Eco Home series:Links on page 1 and Last Eco home on page 38: The Commune

i thought i was sick of modern homes for a while after my BnS challenge build for week 10. i spent a lot of time on it and after that home i felt i had exhausted the imagination and gave them a break. now after finding a temporary solution to the annoying floating ceiling after using the CFE cheat from addict1220 i bring you The Aurora.

This is not a large house but is inspired by and eco-freindly design which is very popular at the moment. what caught my eye was the bright orange which is visually interesting.
the house is uploaded and can be found here and will be part I of the series:

The Aurora

below are some pictures of the interior.

the home is a one bedroom luxury home and i believe it looks great overlooking the ocean. this doesn't give it much backyard but by all means move it to a larger block. comments would be appreciated (block size 25 deep, 30 wide)

Part II of my eco home series was suggested by allium. pictures of the home can be found on page 4 with the download link found below:

The Solanum

Part III of the eco series. this is a personal favourite colour but red seems to be very controversial. to see pics of the inside have a look at page 6.

The Venetian

the pictures for this home start on page 8 if you want to check them out.

Here is part V of this series. it uses a strong green and makes a real statement. thankyou again allium for the colour suggestion. it turned out great.

The Tahitian:

for pictures of the interior see page 10

This is part VI of this series and also my first adaption of this style to a 2 story home. i hope you enjoy

The Oasis

pictures for the Oasis can be found on page 12

The Sherbrooke

Here is part VIII of this series and it goes out to all you magenta/pink fans. it was inevitable that i would build this home it was just a question of when. i thought the name was a nice touch too (simpsons fan as well  )

so here it is:

The Malibu

Screenshot-10-4.jpg

http://au.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=992350

if you want to see pictures of this home have a look at page 17

Ok this one took me a while to get the courtyard design right but it is a nice deviation from the designs i have been doing. so this makes the home part IX of my series. i hope you enjoy

The Sienna

Screenshot-24-2.jpg

http://au.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1048295

pictures of this home are located on page 23

here is part X of my eco home series. it came to my attention via Jalida that i had not done a long block (20 short side 30 long side) in this series. this is for jalida.

The Summerland

Screenshot-29-2.jpg

http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1054036

pictures are on page 24

here is my newest addition to the family. another 20x30 lot for down by the beach (or where there is any appropriate block) it is a luxury one bedroom home. so enjoy part XI of my eco home series

Screenshot-52-1.jpg

http://au.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1061561

pictures can be seen on page 28

ok so here is the Blausaure. it is part XII of my series and is named blausaure after the colour used. blausaure means blue acid which is a compound derived from prussian blue die. in english it doesn't sound that great but in german its pretty good (well at least i think its german :? )

The Blausaure

Screenshot-73.jpg

http://au.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1063086

for interior pictures see page 29

The Sunburst

Screenshot-88.jpg

http://au.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1089296

for pics see page 31

here is part XIV of this series. this home is named after the jade stone which is a very similar colour to this homes green shade used throughout. its very tranquil and inviting.

The Nephrita

Screenshot-92.jpg

http://au.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1089961

for pictures of this home see page 32

In celebration of part XV of this series i have my first 60x60 lot. this home is the biggest so far in lot size and file size. so without further to do here it is

Whoa, PM! You are a modern machine! This is another beautiful build, of course. I love how it looks! You pulled off the skylight fencing and the little flooring awning bits over the windows are awesome! Interior wise... I swear I need to build something with the ultra lounge set JUST ONCE! I have it and it takes all of my will power not to use it in any of my uploads. But I think I am going to have to break down at some point... It just looks too good!

And I spy your avatar this time! Mmm.. waffles. :)

Also love what you did with the paintings and light sconce. It fits in between the spaces so nicely.

The outside yellow is a bit too bright for an exterior my taste, but I love the warm, toasty colors on the inside, especially the kitchen cabinets.

i know i caved in to with the ultra lounge set. i like it so much. this is mainly an exercise on how the annoying floating ceiling can be overcome. i don't much care if it doesn't get downloaded a lot but my avatar seems to like it...and his waffles

(P.S. it is a little pricey for a 1 bedroom home  )

Wow, really nice . You can never have too many moderns imo. There's just so many fun things you can do with them to make them unique and your lot is no exception. Digging the orange especially how u used it with the porches. They look so cool :). The only visual problem is the kitchen, but it's not your fault, but EA's. When are we going to get some modern style bar stools? Rec from me when you upload

Edit: What's your solution to the floating ceiling?

    J

for some strange reason i always have issues uploading homes with custom patterns. i guess they always make the file size to large. i have it uploaded now but i will tell you what i had to change. the bathroom and kitchen floor and wall tiles ans the bedroom feature wall. its sad but had to be done. those patterns are from TSR if anyone is interested in them.

    just over $71,000 furnished

i think a lot of the cost comes from the garden. its very dense
Edit: What's your solution to the floating ceiling?

    J

J you have to open the 'room' up. when this happens the ceiling disappears. Nevar says its due to the game recognising it as being outside or something. i did this by taking out a little of the wall above the entrance and replaced it with the glass fence and changed the height so it didn't stick out. as there wasn't anywhere else to put it i tried to blend it into the design. i hope this helps

Love it! The bold colour, the clean, sleek design inside and out :), the planting is perfect - not overdone. The interior is gorgeous too, I do love colour co-ordination!

nice job. It's on page one at the moment with 80 downloads so it's doing quite well so far. I was surprised because of all the premium items the home would be basically unfurnished to players who haven't got items from the store... oh well I have :? so if I decide to play it I can use it... man the ultra lounge set looks really good in these photos.

thanx for the comments. i think jasons avatar would fit in perfectly. maybe a little too well :?

alli thanx for the comments. i like this home too. since i am a bachalor myself it would be perfect for me.

anju i am happy for you to hang around. it will help it from being buried by the other pointless topics that pop up. also where you heading? is it nice there?

Jason if you want i can upload one without premium items if you like. it wouldn't be that different though i think the square lounges in the game wouldn't look as good in orange :D

also i am happy i have a good laptop. thats what i play my game on. the only issue is if i go somewhere without a power point. oh the agony

OOO have a lovely time ! Well...if its rainy and horrible you may have to surf the forums in a internet cafe ;) ...just to keep dry of course! :D

Peace I'm just thinking (it could be a dangerous thing....!) it would be lovely to have a series of this 'style' of home with different key colours.....a little mini-designer street.....

anju i was thinking of blue, actually more specifically azure. its the complementary colour to orange. man i love Wikipedia. i think i might branch into some two story versions as well if i can make the CFE cheat work a little more to my advantage.

Seannelson thankyou for the comment. i think it is a step up from a micro home. wish i could build those like exdemon1120 but i am not good with space saving. this is sort of like pre-fab houses in design though. i do try to link the interior and exterior with one another.

be back in a minute. i am going to change my siggie to one that suites this home.
