Victorian builds. I'm almost done with the as yet unnamed yellow Gothic. Hope to get it done this weekend ... 2 games for my PS4 are arriving this weekend though so I don't know, LOL. Take care, Kirk
Thanks Rose. It is typical of a Spanish-style tract home found in the Southern California area where I live. I wish I could include more pics but I cancelled my Flickr Pro account when they removed features. I have a free Photobucket account now so I am limiting my pics to max 640 wide and only 4-6 per build. Kirk
Thanks Rose. You and Yanti are such great cheer leaders, LOL. You make my day! It's way past my bedtime tho. Going to get some sleep before Monday comes. Have a good evening (don't forget to get some sleep too) ;) G'nite
Cassee, excellent Victorian. As previously noted by others the roof and layout are perfect. I like the undulating ground around the house and the landscaping is awesome! Very attractive build. Sorry you are having trouble uploading. Have you done a bunch of CAP patterns? A few are fine, but I've found the uploader doesn't…
I haven't built any houseboats yet, as Victorians and bungalows are my forte...but I have built many a basement in a foundation. I like to build windowed basements, however, and I have a tutorial showing how. See http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/500281.page Hope you find it helpful. Take care and happy Simming!…
Thanks Rose and Yanti. :) I am about 80% done with the Casa del Sol, but typically of my hyperactivity, I stumbled across a bare build I had started some weeks back and forgot about...so Sunday night I began fiddling and here is a preview shot: A typical late Gothic Victorian. ("L-shaped" floor plans with a central tower…
Thanks Taryn. I've shelved that one tho, and come up with a much larger Spanish style home. I've also dropped Flickr for my many Sims 3 pics, as Yahoo has ruined it! So here's some pics of my latest WIP...Casa del Sol, courtesy of Photobucket. It has 3 bedrooms plus a nursery adjoining the master bedroom. It's on a smaller…
Nope, still broken. It's been totally messed up for a a few years now. EA don't give a blip! I never use "Misc" anymore. When an item only has one channel or color, and it's Misc then your stuck! Good job EA!
Thanks Yanti. I have another "Pocket" build that should be up by Wednesday. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bath Spanish Bungalow. Exterior's done, just need to finish the furnishings. Here's a peek: Kirk
Thanks for the advice. I was thinking a lot about stairs while on our Mexican cruise and have some ideas I am dying to try out. The offset idea was one of them. The "cross-grain" thing didn't occur to me, however. Definitely good to know.
Thanks ladies. We're back form our Mexican cruise and I am raring to go Simming again! I should have brought my MacBook so I could have tried some things out in game but didn't :( We're in San Diego right now going to have breakfast in our cabin before getting off ship and driving 3 hours home. Had a wonderful time but…
