I would just like to ask because my mods wouldn't enable, first off. Upon inspection there were no mods in my mods folder! Changing the name slightly isn't the same as pulling said file. Luckily, I have a copy from the most recent time I backed up my entire Sims 4 folder. (The patch prior to today's.) Phew! I really hated the thought of having to run down all of that 18th century cc stuff. I have them all divided up nicely into separate folders, too. That was a bit of a chore. But all of it was gone. Gone,
gone, I say! I found the slightly older mods folder and slid them into my game. Actually just outside of my Electronic Arts folder in documents. I went into the game and changed the type of lot a certain venue was, switching it from Generic (where sadly you can't hold weddings — they don't show up in the Event category). Game wouldn't save. All of that work and it wouldn't save. I did a folder refresh, still no luck. I then did a repair game, leaving my Mods folder where I had placed it. Tried a brief test with a Sim that came up in CAS, just to make sure. I was able to enable mods. Cool. So, I went back and replaced the saves, Tray, and I thought I'd replaced the Mods, too, but I thought I could use the move to function, but my folder went nowhere!
That's when I started opening up the older Sims4 folders on my desktop and found the one marked May 2021. There I discovered the Mods folder will all of the updated mods, yay. (Guess I just have to scare myself every now and again, get that adrenaline going. Keep the ol' girl alive, you know.) Still managed to forget to place it back into the brand new Sims4 folder! It's days like this I wonder how I got out of bed safely.
I'm beat, I admit it. Tired is not a good thing. I don't wear it well. Finally, got that all sorted out. I went in to make all of those changes again to the venue. This time it saved. Yay! Decided to play Rotation lot 3. I have only one Sim day left before I head off to the next lot. Erik's lot, of course. Will the game let me into the lot? NO! It bounces me right back to the main screen with all the worlds visible to choose from.
I'm basically done for the day. Hopefully, when I power up my game tomorrow, all of this nightmare will be over. I placed his new home in the vicinity of his siblings, yesterday. But, he's got a World Tour and likely won't move in there quite yet. We'll see. That all depends on whether or not the game will let me
IN.
I hate patches. I really do. Mind you, I had some of this going on without the mods enabled, so I'm hard-pressed to think that's the problem. Not only that, but the last go-around the dern Mods folder was still in my documents file … What to do with me?

I took a fresh look at the contents in my Mods folder this morning. The MCCC mod sometimes has a Last Exception that it throws, but keeps inside the MCCC Folder. There is a way to check what it's all about. Seems I had about five duplicates, so that prompted me to look at all the mod folders I have. Although, the one duplicate I found wasn't the mod listed, I can't help but think this could have caused the misfiring of the game, as it were. I then went about verifying if all of these mods were still considered compatible and I downloaded the newest copy of MCCC; Mortem; and double-checked Private Practice and the entire SNB (Sims National Bank) system. I should be good to go, but we'll see how it works today.
Thanks for your response. I feel less lonely, now.

I was actually quite pleasantly surprised that there was no problems. (other than lag while the game reintegrated)
I have a love-hate relationship with patches. Heh heh!
If I were a Pirate though... hmm?
Yeah, I was able to play my game yesterday. So glad, too, that my Sims are no longer zipping about the lot as they were previously. Seems I had some problems in my Mods folder. Wasn't the patch at fault this time. My bad. Please, let me know when I can come out of Time-out.

I have gotten in the habit of backing up my mods, saves, and tray folder before every patch day, but I had also just deleted my entire mods folder a few days ago and started anew. Certainly glad I didn't have issues, because I didn't know about this most recent patch and hadn't backed up the mod folder I had been creating over the last several days. Whew!

Yeah, as I have already stated, the fault lies with me. I'm the one who had two of the very same mod in my Mods folder. This was the cause of my woes. Once I saw this and deleted the older copy of said mod, the game is working fine again. Yay! I don't blame the use of mods, in this case it was Operator Malfunction.
