  • Let us not forget the Collector's Edition too at $69.99. My boyfriend's GameStop received 20 copies of the CE, and 70 copies of the regular edition. We'll round down to about 20% (it's really 22.22%). Based on those numbers: EA is getting about 14 from each copy of the Collector's Edition. There were about 280,000 copies…
  • I would love see those numbers myself, right down to how bad the eletric bills are... EA posted that 1.4 million units were sold in the first week (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6211752.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=topstory&tag=topstory;title). Certainly that is not the end of the sales. People are still buying the game, and…
  • Thank you to everyone who has posted so far. I am adding content to the main post as I get it. Working in retail, I understand that numbers, not words, are more important. Like how I can't sell something because I don't have a certain type of giftbox. They think that lost sales justify the cost of the box, but when you…
  • I think it turns aging off for everyone and then you'll need a birthday cake to age sims.
  • Artistic. I'm constantly doodling even at work. I'm also Natural Cook, Computer Whiz, Bookworm, & Handy... Maybe just a little Evil too...
  • I wonder who told you that. My boyfriend is an assitant manager at GameStop (same company along with EBX and Planet X), and he hasn't heard anything. I'll ask him when he gets home tonight, but usually he tells me right away so we can pre-order it.
  • I wasn't upset with the concept of the Store. I was upset with the prices which I almost could have delt with except that they stripped items out of the game to sell in the store! And those "free" points don't even cover what was lost. I did the numbers and posted them here -…
  • If a quarter of the people who bought the Sims 3 bought a quarter of what was in the store: Over 1.4 million copies have been sold, 25% = 350,000 copies/players 258 items at 56 cent per item = 25% = $36.12 minus the "free" $10 -$26.12 EA gets - $9,142,000 from their store. EA has made over $70 million from the base game…

  • And thats why I'll never have children! I'm scared now...
  • Don't trust "Can Your RUN It?"! Just for giggles I tested my laptop for World of Warcraft (the expansions) and it said I failed! I play that game all the time with no problems what-so-ever. I will probably try to install TS3 on my laptop now.
  • Hehe, found it! They were hiding it on me.
  • Where'd you get the keychain part of your plumb-bob?
  • I miss spiral stairs from the first Sims and the "telporter" even though it was kinda silly.
  • I believe you have to have children with a fireman to get a child with the pyromaniac trait.
  • Though I haven't actually had any babies in game yet, I know you can't kill them in the crib with fire. I was reading the guide and they said the crib will never burn with someone in it...
  • The point is: Yes we would be willing to shell out our hard earned money for extras, but the things in the store right now should have been part of the game! We were given almost nothing to start with unlike past versions of the Sims. Also, I don't think I should have the pay the equivalent of a "Stuff" or "EP" and only…
  • Though I don't know all those games, I know most of them: Have great graphics that were improved if they had previous versions (CoD) Multiplayer option Are well designed and don't need expansion packs to complete the game in content or gameplay The Sims 3 has been stripped down to the bare bones even for a base game that…
  • Free $10 for store isn't free of course, because it came with the game which isn't worth the amount of money we were charged for it of course (even if you took the $10 off for the card). I was lucky because my boyfriend works for GameStop and got a discount when he bought the game for me (I got the Collector's Edition aka…
  • I've actually just been playing around with it (you know putting it over my head and such). There isn't anything that great on it. Some wallpapers, screensavers, and one track (the theme). I really expected more, but atleast I get a sweet looking 2 gig storage device.
  • I just got TS3 as a gift (collector's edition too, love the plumb-bob), and found it wouldn't run on my laptop (a 4 year old Dell XPS). I didn't pitch a fit, or blame EA for the requirements (especially since I found out my new photoshop wouldn't run either). I was lucky it would run on my boyfriend's computer. I love the…
