I preferred whims and it makes no sense to me that they didn't expand the mechanic to incorporate wants/fear and also hook in likes and dislikes for that matter. Where the whim system beats the new wants/fears is that whims were contextual to location and other sims. A sim might get a want to chat to random sim, but by the…
A good thing here, I reckon. I grumble enough when there is something I don't like. I like this. Sure the base game is basic, but it is very playable. There is fair amount of hours of absolutely free play to be had. I hope they don't go too full on with in game ads for DLC, etc. I hope most of that is kept to the main…
I sometimes wonder if the people who come with these new tuning or mechanic ideas have actually played the game. What's wrong with adding some new traits? Phone Lover is one idea, for example. We have Art Lover. Or maybe likes/dislikes. Dislikes Tech. Loves Gadgets, etc. The basics for this stuff is already in the game. If…
I am still confused by the word account? This is a new twitter account? So just something else to add to clutter in following news for a game. Just as a matter of curiosity and assuming I have really bad FOMO, how many twitter accounts would I have to follow to get all Sims 4 news? Not that I use twitter anyway - the main…
Maybe I am just being dim, but is this sign up to something different? Not the normal EA account? Follow something different on twitter? If it's an update on the game why not just post it in the usual places?
@phantasmkiss Tidying up after is OK. If you have played sims visiting currently non-played ones and the played ones leave then the visited sims lot seems to reset after a short period of time, even if there are broken toilets, showers etc. I am a long way from a regimented rotational player and make very liberal use of…
Whims were never really developed any further than the state they were in on the release of the game. Then for some reason, they decided to hide them and if you wanted them and then you had to go into the options to turn them on. Whims were alright in my book, random stuff to help you progress the game forward. They…
You don't mention if you use mods, but MCCC helps a lot with rotational play. When you switch to another household, you will certainly encounter your other played sims in the world. MCCC will allow you to do some remote actions on those sims when you are not playing them such as social interactions, changing outfits etc.…
So they U Turned from multiplayer with 4 and ended up with today's current pastiche and now they want to have another go? I guess they are believers in the 'If it at first you don't succeed...'mantra Certainly won't be the game for me. Also looking in my crystal ball at their attempt to bring The Sims to the so called…
The whims changing with emotion is what I liked about them. A sim gets inspired and they want to cook, paint, play music. Similar with other emotional states. If there was a chat with [insert random sim], I could cancel it. Now my sim is stuck all day wanting to talk to someone the sim barely knows all day. The listen to…
It kinda works. But there is a lot broken and the laundry lists always seem to have some obscure bugs on it that I have mostly never seen. Whereas the main gameplay mechanics seem to be suffering from some really intense entropy. Routing is off with sims doing the slow walk through furniture and door frames. Setting an…
I have only just started playing with the new patch so am just encountering them for the first time. My take is I simply want whims back. The wants/fears have lost all context. Not only could you cancel whims out to make them appropriate to the sim being played, but they would change depending on the mood of the sim and…
@manicobsessive Thought I would let you know that I have actually had my first fear appear - Fear of the dark. OK cool, thinks I...except the scared moodlet for it kicked in at 11.00am in the morning on a sunny day  SMH
I have just responded to a similar query in this thread: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/1002537/origin-just-automatically-began-repairing-my-game I'll repeat the post here: I was one of those that got forced into patching. As it happens I have got the game pretty stable again, but it took me just shy of two…
I was one of those that got forced into patching. As it happens I have got the game pretty stable again, but it took me just shy of two days! I started in the same position as you, but decided to do a computer reboot and when I launched Origin, it said it needed to update. In the past i have always let Origin do that and…
I have updated the game. Installed a set of mods and though I can play offline with Origin, I can't with the new EA App if anyone is using that. Going offline in the EA App and then launching the game means that non of my expansions or packs are recognised as being owned.
