I usually play with aging off. If I did turn it on, I would modify normal lifespans so that the adult lifespans were longer. They seem too short in comparison with how long it takes to raise a child.
I prefer long because I usually like to pace my sims with their lives. Also, that makes the length of seasons and university semesters feels more logical, at least in my own head cannon.
Still, I’d prefer to have official support for custom life span though!
