Reading all these gamebreaking bugs and more mobile phone addiction, I think I'll better leave origin untouched for a while, even if I need some distraction from the stress at rl work. I have auto updates on and the moment I open it, it will update the sims. The ingame mobiles phones already annoy me to the abyss, even when I muted them, the sims still get a ton of messages, and now they'll get even more? Really? Was this change really necessary, ugh. It's enough for me, please bring a toggle to shut down the mobile phone in game. If you need a reason, call it sim city energy saving crisis.
@Daravi Put your computer in airplane mode, turn off your wireless, or otherwise disconnect from the Internet. You should be able to open Origin and it won't be able to update because you literally won't be connected to the Internet. You can play the game that way, and reconnect as soon as The Sims is open.

me and my sister ever since we were really little always made fun of game bugs and glitches. We would laugh for weeks maybe even months about them and then write stories about them and send them to eachother as secret letters. 🥺🥺
They would later become inside jokes. I guess that's why I don't understand the concept of becoming angry or super upset over bugs. I couldn't get angry about it if I tried. A little annoyance is reasonable though.

Baby Kitty Jade, the problem is that these aren't just "funny bugs." I too enjoy "funny bugs." I screenshot them just like you, but in this case these are game-breaking bugs. These are bugs that some people find disturbing (like the one bug we're not supposed to talk about). This goes beyond annoyance...which is to be expected on any patch day.
I can understand being a bit annoyed at something not working right but the outright rage and anger that people go into everytime there is a bug is way out of control in my opinion. I think people need to get a better handle on their emotions and learn to have patience and control themselves. We could also learn to be kinder to eachother as well as the Devs who are working hard to bring us something fun to laugh with and enjoy. Then they have to work hard to fix problems which I'm sure is not fun to do.
Then they have to hear it from a community screaming and yelling at them to fix it and fix it NOW because demands MUST be met or I'll get really really ANGRY😡
I mean I think it's really over the top and immature the way people handle these situations 🤷
Actually I don't like to use the word immature because little kids seem to be much more forgiving.
For the short time we have on this earth we should try to live in an exhalted state, that way everyone comes out happy because it means we have learned to have compassion for other lives, thoughtfulness, kind thoughts and speech, patience, humbleness, unity, forgiveness and other exalted qualities. None of those good qualities should suddenly end because of a game bug.
We can report issues to the devs and give our constructive criticism all the while being kind, considerate and compassionate to make sure the devs are not hurt, and that they understand our appreciation for 8 years of fun content they have provided us with. And when we learn to develop those exalted qualities within ourselves and make others feel good we will feel the peace within and the happiness of others will become our own.
But that's not what I'm seeing throughout the sims community and it dissapoints me.
Anger only makes the fire grow bigger 🔥 we should reflect on it and look for what we can use to put the fire out. That would be more beneficial for everyone.
People are free to disagree as they please but that's how I feel. 😌
I think it IS fair to be upset. It's like you hire someone to paint the rooms in your house, and they come back and say "It's done, here's the bill". So you pay and check out the work and it's poorly painted with some walls not even having been painted and one room has the wrong colour. If you pay for something, be it work on the house or a game, you should expect to have it in good order.
Bugs can happen and I think that's fair, but when it's ALWAYS like this, and the game being a very expensive one for what it does, it will be tremendously disappointing. I'd expect higher quality, this goes for any game or service.
You also talk about having a good time with the time you have on Earth, but that could also be the very reason people are upset. The time they was planning to spend on this and now they can't, despite having paid for it and arranged time to do realise it ending up being wasted.
One thing made me chuckle about this too and that's "It's not fun to fix your own poor work"... Imagine hearing those same painters retorting to you after you point out the walls are not good, "Aaaaaaw, but it's so unfun to fix what I painted poorly in the first place, cut me some slack?!"...
It's a job, and anyone doing a job should make sure it's up to standard before saying it's finished.

Stop Change Phone Color Obsession
This Mod stops Sims from changing their Phone Color each time they travel or a Household gets loaded unless they do indeed have the default Phone Color. I also removed the camera focus code.
Regarding the phones as an occult player. It makes the occult sims act wildly out of character. They break patterns that they have had for years in some cases, like the possessed sims. The rampaging werewolves should be so out of control that they cannot stop themselves from breaking computers or other valuable possessions, and then they stop to google. My little geek-werewolf broke her computer the first time she turned. She is a geek student who is dirt-poor so that was so irritating and awesome. I was sitting there just looking at the screen like "You are a loner, geek, don't break your computer!! You will be miserable going to the library to get your gaming-fix". If I patch my game the next werewolf would break stuff and then in the middle of being out of control they would start typing on the phone.
I get the impression that this feature was not tested with occult sims and that is why occult players are reacting strongly. Possessed sims have some remarkable animations, they are excellent. And now they are gone, you might get a scrolling sim instead of a possessed sim.
I love my occult sims and I just want them to act like themselves. It feels to risky to leave this to a mod that might not be updated because this is so important to my immersion in the story. Other players might feel differently.
Hope that they will make the occult sims act like themselves when they are supposed to be out of control, either possessed or rampaging.
I don't want to sound rude, but after seeing all the quirky autonomous actions this update added to the game, I'll wait a while before updating. My game is in a good place right now and I'd much rather play than pull out my hair in frustration.

Is it safe to update your game now? Have they fix the aging issue and other things? I would like to update and play my save but I'm scared of all the bugs that were reported.

Updated my husband’s computer and started a vanilla save. Initial take is that I like the new UI for the phone and that skills go up very quickly.
Will be interesting to explore the new patch.
I spotted a new option for sims to video call on the new phone UI while playing yesterday.
Oh… I will check it out.
