@Lenny_Ogg Thank you for the tutorial! I've never used the hazard tape before. Great idea. Love your enclosure example too. I've had to fence in all my livestock because they were running around everywhere! 😄 Using doors and gates though can get tricky sometimes. Luckily, I haven't noticed the minis going off the lot--so far. But I'll definitely try your idea. 👍 I don't particularly like all the fences I have up right now.
My Chestnut Ridge family originally lived in Strangerville (before HR). Today, I had them visit the Strangerville bar that I'd renovated with CC before HR came out. Since then, I added a few items from HR and tested the lot with my horses.
The CC saloon doors work well. Sometimes it takes them a few seconds to reset after they're used.
The horses were content outside. (The two horses in the back are just decor.)
Prairie grass can be placed in other worlds.
Lacey (Friendly) likes to come indoors, but Pache (Free Spirit) stays outside.
@Lenny_Ogg I tried your idea for hazard fencing. I removed the fencing around my unsheltered barnyard area and replaced it with hazard fencing covered with prairie grass, shrubbery, and a pond. The pond takes up space but will be nice for Simple Living. I like the change. 🙂
Unfortunately, this save was in Winter, but I also took a screenshot in world build mode. BTW, I'm trying a Free Range mod, so the cow and llama also wander around. The animals can all get into the garden area, but they don't bother the plants.
While testing for the smallest possible stall size, I realized that placing the hay rack and trough on top of the horse bed works just fine, so having 4x4 stalls is possible.
You need moveobjects to place both feeding items and the door to the stall, but horses can then enter, exit, eat, drink and sleep (including laying down) with no routing issue.
I think it only works from one side of the horse bed, but didn't test extensively to confirm.
(I obviously do not condone confining real horses to the smallest possible space, fortunately sim horses know how to open doors)
Can't get enough of Ted showing off on his horse, this was an intense ride.
I saw someone grow their sheep so I did, and it was the best.
So while she's plotting taking Meredith's soul the next step was shrinking my goat and all is right with the world now...lol.

My sim Taryn moved to Cordelia's secret cottage in Henford on Bagley. She made a few changes so that Sabrina will feel more at home and they love it there, What a beautiful world for horse riding
My werewolf is hiding out in the isolated canyons as he try to get rid of this werewolf curse. So he adopted a horse and is learning how to ride it. This horse has a bad temper and is constantly trying to bite him 😂😂
And hey, a werewolf gotta eat so I got a goat and sheep.

Since he heard a cure could be possible if he finds a mermaid he set off to a journey to Sulani.
I like how if you call for the dog he will follow you on the horse.
Bonus shots I thought were really cool. I was trying to get my sim lost at sea to get saved by a mermaid and totally unplanned he kept getting struck by lightening and gained power so I went with it lol.
Gallumphing along through Del Sol on my big red heart horse (not too much gallumphing, wouldn't wanna give him road founder). There's a couple spots in L.A. like around Burbank near the LA Equestrian Center where the crosswalks actually have a crossing button at horseback height on the street light pole.
I made a little 3 horse barn and a house on the cheap 50x40 lot in Del Sol for my simself and my 3 horses. 4x4 in-and-outs with small runs off the back of the stalls and an arena.

It was snowing, there were festive sims going on walks and the neighborhood houses were decorated. So pretty!
And here we have Kelp, the Unicorn who lives on the beach with his Mermaid companion. (I love the hoofprints in the sand!)

Here is a little tutorial on how to build a 'fenceless' enclosure for your goats and sheep
Use the 'Hazard Tape', the goats/sheep won't cross it.
Then decorate to your liking to cover up the tape

They only sleep there because during the day they are out to pasture or working. Keeping them locked up in a stall all day is not realistic.

The Boys finally found the invisible farm.
A mysterious guy named Conny already made two of the rooms habitable again.
The goats showed them around.
Vlad: "And there's everything we need. It could have been far worse."
Jack: "This Conny guy did an amazing job here. I already love him!"
There are two rooms habitable for the time being.
Kitchen, Dining and Living in one room. And the beds in the other room.
