Werewolves, it looks amazing but...

What are your biggest fears surrounding the new pack? For me it is Sims being the Sims, completly ignoring the fact that this world is full of hairy beings with claws and fangs and just seeing them as some new Sims to socialise with. Also that the new world will be a microworld like the Vampires with about four lots!

I agree I hope sims react to werewolves, but I have my doubts they will. Vampires is my favourite pack, but one of the few problems I have with it is how other sims not only instantly recognise vampires but are unbothered by them. That's fine once they get to know them, but I would expect strangers to be wary at least.

Another issue I have is alchemy being only for spellcasters rather than a skill all sims can learn. I hope this pack has some gameplay for sims that aren't werewolves like the vampire lore skill. I am still hoping we get hybrids one day so I can the most out of Realm of Magic. Vampires, werewolves and spellcasters are often one and the same in lore after all.

I'm happy vampires and werewolves are getting special interactions and lore, but I am also worried about how this will impact on my sims and their relationship. My main sim is a vampire and his partner is a future werewolf so I really hope they are still able to get along. That's my only big fear as generally I am excited by what I've seen and read so far.

Honestly I can't really think of any... I'm pretty open and accepting of everything knowing how ts4 works and the limitations we have.
If I had to choose something I'd say I fear that if they don't give us a scary trait sims will not fear werewolves and just chill with them. I understand how fearing sims could get messy in terms of who what when where and why sims should be feared. And you end up with friends being scared of eachother. That's why I think it should be a trait. And sims shouldn't feel scared if their relationship is really high.

Just like I made this super evil looking scary vampire but without his custom scared trait no one cares lol sims love him.
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

NPC Werewolves not being wolfy anywhere but in Moonwood Mill.

I'm perfectly fine with needing to go there to activate them going wolf in other worlds by first befriending them or even just going to Moonwood Mills, but I want wolves all over the world.

    • There will be a ton of bugs and glitches that make it unplayable.
    • The world is like HoB, where there's a ton of empty space and little to do outside of the lore quests. And it also lags horribly, rendering it unplayable.
    • Custom fur patterns are not inheritable, or glitch up horribly. IIRC it works with pets, but you never know.
    • You can't have sims live in their werewolf state 24/7.

I wish it would be like with Cowplants, the deadliest entity in the Sims, who are very cute. But if your Sims get to friendly with them...

I'm not all that worried, but the one thing that would be a deal-breaker for me is werewolves having a built-in animosity toward other occults. I mean, yeah, I could adjust my stories to reflect that, but why should I have to? Those kinds of stories bore me too quickly when other people write them. I certainly don't want to bore myself.

Nerfing. I’ve already seen people say they’re buying it for the CAS or BB (especially the BB) but don’t want the werewolves in their game.

I agree absolutely to nerfing! I do hope that is a thing of the past and that is there is something non Werewolfe fans want to nerf

    This!!! Major concern for that.

Only other concern is that I really dont want occult rovalry/hate to be a mandatory thing cross the simstates. Like I when I want it, yeah it's great but sometimes I don't want it too. A way to select who hates who would be ideal.

I can't say for sure but I don't imagine that'll be a thing (unless nerfed) since transformations will likely be connected to lunar cycles and lunar cycles are for all worlds.

This, because I too have seen lots of people posting they don’t like werewolves but are only buying the pack for bb and cas, and now I am afraid like Vampires people will buy a pack named Werewolves and then be angry when said werewolves appear in their games and then rally to essentially have them scrubbed out just like vampires have been along with aliens and celebrities.

I am afraid of them causing mayhem on regular lots, like peeing in the middle of the family restaurant or going on a rampage at the pub. I wouldn't mind seeing them around in the world, or having my sims drink with them at the pub, or hiring them as waiters for my restaurants, but they need to behave.

A well behaved werewolf rarely makes history. 😆 Just kidding.

Are you saying that we need "Etiquette For Werewolves" posters in public venues to remind them to pretend that they're not werewolves?

Personally I don't want wellbehaved werewolves, and the idea them 🐸🐸🐸🐸 in the middle of for example Bob Pancakes restaurant would have me in stitches!

We should at least be able to admonish them if they do that. Kind of like house training for the pets.

And that’s fine. Everyone is allowed to like what they like. The problem comes when people buy a pack with very specific gameplay (because they had to have that jacket!), then demand that the gameplay be eliminated or tuned down to the point that it has no impact on the game. I don’t play families. I did like some of the CAS and BB in Parenthood. What I didn’t do? I didn’t buy the game, then demand that the new gameplay be nerfed so it didn’t intrude on my supernatural world. Why? Because I realize that others play a different game than I do, and this pack was for them, not me. What I did do? I went CC shopping for something similar and I did without the rest. And, I survived just fine without those patched jeans.

That's pretty much how it usually is with sims as being an occult sims don't really react a whole lot to it. Just another day in the neighborhood. Less there's a skill building tree and there's a perk in a way non-werewolve sims can be fearful of said werewolf. Would be a nice workaround.

I guess I'd be afraid of them being too tame. They're Werewolves. They should act like big beasties, at least on the full moon or once in a while. I don't want them to end up as big, dopey lapdogs. But from what I've read, they have a Fury rating and Temperaments, which sounds like something the player might be able to influence to their liking, so I'm not too worried about it at this time.

I also do want some enmity and/or conflict with other Occults, at least Vampires, but I'd also like a way to be able to overcome or negate it on an individual level, when needed. But again, it sounds like the gameplay system has mechanics in place for both (like the way Vampires has "vegetarian" Vamps who only ask permission or use plasma packs) so at this time I'm not fussed about it. The Livestream will tell more.

Devs have confirmed that the new world will have 5 lots, the same amount of lots as the vampire world and glimmerbrook. So it will be small. But I think the rural area of Henford on Bagley will also be a good home for my werewolves.

My 'fear' is that, just like vampires, aliens and spellcasters, the new werewolves will be toned done and invisible unless you are actively playing a household with them. I would like occults to be visible and acting like occults when you meet them. Perfect scenario would be to have a lot trait that let's them be their true self. That way we can choose which lots they are attracted too and which lots will be without occult activity.

    It's exactly my concern.

If I visit a spellcasters house, I would expect to see them using magic go get household chores done. Or if I pick a fight, why wouldn't a spellcaster zap me in revenge?

This right here, I was ecstatic to see some of the signature quirky, weird, slightly naughty humor in the game again.
