Turns out the monkey thing was a different installer type thing I had which I just uninstalled. Still unable to get the nrass mod to register with the game. Ok I tried the new monkey installer and I'm still having problems. The mod isnt registering at all in the game now. I figured out that the text problem was because I didn't have the text file in the mod packages. Now I need to figure out how to get the mod working in the first place again.

I have that monkey framework thing, I think that id delphys. When I double click the file it says could not find a valid directory. I think its looking for one in the sims 3 file, but I heard i need to have it in the ambitions file. Also my other mods are working fine so not sure what the problem is.

Yeah, I'm probably going to have to do that. I was actually going to install one when I reinstalled the sims 3, but in the creator of Nrass thread he said that the new patch fixed story progression so he wasnt updating the mod... I guess we're playing 2 different games or something because mine is far from fixed.

Alright so I moved my family into sunset valley, I added about 4 custom families made up of premade sims to the town. I added about 20 of them in total. Verdict: Story progression.... is definitely not fixed... Honestly this is no better than when I played it back in 09 when it first came out, and it really kills the game…

I know, but that kind of ruins the immersion for me. I like to feel like the town is a living, breathing, and somewhat realistic town. I feel like that is the whole point of story progression. Ok I just checked out the town. About 60% of the houses, as in lots with houses on them, not empty lots, have nobody living in them. Many of the houses that are occupied have only 1 or 2 living in them. There are literally about 2-3 families in the town that have 4 or 5 people. Basically its pretty deserted... I don't know…

I like normal because as others have said, caring for babies for long periods of time or toddlers would be unbearable for me. My wife sim had level 10 cooking, was at level 10 in the chef career, and had the natural chef trait. she makes perfect meals 100% of the time. She also has the most expensive stove. I had 3 boys too, and they each came individually without the fertility thing. I think you can call the adoption services to take your baby so you don't end up with a ton of boys.

the best way to make money is to write. The medical career seems pretty tough and doesn't pay a lot. Make your sim write books in her downtime and she will get a lot of money in royalties once she gets to level 10 writing. also getting married would help you as you would have a second sim to make money with.
