Daniel Reed: I started out as a perfectly regular android, but turned into a werewolf right after they were discovered. I feel much more in tune with myself and the world around me now, as if that piece of myself had been missing all the time. Which one is your favorite of the local forests (Bramblewood, Moonwood,…
Playing the game I do not play outside music. But when I sort through my screenshots, update my chronicle or blog, then I often have Shanties playing in the background (Fishermen's friends, Stan Rogers and YT playlists compiled by Cpt. Halyard). It started when I was playing my Captain Ahab challenge and the cottagecore…
I resumed playing a neighborhood I have last played in 2021, but with a twist: The neighborhood chronicle had started with two FBI agents, a human and a servo, conducting an investigation the custom neighborhood Pitstop Valley. They fell in love and bought a house in Desiderata Valley. Since then about ten years have…
My favorite aspect is definitely every household being its own save. Knowing I will return to the exact moment I left my sims returns so much control over the time flow that got lost in Sims 3 and 4. I think I would have put Wants and Fears as my least favorite aspect, but now that I got used to how Sims 4 venues work, my…
In my defense, I didn't pull that assumption out of my backside, but got it from the PRIMA guidebook that had the "official" label (and otherwise very detailed and helpful information.) As for the rest, you're totally correct, it is a very different experience from what I remember! I have way more fun with the landfill.…
Oh, no. That throws quite a wrench in my get rich scheme. (I have an old guidebook (in german) that claims townies have limitless funds and will be able to afford everything, so that was what I based my plans on.) I'm not too familar with SimPE, other than using Sim surgery and changing names, but after reading your reply…
I do not know of any dedicated cc organizers, but for clothes Wardrobe Wrangler would do the trick, and for general cc SimPE. That last one may be a bit overkill just for the purpose of looking at your cc, though.
Sims with this skill can create the vampire potions (like sun resistance and Plasma Jane) and create plasma packs, so in case you play a vampire, their mortal friends can help them survive. If your weres and vamps aren't at friendly terms, it could be a fun pasttime to make the vampire cure, find vampires, defeat them in…
Evil sims enjoy seeing other sims be miserable. Maybe try to find a sad, tense, embarassed or uncomfortable sim and mock their emotional state? (Just an idea, I don't have the pack.)
A thousand time yes! Since you mentioned JtB, this is actually how I'd set up a time travel GP. The three regions could be Egypt, Rome and either Gaul/Germania/Brittania in Caesar's time, each with a corresponding faction that the player could join.
Before getting Seasons, I used the hot and cold weather categories to set my sims' costumes and things like their work clothes for gardening. I really miss those ten extra slots. Especially for Geek Con it would be extremely useful if we could set a costume for each sim or tick a "this sim won't cosplay" box. I'm aware…
I probably should have seen it coming... This is my new sim, Ethan, a veterinarian/freelance werewolf researcher, who just gave Rory a gift she disliked, resulting in a festering grudge. So far, so random. But here's the catch: Ethan is just starting out and is always short on time with all the skills to level and…
@fazemanpress In addition to controlling your servo yourselves, I think you can also automate them to focus on certain tasks like nanny, gardening and security. Your servo gains experience and the more it has, the more behaviour modules you unlock for it. I play with free will off, so the modules don't do anything in my…
I have only two, a townie and Clive RK300. Clive lives in the larger penthouse in San Myshuno and acts as his family's bodyguard and butler rolled into one. Quite honestly as a bodyguard he leaves a lot to be desired. My plan is to teach him the Medium skill next to protect the family against paranormal threats. I like the…
Stay as close to EA normal if you play the game for the time management aspect, otherwise I'd recommend going aging off and aging up the sims when it feels right. I play short, normal and off in different saves (main save is set to aging off), depending on how much I want to challenge myself. It may be a hot take, but once…
Still skipping to toddlers except in specific challenges. I don't even have the infant update yet. The new lifestage and Growing Together look like nice to haves, but nothing so critical to my playstyle that I'd be in a hurry to risk my game. (Yes, I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to bugs and new features. But watch me…
I'm one of those 2x3 bathroom builders, too, and in Sims 2 those rooms had only a shower/tub combo and a toilet, not even a sink. It took immense time to train myself out of the "sinks are inefficient, and sims will autonomously use them even with free will off, so better not provide them at all". Showing the private…
No trait or skill level should outright guarantee a job opening and neither should traits make getting a job outright impossible. There always has to be a slight chance for success even for the least acceptable appliccant and as well a slight chance for failure for even the best fit. With that out of the way, re-purposing…
I don't have GrT yet, but I already have a good idea about Kyle's backstory. See, my main save is focused on the sims in the detective career, so three guesses where they know Kyle from... "Have you heard? Kyleson is out of the slammer. What did we arrest this guy for again?" Whichever of my sims gets called by him first…
On the one hand I can understand wanting the sims to act more believably, but those changes may just lead to generalisations. My personal gripe with this change is that age-based modifiers do not reflect how sims in my setting socialize at all. To them which social class and faction (career, neighborhood etc.) one belongs…
Sylvia Cahill from Sims 3 University is in my family tree as George Cahill's wife and mother of Erwin Pries. (I headcanon her maiden name to be Pries). I never played her, however, I don't even have University, I just browsed Sims Wiki for familiar surnames. Erin Kennedy was in my very first Sims 4 save. She married Tank…
If you disable "Temperature effects on sims" in the game options, your sims will no longer get the freezing moodlets and cannot die from cold, but they will still do the shivering animation. I play with temperature effects on in regular gameplay, but this is so useful for scripted stories!
I agree! We already get popups for story decisions like changing traits, why not for this one? I have some rivalries in my game going on already, it would perfect if the sim I imagine as being rivals actually filled that role for each other. "Oh, no, looks like SimName has entered a workplace rivalry! Do you have already…
Since Life by you teased the possibility to edit everything to my liking (a Quest editor was mentioned specifically), I do not think I will accept anything more restrictive than the Sims 4 version of aspirations and whims (before Fears got re-added). That said, yes, Project Rene should indeed take the Sims 2 route for…
Update: The finale was interesting (to me anyway). In the end the difference between the jury's favorite and the runner up was in a single simoleon the winner's written report (book) was worth more than the loser's. Episode here Poll here
Getting all the developer tools is great, but I'm sceptic about the real dialogue. The game putting words into my sims' mouths was always a big red flag for me, and being able to edit the dialogue trees can only ever alleviate that problem, not negate it. Sure, I can define things like "Which candidate will you vote for…
