  • Anyone have a backup of this accessory? Unfortunately the mediafire link is dead. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/17074555/#Comment_17074555
  • Thank you Pary! Your words mean a lot to me! DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park is such a cool place! A bit expensive, but gorgeous views!
  • It's almost criminal that the Sims in the Sims Medieval weren't patched back into the Sims 3, especially considering that they used the same engine. The game's biggest flaw was cutting too much of the simulation aspect out...when players really just wanted a TS3 in the Medieval era.
  • It's really quite a hard choice as TS2 & 3 aged like two types of fine wine (TS1 has its own campy charms). On one hand, TS2 really does offer an unparalleled and unified game experience out of the box, and the art-style has really aged quite well due to the high quality of the textures, while the charm of the premades…
  • Thank you @Pary :) Will definitely try to make a post on Boroughsburg in the World Creator Forums when I can. The fact that there's no other truly open-world, mouse-based, decently-polished, easily-moddable life simulator is what keeps bringing me back to TS3! It's really one of those rare few games that allows you to…
  • Boroughsburg V2 (NYC-themed world)- only minor edits to fix snapshot brightness and sharpness. IMO, TS3 is still the best in the series in terms of worlds!
  • Ladyvenerasims has the worlds backed up: https://ladyvenerasims.tumblr.com/post/175908066275/create-a-world-ambervillezip-bridgewoodzip
  • Hi all, if anyone is interested, a version of Aurora Skies with the snow & routing issues fixed is located here. You will need the original version of Aurora Skies to apply the fix. http://potato-ballad-sims.tumblr.com/post/177355341248/i-always-thought-aurora-skies-was-one-of-the
  • @MrCrumplebottom1 - Plenty of people still making worlds, but a lot of them are not on the main Sims forums. They're mostly on Tumblr or on MTS3. MTS3: http://modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=612 I think there are a couple of other sites around that have some worldmaking activity, but those are the main English ones I…
  • That world is by Nilxis. http://nilxis.tumblr.com/ He has a great variety of real-life inspired worlds, which can found here: http://nilxis.tumblr.com/my%20worlds (The other world up there is one I worked on, it can be found here! http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/13691211/#Comment_13691211) This mod…
  • Edit: Good lord I didn't know I was reponding to such an old argument :I Yes, you can't zoom out because if you do, you'll see the edge of the world. "Ease of play" means that literally everything beyond the playable area is decorative. No, the world would not be still more alive if had more playable area, unless you raise…
  • @Anticipation & @suzses , thanks for the comments! I hope people continue to spread news about the world around :) However, I don't have access to the original post, so changing the title is unfortunately out of the question unless I make a new thread (which I can't seem to, my discussions always seem to disappear once I…
  • It technically works- you just need to have the ends of each bridge touching.
  • Maxis is dead. You can argue that it's still there at Redwood City, but really that Maxis is more or less an extension of EA's main team.
  • You sure about that? I swear I've seen it happen several times. Regardless, I still find the system lacking, especially in the way sims are selected between lots.
  • Yes, but you can approximate their lives to an appropriate degree. I'm talking about Bob Pancake running outside my house at 10am on a Monday morning and again at 12pm that afternoon, when I know he has a job that he should be at, and Zoe Patel appearing simultaneously as a bartender and as a store keeper at the clothing…
  • It's all fake though. You're simply getting a endless conveyor belt of random sims walking by your house, regardless of time and day (and regardless of what their actual life and job schedules are). It's all a charade- there's no thought or system behind that. Really, it reminds me a lot of the Truman Show, where everyone…
  • Bigger question is why no time passes when sims travel between lots in the same world.

  • There is one (semi-India-semi-fantasy) world being worked on now: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?goto=lastpost&t=560138
  • There's a few people on Tumblr. This tag is active: https://tumblr.com/tagged/caw A bit of stuff here as well: http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=612 A few people:* http://nilxis.tumblr.com/ * http://bmilkyway.tumblr.com/ * http://stellatorontosims.tumblr.com/ * http://createaworldblog.tumblr.com/ *…
  • Reminds me how in the Sims 4, a sim who had a bartending job on one lot was instantaneously found working out in the gym beside it.
  • I like how EA has convinced you all that it's a "Either-Or" option. Come on, why aren't populated, lagless open worlds possible? Come to think of that, why isn't a lagless CaSt possible either? I'd say it's a lack of will (to create the systems that make it work), a lack of time (to actually implement those systems and do…
  • Oh, it's not too hard- you just need to do it at the end once you have all the buckthorns placed and grouped ;) You've probably seen it already, but here's an older English world that might be a good reference on the countryside (as well as general layout and cool tricks). Cladbridge-on-Stowe…
  • One suggestion I might make (dunno if you've finished terrain painting yet) would be to make the borders of the fields a bit larger (more grass under the hedgerows). I would also paint some gravel underneath the train tracks as well. I also mentioned this earlier, but lowering the y-coordinates of the buckthorn bushes will…
  • Is it really called 'saving'? I'd say more of 'withholding'.
  • If CAST was better implemented (like in plenty of other games), would you miss it as much? I'm always wondering if people are saying that they don't miss features because of the bugs, or because of the merits of the features themselves.
  • It's probably too late now for a Create-a-style tool- given that EA has already released several stuff packs and an expansion. Unless they've built in contingencies, it would mean that they would have to go back and change every item they want colorable.
  • Here's one: http://potato-ballad-sims.tumblr.com/post/121954130739/ive-heard-your-calls-to-bring-clear-bright-to You may want to adjust the probability weighting on the overcast skies so that it occurs more often.
