i'm gona have a border & a patterdale terrier then i'm gona try to adopt a wild horse, a stay dog and a kitten and for my 100 baby challange game a border terrier and adopt a kitten
I'm not sure yet, i may make my real life dog like i did in Sims 2 pets. She's a Visla, though im not all that sure if Sims 3 Pets will have that breed again. (Haven't played CAP demo)
Then again, can always make my own breed! I'll likely create some sort of alien breed of dog/cat, and give it to an alien household.
in my crazy duncan family i am unsure what pets.. but in my simself family it will be horses with possibly 1 dog, a chow, and 1 cat a persian. Two animals i loved and lost that were very dear to me. The horses cause my dad refused to get me one.
Well I want alot of horses but I want like Cats and dogs too... I want around 7 horses one of them i'm not sure If I should but maybe not and another horse as a unicorn, then I'd want three or two cats and two dogs and other living things like snakes and birds and I will have the biggest lot and make jumps a little track and my house and stables joined together where it's like the barn on the bottom with the stairs outside as I have my house on top. I want to make lots of room for my animals to run around in and that. and for my horses they can have their own space with a little like lake for all animals I think the biggest lot will be enough? (Sorry kind of went into detail then into my home/lot - I'm just excited :DD )
I wish i could put all my creations in, but like dollylover said if theres a household limit (which i think would limit your game a lot in my opinion) then i just have to choose a few of these for each family I'd love to play them all together!
And if anyone wants to download these they're all on the exchange all these pics will be posted in my comments, and I had started my own thread before I saw this one  lol) Anyways I just want people to enjoy!
Ahaha, with spirit and Rain is the same I wanna do!! :P
I have thought long and hard about this...
Of course what I'm about to say is only for the beginning, I'm sure as the game gets older I'll change pets as often as I change underwear. Lol.
I'm usually very impatient and would want to explore everything right away...
But seeing as there is a crappy 6 pet limit to a household, I'll have to think wisely.
I plan to start my household off with a female horse. I'm not sure of a specific breed, but I'll create whatever I see fit and that I like. I will also have a female dog. I'm thinking I'll create my own Mutt that will feature more of a Border Collie/Kelpie/Heeler look as it would really suit my ranch style home to have a herding dog. I will attempt to breed my dog once at this stage of having two pets which will increase my chances of having a litter. If I have two pets then I'll have 4 pet spaces left for my household and seeing as litters can have up to 4 puppies. I will probably then sell the remainder of the litter and give up the mother so I can have just one dog which I can raise from puppyhood to adulthood. I will then adopt a female cat and do the same thing that I did with the dog, although having that one extra pet, I will only be able to have a litter of kittens with a total of 3. Then I will keep one of the babies and sell/give up the remainder kittens and mother. I will then breed my horse. Seeing as horses only have one foal at a time I will have no problems. Yes, you may be thinking... Why don't I just get the horse later in the game and this will give me the option to have a full (4) litter of kittens... Well ya see, because horses are the newest feature of all the sims pets expansion packs, I cannot wait to test them out and see everything that they have to offer. If I wait through all of the above I'll get a little impatient. By doing this, I'll be able to test out all the features of the horses (a side from breeding) until the very end when I do decide to breed.
Personally myself I prefer male animals to females, however I will start of with females so I can witness the breeding first hand. Who knows what I'll end up with in the end. I may have a house full of dogs, I may have a house full of cats or I may fill my whole ranch with horses... which it is completely designed for.
So I think I'm going to have a LOT of room spare until I eventually get heaps of horses.
I can't answer this question this way because I don't have just one Sims household but 232!
They will get whatever fits and that could also be no pet at all. It just depends.
I've been working on designing lots that will be good for pets -- right now I've got a couple going that will work for horses (a lot of spare space to add the stables once the pack comes out). Next will probably be smaller lots with an area I can turn into a pet yard so my pet can play without having to go to the special pet lot.
Definitely going to have one family that'll have at least one, maybe two horses. I have my farming family the McBeans in the bin ready to add (Dad is a Level 6 gardener, Mom a professional author, and they're expecting their first baby), and they'll probably get horses, a large dog, and maybe a housecat. I was hoping to have my new computer (with 16GB RAM!) by the time the game is out but looks like I'll have to wait so I'll have to be careful not to have too big a household or the lag will be intolerable.

Other families, I don't know..

a dog or two for my family-loving sim,
I think 2 gaurd dogs for my vampire's, or zero pets
2 or 3 cats for my culinary sim.
And then I'm creating a rancher, with 1 dog, 1 cat, and 2 horses
