Thanks. I was just doing some detective work and found that when I had this computer built in December of 2020 that chip wasn't available in the iMacs, only in the MacBooks. When I built this one the only options were Intel chips, which I went all in on the biggest and fastest one available. I just looked and Apple no longer even makes this iMac. I have a feeling I'm going to be running into this problem a lot in the very near future unless I can find a way to pay for a new computer.
Edit: I need to explore the geeky side of the internet more often I guess. I'm just now learning that Apple no longer sells computers with anything other than their own chipsets. I didn't even know they made their own.😲 I thought they only used Intel chips.
Yeah I was a little confused when you said Intel but I'm not that familiar with Macs. It is surprising that it wouldn't be compatible with a two year old Mac. 🤔

The problem is, not long after I bought this one Apple went entirely with their own chip. I bought this one thinking I was going to be good for a while like the previous Mac. That one lasted for eight years and I specced this one out with a ton of memory and the biggest, baddest video card and processor they offered. I thought I would be covered for anything for the next 4 or 5 years, maybe 6 if I was lucky. So today's surprise was a shocker. It might not be too bad if Apple still has their trade-in program, and if this one still has good value which it hopefully does. My old one was still running, really slowly, but I got rid of it because it could no longer handle new versions of MacOS. That one still had a $200 trade-in value and I got it at Best Buy which means it was the lowest of low end specs. I'm still trying to get over the shock. I'm okay to keep going with TS4 which is the only game I've played since 2015. But looking through the App Store almost everything of interest in there tells me my system isn't compatible so it's only a matter of time before this becomes a problem with software other than games.
I guess that's the price of keeping my nose glued to The Sims and nothing else.🤣
I was gifted this game early for Christmas and have played it a few times. It’s going to be a nice addition to my sims games. I usually don’t play task based games because I find them repetitive, but this is more quest oriented and has a variety of things to do. I love making friends with the Disney characters, and my avatar is a pretty good sim self. I did have the game stall on me 2x, requiring a force quit, but it auto saves constantly so I didn’t lose progress. Both of the stalls were coming out of a dialogue session with a character, where the dialogue window never dismissed, keeping me locked out of play. I’ll have to check for a work around for that. Other than that, it’s running very smoothly.
I got a nintendo e-shop gift card as a gift, so I used it to get the standard edition for dreamlight valley. I wanted to get other stuff, so I could have gotten a better edition, but chose standard.
I was able to transfer my avatar from the avatar maker, and have played it two days straight. I played it since the moment I got it. Plan to play it again today.
I actually enjoy it, I may not have as much as the other editions, but with the festive event, I was able to get a festive fox and other Christmas items, so it was nice to join when I was able to.
Also, I was able to buy some items from Scrooge, and was able to find clothes from trunks
I played the game for quite awhile, and managed to unlock a good chunk of the characters.
I have Merlin, Mickey, Goofy, and Scrooge when you start the game.
From locations in the game I have Kristoff, Donald, Anna, Ariel, and Ursula.
From the worlds you can unlock, I have Wall-e, Moana, Maui, Remy, Buzz, and Woody.
So far the game is worth it, and I can't wait for the next few characters.
I still need to unlock Scar, Eric, and Stitch. As well as any new characters they bring in.
Can't wait for the new characters, and the road map for 2023
So far I have 20 out of the 21 characters unlocked, which the 21st being Eric
I can't wait for Mirabel, and see who joins her, I heard rumors it is Olaf, but we will see next month.
I’m really enjoying this game, right now. Even though it’s a bit more grindy than I usually like, the quests, lore, and Disney characters make up for it. So far, I’ve only experienced some minor gltches. Nothing game breaking. I’m alternating it with my Sims game, and it’s going well. I’m looking forward to the updates.
I haven't played this in so long. I got so excited for the Christmas event then played for like one day and got distracted otherwise I haven't played since before halloween 😅. I just got so busy with life... and the new pokemon. I'm excited for all the updates though... it's going to be like a whole new game when I do get back to it. It really is already so much fun and seeing so much yet to come is amazing.
I have my Disney Dreamlight Valley on my Desktop PC.
I'm finding it a bit hard to play, which is weird because Disney Dreamlight Valley isn't supposed to be harder than Civilization VI.
I can't seem to get my Avatar to catch any fish for the Goofy challenge.
However, I'm at least up to Level 4 now.
