After seeing more of those pop up on tumblr, I decided to face my fears, lol. Some oberservations: - Being androids, Rika, Daniel and Connor are lighter than humans of the same height. - Gavin stating that is is of perfectly average height will only get him headpats from the other guys.
I don't even remember the cheat anymore, only that it existed. Sims 2 cheats were so long compared to what we have now. Mods made everything simpler - nowadays I just adjust age with Sim Blender in Sims 2. (Although there also is an option to write commonly used cheats directly into the start.ini. Never used that method,…
Technically it's "all of the above" for me too, every option on the poll has occured in my game. But some are more common then others for my sims. I guess because I enjoy dining out (or just eating) a lot irl, so my gameplay choices would reflect that. @Lenny_Ogg It doesn't have to be the big Happy End, chapter conclusions…
Rotational play might be the way to go for you. Turn off aging for everyone but the active household. Then play as always, but whenever you get desinterested in a household, add your new sims to the same save. Soon you will have a web of co-workers, friends and rivals. Think of boring job tasks like "Get to know a sim at…
As expected, my sims dine out or have drinks most often after a harrowing adventure. But I was surprised that "Kiss" and "Family time" were the second and third most common motives. I don't consider myself a family player.
Always off except for Seven toddlers and Family on a Budget challenges. My story runs at a slow pace, often I play a simsweek and it represents exactly one week in the story, too. Then there may be a timeskip (to fast forward pregnancies and the infant stage) and then we go back into slow time again.
To be honest, I dread the idea of future life simulations making us define our sims' height. I'd be totally stumped. Some of my Detroit sims have a Wiki entry that gives their height, so I know that Gavin is the shortest, but not by much. I try to keep that in mind when I pose him and Daniel, but other than these two, I…
For eating it depends on the dish/cutlery, it seems. I've seen adorable screenshots of righthanded/lefthanded sim couples that looked as if they were locking arms while eating next to each other. (Will hunt one down to post here.)
I have a rarely played sim by name of Savi, who already opened the Forgotten Grotto and builds lightsabers for my force sensitives (and for pretty much everyone who pays him, admittedly). He will expand his repertoire and take on at least one apprentice. Alternately there is Armitage, who wears a very prominent turqouise…
Just a Resistance cell cooking together in their base: It's one of the factors why, for me at least, The Sims has such longevity. On the story tier I can have heroic adventures, but also play out the downtime. And on the gameplay tier other games have hitpoints, magic points and maybe food items to restore those, but the…
I've had infants and toddlers return from daycare with nearly depleted hunger bars several times, what can be potentially dangerous. Realistically an impoverished teen would use the daycare option, which is government-provided, free, but unreliable. Paying a nanny would be the luxury option. Be aware that daycare has an…
I always was a fan of the store concept. The way I see it is this: Packs give the player who wants everything in them a discount, which is great, of course. But what if I want only half of the content? I'd rather pay for exactly what I want only, even that mathematically makes each item a little overprized. For example I…
My simself never married. I'm not comfortable with a sim based on me being in a relationship with another sim that I created myself. Maybe I should try marrying a premade sim or one based on a franchise character. My main sim, Daniel, has married often, but I've lost track how often exactly. He never divorced, the…
- The objects get a "show off to [pick a sim]" or just a "show off" option in their pie menu. - Paranoid sims owning a unique object might get anxious about it getting stolen.
I like that a lot! I wouldn't want every object crafted by a 5-star celeb to get the unique quality though. Maybe make "Make unique" an interaction with a 24 hour cooldown?
I'm glad they introduced a new skill, hope it's a ten level one. Making the Lunar Cycle matter a little more is welcome, too. (It got patched into basegame, correct? So for now it had little to no effect to players without Werewolves?) My only concern is that they may once again lock some CAS content, requiring players to…
Many of my sims attend uni from from home, because I don't use Britechester and Foxbury lore, but make believe my sims attend real world universities (I look up acceptance rates online and then roll percentile dice - sim that don't pass go to the neighborhood college). Of those who moved out for uni recently, some moved…
I'll have to rewatch with pausing a lot, but so far I spotted two tool clutter pieces (one wall mounted, the other for surfaces). My archaeologists will love these plus the display cases. Also perfect timing to release this while I'm still in my Star Wars save with the sage/tinkerer specializing in crystal lore. My Savi…
Most of the time it's instantous, but at rare occasions the menu lags. I haven't found a rhyme or reason to it (tbh I didn't track the occurences either).
Context: The pictured sims were in the room behind them. Outside two sims are arguing. Somehow the two pictured sims tried to go through the door at the same time, what resulted in them standing like this, with their backs to the doorframe. It looks as if they have second thoughts and would rather go back inside immediatey.
@mightysprite That's my favorite outcome for the BFFs. Well, not the plantsim-part, I never thought of that, but them forming a throuple. That, or finding love outside the household. I couldn't ever break them up.
Self imposed restrictions can go a long way. The sim is homeless? Then they probably will not get hired for many jobs and may not have a selling license. Maybe they don't even have a legal ID. Your sim painted a valuable painting? But they are a nobody, so who would buy this? Ten lilies picked last week? Picked in whose…
I always include some supernatural elements in my saves, but which ones and what status they have (or whether they are even known/believed in) varies greatly. The default setup is this: In my Detroitverse the most prominent "occults" are the sentient androids. They rank the same as service animals and can get bought and…
@JustMeAlb Or paintings from a no-name sim with no connections whatsoever. Getting to know the correct sims is an important step for my would-be artists and entrepreneurs. @Mstybl95 Oh, the caves are not down there. You find them by doing the mountain hike event. The first cave you will see after climbing the third steep…
@Mstybl95 If it makes you feel any better, day one owner of Snowy Escape here, too, and I only ever knew about the first cave, the one from the screenshots. Only this year did my sims (and I) find the second cave, in the summit area. I just never took them around that paticular corner. Your improved neighborhoods look…
@NRowe I really like your solution with asking Sabrina to cook. That way the story goal was achieved, but the sims had no unfair longterm advantage. And now they have a new contact in the world, it's perfect, actually, because it happened so organically. Another thing that came to mind is that I sometimes "cheat" with…
