You regularly give song titles, and I have recently found myself trying to imagine him actually performing them and realized I don't know what it would sound like. Although I'm sure he's one-of-a-kind, is there an irl artist he would like to be compared to?

I spent a lot of time thinking about The Sims this morning, and how getting several expansions at once isn't great for me as I'm left wanting to do all the things that sound fun at once and never really getting anywhere as a result. So despite what I said yesterday, I'm going to scrap this save and start a new playthrough, trying to be more focused. One thing I've never done is come up with a backstory for a sim, and I hope I've come up with a decent one that will help me stick to this playthrough. I'm embracing gaming as wish-fulfillment and injecting a bit of myself into this.
Austin Simlington grew up physically disabled. The last few years he has been recovering from his gene-editing treatment, and on the day he becomes a young adult he is ready to take the 20,000 simoleons from the progressive government of Simland as compensation and start his new life.
I'll move him into a tiny lot in Newcrest, with his future wife as next door neighbour. He will go on the athelete path, starting with the skinniest body possible to reflect his life so far.

I consider him a Rock Star. I suppose if I tell you which songs on the Karaoke machine he sings at his concerts, you might get an idea. He nails Hotter Than Sin, and always closes with Night After Night. In many ways, the Karaoke machine is more Pop driven. But he has such a good scream in Night After Night, that became his signature piece. He's a tenor, voice-wise. I did record a portion of his performance once. I'd have to find it in my files. I certainly have no clue how to post it, that much is certain.
I listen to the music he's writing on the different instruments and let the melodies dictate the title to me. Erik is very creative, artistic and is a Musical Genius. Oh, he and Kayleigh sound really great together when they do a Karaoke duet, under Pop. Hope this gives you an idea. Thanks so much for your interest in my character. He started out as a minor part in the mini-series in my siggie. Playing Sims has allowed me to flesh him out more. And gives me such joy.
The First Term ended, and all and I do mean all five of them had top-notch grades. This should draw the notice of the Dean, right? They quickly launched into the next round of studies; getting the homework done for the four classes. Since they didn't quite get the same head start on the Term, as they did the first, I'm very glad I selected the lot trait that allows for homework to be completed more quickly. Erik did step out after he finished two classes' worth, for a concert and a photoshoot (that's his bread & butter) and then was right back at it to finish the last two classes bit of work. The others were able to continue on, since Erik's leaving is to a rabbit hole (thank you, Sacrificial) and I can keep an eye on them. Joey, surprisingly, managed to complete all of his work, first. (In the past, Joey has been the one I practically have to tie to his books). This time, he's happy to just get down and get it done. He only has a Term paper to do, so I had him start on that.
Kayleigh is finding things a bit hard. She keeps having crying jags. Erik is beyond himself to console her. Poor guy doesn't even know what's wrong. Maybe, she'll open up to him at some point. In the meantime he does his best to brighten her day, to let her know how much he loves her, to let her know he's there for her.
The others had Presentation boards, as well as a Term paper. Perhaps because they now have experience in making them, they finished up with Excellent boards in good time. I cheated up their needs so they could work through the night. Saturday, they had a Prom to go to, so they'll have a bit of fun. Erik was made Prom Royalty, and they all stuck it to Malcom, although he wore his Jester hat with pride. Go figure. And good for him.
During the mad dashes to class, the students who had Presentation boards to present, managed to squeeze in time between classes. All the Term papers have been submitted, too. Erik even had time to go to the studios and release the already packaged album. In the Wake of Time, his fifth album. Come Sunday, he was delighted to find his mother at the Starlight Accolades. She won an Accolade. Later, near the end of the Show, Erik won Best Song, for his ballad, When the Roses Bloom. Since he dare not place his trophies on a shelf, his inventory is growing heavy. LOL Somebody already nicked his Oscan doll, given to him by a fan. So much for making his side of the dorm, homey. They now have 4 days left to their Second Term.
Jaime aged up to young adult. He chose to not go to university right away ( he wants to become a marine biologist), instead he would work some part-time jobs and save money until Hayley ages up too, after which they would get married and move to Sulani together.
Lucie, being technically dead, did not age up (she and Jaime are twins), but I still moved her out of the house to Glimmerbrook with 100 000 simoleons. She has a part-time job at school newspaper and earns good money from video game tournaments, so she'll be fine for now.
Two more weeks until Gunther graduates from university - he and his ex-wife used to struggle with paying bills, so by the time his side projects finally started to bring in enough money to save, the twins were already at high school and their elder sister Hela had kids of her own. After that it's rotation time.
I made a new sim and moved her in an apartment in San Myshuno next door to Penny Pizzaz. Didn't realize she was so famous she got a whole billboard to herself. Here's my sim casually having tea and ramen with the billboard girl.
Also, not sure if this is new behaviour, but all guest sims helped themselves to tea. How nice!

New Year's Eve. Luckily for Joey, he had finished all of his homework before the group decided to head over to Darby's Den, for a holiday meal. There were still two days left to this Term, and another Term before they graduated. Another holiday away from home. He was rather glad the menu included real turkey. Despite it being a Fasting day, he indulged himself. By the time they were ready to head back to their dorm, Joey was dazed. "Ha-ha, food coma, Joey, when are you ever going to learn?" Erik teased. The rest resumed their homework, keeping half an eye on the clock. They all were intent on watching the countdown to midnight. They also each grabbed a drink from the globe bar, too. Erik was concerned as Kayleigh was acting strangely. Sad. She was also doing her best to avoid him. He wanted very much to kiss her on the stroke of midnight, as was Tradition, but she weaved her way through their gathering and when he found her, she was fast asleep in her bed. What's up with that, Kayleigh? Are you breaking up with me? Erik sighed, blew her a kiss and then headed out to give the scheduled concert. Throw in another photoshoot and it was nearly dawn when he returned to Wyvern Hall.

She got eaten by a cowplant. A family friend, who happened to be around but failed to plead with Grim collected Lucie's urn and added her ghost into the household. Lucie lived with her and her kids for some time but eventually moved back in with her dad and twin brother. Being a witch, she could resurrect herself, but hasn't bothered so far, as being a ghost both fits her gothic sensibilities and is a great birth control. Maybe eventually, should she decide to settle down and wish to start a family.

Hey, all. Trying to get caught up with everyone's sims. I haven't played much this week due to a busy schedule. I know everyone is looking forward to the infant update, and even though I don't play families, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's gameplay with them.

Okay, on to my game. When we last saw Morgyn, he had stepped into a mystery portal and wound up at a well-equipped cottage somewhere in a jungle. After a night's rest at the cottage, Morgyn went exploring and found a village market. The villagers were oddly surprised to see him and even seemed a bit suspicious.
Smudge got into something that reeked. Morgyn really didn't want to know what.
Morgyn's attempts to gain information from the villagers didn't go well, but they did refer him to the village magistrate, Felix Alvarado. On arrival at the home, Morgyn met the magistrate's father, Leo, who was very surprised to see him.
Leo explained that for his entire adult life he has been the caretaker of the cottage where Morgyn was staying and, in all that time, Morgyn has been its only guest. When Morgyn attempted to find out more, Leo summoned his son, who arrived with his daughter Maria.
Felix wasn't any more informative than his father. Morgyn was only able to discover that the village has been isolated by magic for generations, and until now, no one had managed to find their way in. Felix recommended that Morgyn's research should start in the cottage library and hinted that his success there would determine how much help he got from the village.
Morgan returned to the cottage, more perplexed than ever, and began reading everything he could find.
Meanwhile, Smudge was banished to the conservatory until the stench was resolved but managed to make herself quite at home.
Come Friday, the last day of the term, the kids rose and went to their classes to take the final exams. After the last class of the day and the term, Erik led the way to The Old Home Bar & Grille to celebrate again. Night on the Town, being what it was, they were all excited to go. To start things off Erik ordered a cake to be brought. He placed Birthday candles atop it and set the cake at Aaron's place at the table. Then Erik ordered dinner for them. They each had a glass of Van Haute Meloire to accompany their steak dinner. Aaron blew out his candles and aged into a Young Adult. (Now, if he would only act the part.) While they were at the restaurant, their grades came down. Once again they did amazingly well. Then they quickly signed up for the expected last term. Upon their return to the dorm, fairly early, they all got down to the business of homework, and presentation boards, with the hope of starting any term papers, too. They had learned that if they gave themselves this 'head start', staying abreast of the work each day was an achievable goal. The next day, Saturday, found them all diligently working toward that end. There was also a Prom, should they desire to go, that evening. For Erik, it was incumbent on him to finish. He, again, had the Starlight Accolades Show to attend. He was up for Best Song for a sixth time. He did wonder how long this run would last, but was excited and nervous all the same. The pressure to 'perform' IE win, was enormous. He did wonder if his anxiety was affecting Kayleigh. He knew they were going to have to have a sit down and discuss what it was that was troubling her. He came across her weeping a few times. So, whatever it was that was bothering her, he needed to know to help share her burden. Were their parents correct in keeping them from marrying prior to Uni? Had she gotten over him, that quickly? Erik only knew he wasn't over her and in fact, his love for her deepened, daily. He could see their life together, wanted it so badly, it nearly made him sick to think she was possibly drifting away from him.

Indeed. I have a rule that when I start to dread having a sim around and would actively avoid having anything to do with them, it's time to move on. After all, I play to entertain, not torture myself.
All of the kids decided to skip the Prom. Most were intent on getting their work done prior to the beginning of their third and final term. They did end up losing the rest of the evening to this cause. But all presentation boards were ready to go, all term papers edited to perfection and submitted. Up early, anyway, Erik headed out to give a concert and a photoshoot returning in time for them to all head to church. Upon their return, Erik took a moment to shave, dressed in the suit he purchased for tonight's Award Show. Just after eleven AM, he gave Kayleigh a kiss goodbye and off he went to Del Sol Valley. His mother turned out, too. She even won an award for being a very nice Sim. Finally, they got around to the music portion of the awards. Erik was called forward to receive his sixth Best Song Accolade for his, All Things Worthy. "What a nice birthday gift, thank you so much. I'm honored."
He left immediately so that they could go to dinner. They weren't allowed to do any real cooking in the dorm. And cakes arrived, but not all of the time, nor when you needed one, nor did any of them feel they could just confiscate what was meant for the entire dorm. So, they went to a restaurant and ask the Server to bring out a cake, of their choosing. This time Aaron did the honors and selected a Blue Confetti cake, since that was Erik's favorite. So I had my first wedding using the Wedding Stories. They exchanged rings, tried to kiss. Instead they bonked their heads on eachother. But they pressed on to a first dance, and all was going well.... Right until one of the guests caught on fire. Apparently her co-worker at the Science career was a Vampire and I didn't realize it. Invited him to a beachside wedding. She tried to plead for the guest's life...no luck. What a first wedding.
@bloodmun Not bad for a first go of it! Love your pictures. I find the bonking of heads to be hysterical. Yes, it has happened more than once in my game. Lovely story.
