  • I only get this problem if I go straight from Build Mode to Sim Mode. If I go Build to Buy, and then from Buy to Sim, I don't get the wall move arrows popping up. It's a minor annoyance, but nothing to get worked up over.
  • Same with me. I removed Awesome Mod when I updated to 1.3, and I even deleted the Scripts Cache in the documents folder, just to make sure. And I still get the pathing issues. So it's not Awesome Mod dependant, there's something else causing the problem as well... edit: Well, time to show a little humility and admit it…
  • The only issue I've had is the extreamly handicapped freewill. None of my Sims in any of my cities can shower, and if any have houses with stairs, they can't go up stairs. I've pretty much shelved the game until they fix the problems that came with 1.3 because it's pointless playing right now. My neighbors are too tired to…
  • I'm getting the pathing issues as well. My sims refuse to do almost everything without me moving them right next to the object before having them interact with them. It's a SERIOUS issue because, should something break, like the shower or TV... the repair man won't fix it. Instead they sit in the door way complaining about…
  • My first Sim in the Sims 3 wasn't really anything special. A Red headed rocker. She was my experimental guinea pig sim while I figured things out in the Sims 3. The traits I gave her were basically to make sure she wouldn't have too hard of a time as a rock girl; Artistic, Friendly, Perfectionist, Virtuoso, and a…
  • Wow, this forum moves fast during the day. Maybe I should have waited to ask this later in the evening when things have slowed down ><
  • The first time I ran into the Gnome, I figured he would be a great orniment to my sims garden... I also thought there'd be a chance that he'd help with some of the greenery chores. So my sim brought the stubby little pottery home and set him down in the middle of my small garden. I honestly didn't think it would move or…
  • Thats actually kind of creepy. If someone was actually controlling me, they're doing a really bad job. I'd suggest they start using cheats, cause I could really use more money right now :D
  • And thats what I think, too. I get three or four emails a week about <SimmerA> wanting to be my friend, and they don't even know me. Same goes with Twitter. I don't understand why everything has to be a popularity contest with some people... Like having a large number next to thier "Friends" means something? Especially…
  • I'd have to say the number one way you'd know if you were a Sims 3 addict was if you could speak fluent Simlish. Poor Sid was only getting close, so if you could top the creator of the Sims and thier funny, quirky language... you'd get the honorary "Sims Addict" trophy from me. (Not that I actually have a trophy like that…
  • I agree. This weeks hot topics like the Spore Contests are fine, as are the rules, but the story progression should have been unstickied once they released 1.27, as the issue was resolved in the last patch. Also, I think it's been long enough that they shouldn't need a sticky for the update, anymore, because people either…
  • The things I love about the Sims 3 are how easier it is to do things which were otherwise chores in the Sims 2. New clothing, for example. Instead of having to wait through loading screen after loading screen just to increase my sims wardrobe, all I need to do now is click on the dresser once, and then add to my hearts…
  • Seasons +1 The Seasons expansion for the Sims 2 was my favorite. Though Pets comes at a close 2nd, I think seasons is most important because it gives more detail and life to the entire city, as opposed to single families. City changing expansions, I think, Will ultimately be more important in the Sims 3, given how much…
  • Hmm, lets see if I can remember them all. My author sim was the first sim I played, and she's long since passed over... Her Drama was called "Novelia" She made two science fiction books; "Weapons of Warp" and "A Case of the Giant Robot Ninja Zombies" Her Fiction includes two titles I can't remember off the top of my head…
  • given that the weather in Sunset and Riverview is always sunny (with small chances of partial clouds), I'd assume tempuratures would be about on par with the southern most states in America... so I'd be keeping the air on even throughout the night. It's gotta be hot in Simsville.
  • The Meteor start is awesome if you have a lucky sim in the family. One of my first games started with this special, and one of the three largest rocks, after further investigation, came up being a whopping $7,350. That family got about $15k total for all the space rocks laying around, and repair/replacments only cost them…
  • Mid-Life Crisis will let you change your 5 traits, but it won't alter your lifetime goal. I don't think there is a lifetime bonus that allows you do change that. Or, if there is, it costs so much that it's fairly negligible to bother with it since you'd have to spend a completed lifetime goals reward just to get it.
  • Sims in the Sims 3 seem to have unpredictable behavior. I've seen the same thing, where one family enjoyed the dishwasher and used it all the time, and another completely avoid it at all costs, no matter how easily accessable it is. It's either some problems in AI pathing, or there's some really complicated behavior…
  • I'll probably wait for a few reviews from the players, get an idea of what to expect from the expansion, maybe watch a few broadcasts (since there's bound to be at least a couple when it's released) and draw my conclusions there. I still play Spore on occassion, though not regularly, and not for long when I do.
  • Man, I'd hate to see the medical bill for that visit. Congrats to the Doctor who delivered all those babies... he now has enough money to put his great grandchildren through college. For sleeping, I suggest buying the cheapest beds on the market... as many as you can afford. And then just assign sleeping schedules. Timmy,…
  • I'm not sure about collectors edition, but anyone who preordered the Sims 3 on EA Store got a link to download a song from the Sims 3. Nothing new though, everyone has the song in thier game. Not even sure why that was a preorder bonus... seems rather... trivial. I got the discounted Sims 3 and MySims Package. Figured it…
  • The game often creates a list of likes and dislikes around a family. The personalities you give them don't really effect their compatibility with family as much as other sims. Instead, it may compliment them. A neat sim can take care of a slob sims messes... a Tech Geek may be handy for a techniphobe when you need to…
  • Most real life houses are built in the same fashion. For one story houses, bedrooms are often places in the rear of the house because a family spends the least amount of time in the bedroom. The front room was originally a family room or den where the family spent most of its time together, and many modern homes still use…
  • Heh, squishy face. I don't think it looks bad, but in the Sims world, you kind of need to exaggerate the eyes, sometimes other features as well, otherwise the Sim looks a little strange. Think of Sims as caricatures of the actual person, where over exaggeration makes it looks more real. I admit, this could also be personal…
  • Skin tight leather. Has to be red leather, too. Suspenders are optional, but if you use them, you need your pride button permanently attached to it. In Re: to the censored in these forums part... yeah, it's censored because gamers typically use that word to explain distaste in a certain thing. I'm sure **** (the r- word…
  • Thats how it usually is. People who are loving the game, are playing it, not spending time in some forum expressing thier love for it. People who aren't loving it, who can't run it, or generally hate <insert reason here> will spend thier time complaining about it on a forum. Official Forums are cesspools and breeding…
  • Wow, what a slap in the face... EA won't let us send private messages? This isn't something I'd feel comfortable explaining to everyone on the net. Remember, this information could potentially leave your system very vulnerable if you don't know what you're doing. That wasn't directed to you LightSide, but anyone who isn't…
  • Hmm, turns out to have been an issue with Kaspersky. I haven't totally fixed it yet (well I did, but not the way it should be fixed). Once I unmonitored every Sims3Launcher activity through Kaspersky, I was able to upload again. Not that it's that big of a deal. I doubt EA would send virus through the launcher. Though I…
  • Chrome is actually my default browser, though I'm not sure which browser the Sims 3 Launcher is using. And I've noticed the sims 3 website doesn't like IE8 very well, so I'm sure that could very well be the problem. Though I suppose it's good to know I'm not the only one having the problem? Hopefully EA can give a good…
  • Judging by your attitude toward fellow community members, I'd likely assume that the reason the EA support person was rude to you because you were extreamly rude to them, to start with. Not that I would support EA tech support for that behavior, it's unprofessional on both sides... but evil begets evil. Also (as stated…
