@Cinna32 - what a luxurious bedroom you have created for this challenge, that bed fits the bill perfectly in the swatch, and the wallpapers and choice of paintings are perfect.
Hello everyone!! I really enjoyed this week's challenge! And everyone submitted some awesome creations! I kind of got carried away and made a studio apartment. That and Pinterest has some amazing pins for 1920s era bathrooms, bedrooms, and living rooms fir inspiration and I wanted to do all of them XD. I am building a boarding house and it fit in perfectly! My favorite sim Joanna Fontenot playtested it for me. It was fun seeing her in vintage style clothes, she's usually wearing the latest fashions:)

Top Down View:
I modeled this after studio apartments that could be found in many boarding houses during the time. I know my great grandmother ran one herself in San Antonio from the 1910s thru the 1930s! She used to prepare meals for her boarders and they would all eat downstairs in the family dining room or they could take it up to their rooms for privacy, plus laundering services. If I could live in the past it would have to be the 1920s. I love that aesthetic.
Brief Overview:
I decorated the whole room with dark wood paneling and seafoam gray wallpaper with floral print in the art deco style (Realm of Magic). The bathroom has decorative art deco style tiling in the same color scheme. I saw from a lot of catalog records that green, grey, lavender, and pink were extremely popular so I stuck with a green or pink/red accent color. They also liked a lot of Eastern inspired prints, paintings, and knickknacks.
Living room area
Bedroom
Bathroom
The front part of this room consists of a living area where she can receive and entertain a few select guests. There's a green floral print 2 seater couch from the Victorian era. A decorative screen behind acts as a room divider to provide some privacy from her bed "room"
As well as a comfy armchair
And a rocking chair. There's also a fireplace in case it gets a bit chilly. Joanna was trying to practice her knitting lol.
The bathroom is a typical bathroom lol. Its still part of the larger room, but I included some unique looking columns to create a "doorway." Moving on into the bedroom, which consists of a double bed with 2 armoires and a small desk for writing. I did include the vanity table from Vintage Glamour too. Joanna reapplies her makeup at it. She plans on hitting the local speakeasy tonite.
Her date is running late so she listens to her jazz records on her record player and radio while she waits for him to pick her up:)

1920s Apartment is a lovely vintage 1920s style studio room! @sarabeth2984 The pretty floral patterned and wood wall panelling, warm natural colors and the wood flooring are lovely! Very nice layout and 1920s style furnishings! Very nice old style sofa, armchair and rocking chair fireplace sitting area in the living room area for sims to enjoy chatting, knitting or reading the books that are on the side table or bed area drawers , whilst being near the fire. The floral floor rug is pretty! The craft items are a nice touch on the side table, and the dragon, dog statue and pretty flowers are very nice 1920s touches on the fireplace ledge. The coat stand suits the era well! It is great that a patterned divider screen separates off the bed area. Very nice vintage ceiling, vanity table, and bedside table lights and red floor lamp. The vintage mirror is a nice touch on the wall, and the old style photos on the corners look great! Sims will enjoy listening to vintage music on the old style record player. Very nice bed area! Sims will like sitting at the vanity table doing their makeup and using the beauty items that are on the table. The red rose is pretty! The gold birds wall decor is a nice 1920s themed touch. The vintage patterned floor rugs under the bed are very nice! The embroidery on the wall is a lovely homely touch, and the candles and flowers on the drawers are very nice! Very nice vintage wall and floor tiling in the bathroom area. The bath robe is a nice touch on the wall.
It is a very nice apartment room that reflects the 1920s style very well! Thank you very much for entering this week’s challenge
Unfortunately I wasn't able to make a room this week, but I have really enjoyed seeing all of your 1920's themed rooms. They all look so beautiful! Great job everyone!
Hello everyone! The “1920’s themed bedroom, study or bathroom” challenge is now finished! Each of the rooms are very lovely! You have reflected the 1920s theme so very well in your rooms! The furnishings, colours, styles of the rooms to suit the 1920s are very nice! Thankyou so very much for designing and creating these lovely bedrooms, bathrooms and studies!
I will post the new challenge in the next post and on the first page of this thread
The theme for the week is : “ a room using only base game and one pack items”
Helen enjoys playing the sims and building/furnishing homes ! She owns all the packs and often enjoys furnishing rooms just based on items from one pack and base game items. She doesn’t include any items from other packs. She has decided to furnish rooms in her own home in the same way! Could you please help her, by designing a room using only items from one pack and base game items, and she will use it as inspiration for the room in her own home. It is only one type of room, not a combined room such as a kitchen and dining room or bedroom and bathroom. I also would prefer if you didn’t use the Spooky pack. Could you also please post what pack you used.
I will look forward to seeing the themed rooms!
Just a little reminder, it needs to be uploaded as a room not a lot.
It can’t include cc items.
Please use the hashtag
#oneroomoneweekonetheme with your entry
Please also include an overall top down views picture of the room if you are able to.
Theme for the week: a room using only base game and one pack items Gallery name of room & link: Bathroom Tropics Origin id: icanhassims Notes: Of course, I had to choose my favorite pack: Island Living! It's also entirely appropriate to do an island-themed this week in honor of my dad who passed away on Thursday. He adored Hawaii and would've loved to have had a tropical bathroom. Pictures of the room:
I am so sorry to hear of the passing away of your precious Dad @icanhassims I send hugs to you and softly scented flowers petals to encircle your heart and bring some comfort through this time.
It is very special that you used the Island Living and did a tropical bathroom in honour of him It is a very special bathroom made with love.
It looks very nice how you have used the pack items in the room! The natural wood texture of the furniture is calming and warm! The blue colour of the walls is restful. Very lovely wood bath tub corner nook! The plants are nice nature touches at each end of the tub. The tropical tiki wall decor is a great touch on the wall! Sims will enjoy restfully bathing in the tub. It looks great the way the awning covers over tub, giving a great tropical hut nook look. The green oval floor rug is pretty! Sims will enjoy showering using the nice shower that came with the pack. The wall hangings are very nice for sims to see after showering. It is great there are double sinks and the wood texture of the counters is very nice. The birds and leafy wallart are pretty and restful! The candles lighting are a lovely peaceful touch. The hand towels are nice placed either sides of the mirror. The toilet corner nook is great. It is very nice that a curtained wall separates off the bath tub nook. Very lovely windows armchair sitting alcove! The softly textured green curtains are pretty! Sims will enjoy sitting on the natural cane chair in the sunshine! Very nice vanity table area for sims to enjoy sitting on the natural textured pack chair and using the beauty items that on the table. The three panels wood edged mirror is very nice for sims to check their appearance in.
It is a very special tropical bathroom Thank you very much for entering this week’s challenge

She only has the base game so I made the entire house with base game only items.
