I’ve seen folks wishing for manicures and pedicures in a potential Spa Day update. I have to be honest and never saw that one coming. I thought of it as a separate kit, as in: “They would NEVER!”
Although personally I’m not interested in any nail related features (unless it’s claws) it is a wonderful surprise indeed and it makes complete sense to have it as part of this pack.
Spa Day will be as new with all the additional content offered. I like that and I have high hopes for upcoming pack refreshes…

I'm going to make a wild assumption and say that the Zen Guru career path will most likely be the yoga instructor. I've been wanting a yoga instructor career for so long, so this refresh has me super happy.

Honestly, as much as I would love for the careers to be active, I doubt they will be. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. They added way more stuff for Spa Day than I thought they would, so who knows?
I'm wondering if the careers might be work from home, but I could also see a gig system like Paranormal Investigator/dream home decorator that picks a random Spa lot in your save.

Have you seen some of the acrylic nails available out there? Talons is not that much of an understatement. I even bought a box for playing with some makeup ideas when my kid's HS was doing Beauty and the Beast.
So now that we know what a pack refresh entails, what do you think could be refreshed in other packs? New variants of gameplay objects, activities for other age groups, a new trait, new aspiration, possibly a new career, new cas assets etc.
I'm not sure what gameplay they could add to Dine Out, though I do think all the restaurant items are a bit too trendy and upmarket, and would like to see more greasy plastic covered diner stuff like in Hot Date. New recipes? New styles of dining, like buffets, tepenyaki grills or fast food restaurants? Though I think that might be a bit beyond the remit of a refresh. Perhaps an aspiration related to dating or frequenting community lots, or a social event where you can book out a restaurant?
Outdoor Retreat seems to have more possibilities that are obvious, such as updating the herbalism skill and it's ingredients, more off the grid stuff, more cabin objects like a rustic bunkbed. I'm not sure how possible it is to retroactively add swimming in the lake, or add Snowy Escape features if you had both packs. I would like to see Park Ranger as a career option though. The forest/mountain destinations of previous games had activities such as axe throwing, log rolling, picnics, and hot springs. Maybe a chopping block for fireplaces and campfires? Again, I think I'm thinking far too beyond a refresh.
Personally, I want they update Get to Work to be able to own different business types like spa, café, night club, bar, lounge, pool, karaoke, library, museum, onsen, etc.

In all honesty for What would really excite me for an update to an old system would be for Ownable Business' (Retail, Restaurants, and vet clinic's), be possible to move in on them, like those types of builds that feature a home as well as the business on the same lot or above the business as well.

I don't think so, these updates don't seem that major, so I'm guessing/hoping it'll be a relatively regular thing like kits. I don't think they'd make such a big thing of "we're refreshing packs!" and then just refresh one and leave it for a year. Also since Spa Day is extremely low on the list of packs that people want an update for, I'm guessing they're aiming to do most the packs so they'd have to do them pretty frequently for that to be possible, and I'm guessing since it's not highly requested this is more of a trial run for pack refreshes and the "more wanted" updates will come in a few months after it
I am so happy that my expectations were exceeded. I have always loved Spa Day, and all the additions sound wonderful. The only thing I don't really like is to have little children running around the spa. That doesn't seem very relaxing to me. I understand why they did it, and it will probably be cute. But I am not sold on that idea.
