Great processor, by the way. Sims will be a total dream to run on that monster!
i7 980X @ 4.2 GHZ Evo Galaxy 1250 watts|Asus Rampage III extreme|Corsair Dominator GT 6GB 2000 Mhz|GTX 480|OCZ VERTEX 2 320GB SSD/Wd 500 Gb storage|Xfi Platinum sound card|Gpu/Cpu/Mobo water cooled|Obsidian 800D|
you will have no issues at all with that game running every sims 3 sp/ep at all
tho as some one said get a evga 560 runs cooler and uses less power
i also switched out my 980x for a i7 940 and seen no difference in performance,i only had it for video rendering/photoshop so if you want to save money get a i7 940/970 and put it towards a better graphics card or better monitor
for that rig i hope you have a 24 inch 1920 by 1200 monitor or 27 to really take advantage of your graphics card
and you can use that money towards a ocz vertex 3 ssd which would benefit you much more than 2 hard drives in raid and be 10x the performance.
and you will have extra to get a even better graphics card
trust me u will thank me if u get a vertex 3 ssd your system would boot in seconds,as for the gpu it will run cooler/less power

that's a good pc for gaming sims 3 will have no issues at all but personally i feel that is way to over priced for that system.
Well the good thing is I'm getting it for free, and he did drop it to the i5-760, the EVGA GT 440 and a 500GB hard drive w/ 2TB external
o ok,if anything ask to keep the 460,the other stuff is just fine for sims 3
Thank you for the reply!
Do you know what is the real price of the system like that?
And if comparing with the OP PC that she is getting soon - which is better: her PC or my configuration? or are these PC the same?
sorry for too many questions. I don't have any friends or relatives that are PC literate
Hi Lily I would have to agree with Rud3 that the PC is over priced but nice, my original specs I posted can run between $1200-$1500 with out the moinitor.
A good thing to do is if there are computer shows in your area try going to one and you can find nice deals and the vendors build on-site. I got on for my kids for a lilttle over $300 which was just something basic.
Thank you for your help guys! I will look and see if I can find similar PC for lower price. Too bad I can't build one myself
I think it's overpriced too, but since the price includes shipping, labor, monitor, keyboard+mouse, speakers and some other stuff + guarantee - it's not that bad; I will think about it. If I won't find similar PC for a lower price, I will probably get that one. I have a nice PC right now and it's just 1 year old but it's all in 1 and I can't upgrade it - It's HP Touchsmart 300. I bought it for $1200. It's a nice system overall but the graphics are not good - ATI 3200; and what annoys me the most - I can't upgrade it :?
