I may be wrong, but I don't think that you can do that. I think that when you move a household to a new town, all family (outside the immediate household)and friend relationships and property ownership will no longer exist. Like I said, though, I might be wrong.

Yeah, I figured it may have something to do with the CC, so I deleted everything from my "Downloads" folder to see. That didn't make a difference. I'll use the backup and follow your other recommended steps and see how that goes. Thanks again for your help!

...but how is that possible? I haven't downloaded any non-EA-made items/patches into my game. I have zero mods. I've been having this exact same problem. My garden stops changing, so I continuously have to replace my house and family (as a new game file) to jump start it. I found a solution to my problem! I saved my entire Sunset Valley household in the bin, then switched to a new game in Riverview, placed that family and their house on an empty lot, and the klepto and fishing problems were solved! I'm so glad I didn't have to start a whole new game. I didn't want to lose my inventory items…
