  • Hi! First of all thanks for this initiative! The lack of enough depth and challenge in TS4 has been a recurring concern of the community for years now and I’m hopeful something good will come out of this! I will try to be brief for the sake of whoever has to read through this (because I assume there will be hundreds of…
  • What I'm saying is that you don't have a problem with this TS4 EP in particular. And your point is unfair because you make it look like it's a TS4 specific problem when you still haven't been able to tell how the experience in TS2 or TS3 was any different from "having Cassandra over". My guess is that you just don't like…
  • I haven't had problems adopting so far but if it doesn't work for you,you can always add a cat or dog through household management
  • That's such an oversimplification. But anyway how exactly were cats and dogs different from having Cassandra Goth over in TS2 or TS3? (with the exception that in TS3 you actually cheated to add her to the family and they became another controllable sim?)
  • Sure!! :D Of course this is not a exhaustive list (I'm just listing what comes to mind and mind you I've only had the game for a day!) - Brindleton Bay: I have been waiting for a world like this since TS2 times. I really disliked Windenburg (I know I am in the minority here) because I didn't care for the…
  • I have to say I have never been a fan of pets, the same way I was not a fan of toddlers in particular. I was in fact very angry when I learnt that this year's pack was going to be pets and not seasons or uni. And I am however surprised at how much I am enjoying this pack. And note too that I didn't like city living much…
  • I can't see my relationships with people because I know how I feel about them. The same way I know if I need to go to the bathroom or I'm hungry. Not the same situation. It's the sims so of course you need to know those things if you're playing AS sims. But you're not playing as a dog. The fun part is that you're playing…
  • I have mods and CC (only the mods that have been updated for the latest patch) and have no problem with disappearing bowls even when my sims travel...weird
  • I'm totally okay with that. I have a dog in real life and I can't see her needs either. But I can look at her and tell what she wants from me. Same way, when my sim's dog want to communicate something they do: earlier today I was surprised to see my sim's puppy walking in circles and staring at the door. She needed to go…
  • "From what I'm hearing"...perhaps you're only listening to what you want to hear ;) I'm not havinng any of the issues you mention and I can tell you that cats and dogs has added a lot of gameplay value to my game. My sims now have more stuff to do when their home apart from skill building and the pets are hilarious and do…
  • To be honest I don't really care for anyone's opinion and I just can't understand why someone would make a buy / no buy decision based on some influencer's opinion. I know youtubers like Deligracy will always praise the game no matter what so their opinion is irrelevant to me. The same way I know LGR is usually overly…
  • Well I'll give that to you lol the developers overlook many things and there are many missed opportunities here and there, so it's perfectly possible that the agility course will have no effect at all in pets' fitness levels. But in any event, even if that was the case, it shouldn't be too hard for them to add in a patch.…
  • I haven't had time to try it out to be honest...but how would pets slim down otherwise? I mean they have fitness sliders so it would only make sense that (like sims) they can get fat from eating too much and fit from exercising.
  • You can indeed see the changes because cats and dogs have both fatness and muscle sliders. And I'm pretty sure the agility course can be used to slim down your pets when they get fat from overeating.
  • You keep going on about this "pets not having needs at all" thing in every thread with absolutely no evidence of it (no doubt hoping the message will sink in and begin spreading so that people can start complaining about "object pets"). It's most likely a bug and it's not affecting everyone. My sims' pets definitely have…
  • I haven't run into any game breaking issues (or any major bugs at all) but bugs act in random manners and not everyone is affected by them, so there's only one way to tell...
  • It's funny because people (myself included) Have been complaining for 3 years that the player has too much control in this game and that there's hardly any challenge or random things happening (which makes it too predictable and less fun). And now they give us this (which in my opinion is a step in the right direction) and…
  • Again have you experienced this? Can this e.g. be caused by mods? I haven't seen anyone mention this issue on Tumblr where I'm mostly active. It seems every time an expansion is out it's the people who don't even have the game who complain the most because of stuff they "have read somewhere and happened to someone else"
  • I adopted a stray in the beach so you don't need to bring them home necessarily. The option was there after I clicked on something like "offer friendship".
  • That's not my experience at all. In fact I feel like my sims' dogs spend most of the day eating (they stare at their bowl or bring it to your sim for them to fill it up at least 2/3 times a day). They also get dirty (and not only when they play in the mud). My sim came home from work and found her puppy chihuahua had…
  • Love it!! It makes pets unpredictable (because you can't see or control the actions they're queuing). I have found myself following pets more often to see what they're up to and end up laughing out loud at the silly things they do. It also makes the fear system more interesting because sometimes your pets will be afraid…
  • I think you can either adopt (phone or computer?) or just add them directly through CAS (mirror/dresser). You can also befriend strays and adopt them (when their relationship is high enough a new interaction will show up: adopt).
  • i have to say that I love the fact that pets are not controllable. They're so unpredictable lol Ir reminds me of Ts2 times. I keep following them to see what they're going to do next lol My sim got a loud chihuahua and she keeps waking my sim up every morning at dawn! And of course she barks at every dog she sees. She also…
  • I don't think we're getting cars for the moment and if we are they will be no different from the boat in Brindleton Bay (click on it and travel; no animations whatsoever).why would they bother adding animated cars when they cannot even bother animating sims getting on and off a boat that's permanently parked in the world?
  • What I want: weather including snow, gift giving, Christmas objects with functionality (e.g. A mistletoe for your sims to kiss under, Christmas cookies that summon Father Christmas/Santa at midnight, etc.), new kind of party (new year bash), some of the missing NPCs back (e.g. Burglars), colour wheel from CAP expanded to…
  • I think I'm more mundane than all that lol I'd like to see a go to school pack, with a proper school system for my sims (elementary school, middle school and high school; and of course preteens for middle school), school social cliques, private and public schools, grants, consequences for being a good student or for…
  • What they need to do is give us options to turn certain seasons on and off per world, as well as the duration of each season in every world (like tS2 and TS3 did) If i want it to snow in Oasis Springs it should be my choice not the developer's. That's my only hope: that they allow us the flexibility to customize seasons in…
  • I guess then it's less likely...unless they added an on and off toggle for seasons or made the patch completely optional which I doubt. Anyway I was not very hopeful so cannot be too disappointed...
  • But the rest of the trees surrounding your lot (including trees in unendurable public areas) won't be affected so it won't really be a very immersive autumn experience...I think I'll stick to the autumn-fall mod for the moment
  • TS3 rendered a whole open world at the same time (sims still went on with their lives in the background e.g. Going to work at the appropriate times etc), and worlds were HUGE. I can understand how weather on top of it all is more taxing to the system. However, TS4 only loads one lot and a limited public space, the rest is…
